April 29th Star Wars Changes Crowds

Hi. We're visiting Disneyland and DCA at the end of April. Do you know if the crowds at Disneyland will be really bad on 4/29 with the changes happening in Galaxy's Edge? Or will the crowds be mostly within Galaxy's Edge? Would you avoid Disneyland that day? I believe there is an after-hours Star Wars event on 4/30, so just wasn't sure how bad Disneyland might be on 4/29. Any advice you have is appreciated - just trying to plan our days. Thanks!

Short answer is YES. Anytime there is something new the parks are more crowded than they would otherwise be. The largest crowds will be in Galaxys Edge but expect that crowd to spill over into other areas of the park.

You can never tell but I went the first day of Bluely and saw that show plus did over 30 other attractions and shows and the park closed at 11 PM, along with being spring break thats a good amount done for a day went lots of people were in the park. However the crowd was different, yes lots of people but most were trying to see Bluely and LL felt great that day and many attractions didn't sell out until after 6 PM.

So Most likely a busy day but also could be lots of people going to check out the new Star Wars stuff and bounce after a few rides.

We are there the same time. I expect the 29th to be busy. Disney announced that the things coming to Galaxies Edge on Wednesday will be at the After Dark event on the 28th. Hopefully that takes away some of the crowd.

I always assumed this would be the case. I would be very upset, if I was attending, and this wasn't the case.
