Here we go again..... Cruising is too much fun!!!

CalDisneyFamily will be on the 4/5/09 Wonder 4-night cruise. DH, Me and DS 15..Hope to see you there!:cool2:

I'm hoping to confirm this weekend. Need to persuade DH into trip. My DD-14 needs no persuasion!:) How are the crowds on board during Spring Break. We went in Oct. 2006 and it was wonderful!

We love the Spring Break cruise... Have never been at any other time, so it would be difficult to compare. We talked DH into his first cruise this time, so maybe the two feet draggers can hang out together...:goodvibes

The weather is fantastic in April. Our anniversary and my birthday are all in April, so we will be doing a lot of celebrating!

Hope you reeled the DH in!!!!!

We are booked for our first cruise!! After lots of trips to DL and WDW, we are paid and eagerly planning. It will be me, mt DH, DD(9) and DS(6). Can't wait. I have been reading these boards to help me prepare. Any suggestions on a glass bottom boat tour. Looks like there are 2 different ones.

congratulations!!!! I remember how excited we were on our first cruise...and you won't be disapointed.

Lessons learned from our last two cruises....

Utilize the room service feature. It is easier for us to wake up to breakfast, then get ready for any excursions. I drag in the morning and need my coffee, so this is a great feature and there is no charge for it. Otherwise, you try to get everyone ready when they are hungry and tired then have to wait in line for breakfast, we have seen crabby families in the morning, :rotfl:

The ship takes a lot of pictures of you. Do not wait till the last night to purchase any pictures at the photo shop, they will double the price. Purchase as they become available and they are pretty reasonable.

Get to the ship as early as possible, they serve a nice lunch and you don't want to miss the party up on the top deck when the ship leaves port...the kids will absolutely love it!!

We haven't gone out on the glass bottom boats...so I don't know which ones are best. :confused3 The banana boat last year was "water torture" not recommended my me, but my son was hysterical. Picture a hundred million gallons of cold water dumped on you while hanging on for dear life...not so much fun. If they are still doing this, I will suggest it to my DH, :rotfl2:

The Atlantis tour of the aquarium is really fun for your age kids. If you take the official tour, not just strolling around on your own, you will get to see the baracudas and other very scary looking fish, very exciting!

Would love to hear how you liked your first cruise, don't forget to post your report!

Does your DS15 do any of the teen activities? If so, what does he think of the programs?
I can't get my daughter to go, she's not one to go where she "doesn't know anyone!":sad2: , unlike her Mom who never meets a stranger...

YEP! We are all set to go...feels great to be "paid" up! We start our vacation at the Grand Floridian...which is soooo wonderful!...

The video was an entry into the CMO "Chief Magic Official" contest last year. A good friend, Justin Muchoney won the contest!! There are many threads here if you have time to read about our journey...
You can search "CMO" and find a bunch of crazy people with great videos.

How do you know the kids club is packed??

I had another thread asking what could be the possibilities for there not being a room available when adding a 4 year old, and one of the suggestions was that the kids club could be packed. I'm going to try calling Disney today to double check.

Oh yaaa! My DS hesitated because he didn't know anyone on the first cruise. I made him go in and just "see" what it was like. The staff puts the kids together in groups (sometimes by the state they live in) They have a blast...then, you don't see your kids except for meal times. :cool1:

If she would like to write to my son and ask him any questions, let me know. He is also on facebook if she has an account there...you can show her this pic...

Here he is at the castle...in Disneyland.

What a cutie! That is the first time I have seen the castle at DL.

Lindsey has a facebook. I do too actually. I joined the Disney Cruise Line group on it. There are networks for everything now!
I hope she will try the club out. I think she would enjoy it. I'll tell her that your son thought it was fun. She is not one to jump into the unknown..haha! Teenage girls.... :sad2:

We'll be on the Wonder with all of you. I am so excited. This is the first cruise for us, and I just confirmed my boys (9 and 5) in the clubs along with making our excursion & Palo reservations on the 20th. It will be our 15th anniversary the last day of the cruise! :cool1:

Thanks for all of the advice. I am stoked to try out the room service , although convincing my husband that it is included in the price as opposed to the most expensive dining option (like in a regular hotel stay) will take a little work.

Because of the spring break crowds, we will be doing the water parks for a couple of days after the cruise instead of the regular parks and we will be staying at the Dolphin.

Hey Golfnsuch, I'm glad you found the thread!

That room service will come in handy for morning coffee. Be sure to order the cake of the day for snacks and the mickey bars for your kids!

We are going to Typhoon Lagoon on Thursday after the cruise. We were planning to do the Atlantis AquaAdventure, but it is so expensive and we could do TL and stay the night cheaper. We live in Georgia, so we will go back home on Friday-

I think you and your family will LOVE the cruise. It is the most relaxing vacation we have had, even though we stayed busy. There is something about being on the deep blue sea that soothes the soul!

Hope to see you around on board!
