April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Wonder to Hawaii- who is with me?

Alrighty, folks!! The lanyard team is now officially full----I had hoped to get 25 members and we reached 25 members in less than 3 days (or maybe even 2?!?)....you guys are definitely motivated!!

I have already gotten at least one volunteer beyond the 25, as well, who will start the "waiting list" for lanyard team. If you would like to be put on this waiting list....feel free to still PM me (or if I need members later on I'll just put out another call on the board).

This waiting list of folks is still helpful because if someone who is on the team has to pull out for some reason, then I'll add folks who came in after the 25 cut-off. Also, once I start asking people to register for lanyards, it may turn out that we have a really large number of lanyards to order (I'm suspecting this might be the case as big and chatty as this bunch is! :lmao:)...which means that the total cost of the project might be more expensive....if that ends up happening and it feels like it's going to cost each team member more than planned then I might expand the lanyard team to help split the cost some more.

Thanks to all who've joined up...I'll be publishing the list of lanyard team members soon along with directions for how everyone can start signing up for their lanyards!!

OK folks----

Let the sign-ups for lanyards BEGIN!!!

If you would like a FREE custom lanyard and name badge for this cruise (a great way to meet new people, identify other DIS friends, and put faces and names with screen-names), then I need you to EMAIL ME YOUR INFORMATION!!

Here is the information that I need:

  1. DISBoards screenname: I need the DISBoard name(s) spelled and capitalized the way you want it on your name badge. For many/most groups, there will probably be only one DIS name for a group of people---that is totally fine. If there ARE multiple different DIS names/users in a group, let me know all of them but ALSO be sure to link the correct DIS name with the correct person.
  2. First Name: Please give us the first name of EVERYONE in your party who would like a lanyard the way you want it to appear on the name badge. (Please remember that spelling counts!! The name you give here is what your name badge will say....so make sure it's correct!:thumbsup2) Also---and this is important---make sure that the FIRST name you send is the primary DIS user under the screenname you send!
  3. Stateroom #: Why do I need your room #? To get your lanyard to you! I will try to give out all the lanyards in the port or at a meet onboard during embarkation...but if I miss you, I need your room # so that I can deliver them to you later. If you are GTY, that's fine, just say so. There will be plenty of time later to fill in room #'s or to make changes if people switch rooms.

So please put all the above information into an email and send it to this address: dcl.hawaii.lanyards@gmail.com

(Please note, I will not necessarily be replying individually to every person confirming receipt of their request for lanyards....HOWEVER, once I get requests rolling in I will be putting them into a spreadsheet that I will link through google docs and people can view (but NOT edit) so you can look for yourself there to make sure you are listed and that all your information is correct...and then email me with any changes obviously).

Let the lanyard fun begin!!!

(Note: Would it be possible to get the above information posted to the 1st post or any other universal space people are using to get information? Also, you'll all be getting very sick of seeing it....but I will probably post the above message about once every other week for the next 8 or 9 months so that new participants to our thread can get in on the fun, too!)

....for members of the lanyard team, I do need you to follow the directions in the post above, as well----you're on the lanyard team already because you PMed me, but now I need to make sure I have your information to put you on the lanyard list to make you lanyards and name badges!!

Thank you Erik and Jason!! You did such a great job for the WBTA last year, I'm looking forward to seeing your design for this year :yay: email will be sent soon......:cheer2:

Thanks Erik, I'll email soon! We're frantically getting ready to leave for vacation, so I may wait until we get back.

Just went to see Pirates 4, and now the kids are frantically going through things to find all our old pirate stuff. DS say's he wants to go all out and maybe even dress as Jack! :rotfl: I sure hope they still have a pirate night, otherwise I'm going to have two disappointed "fully armed" kids! pirate:

just saw pirates 4: honest review, it was good, not great....loved the hawaii scenery! in the credits it said it was filmed on oahu and kauai....very pretty....saw in 3d imax, tickets were pricey, but the 3d in this film was nice..sometimes there is no difference, but it looked great in 3d....worth seeing if you are a fan, could have been better, but not as bad as the reviewers were saying .....just my 2 cents.

We just got back from seeing Pirates 4, too, and I really liked it a lot. I wasn't a huge fan of the other 3...they were OK...but nothing I ever had to see more than once....but this one I liked a lot----partly because it had mermaids. I love mermaids so I loved that part of the story :thumbsup2

Statue of King Kamehameha I

Kamehameha the Great unified the Hawaiian islands in the 1800s through battle and then negotiation. This statue is found in Hilo, not far from where we will dock. You may also see his statue when you visit 'Iolani Palace on Sunday in Honolulu (on Oahu) - it will across the street.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers! I'ts SATURDAY:)

No new news this morning, and that's a good thing! It's NOT raining. My laptop IS working. That's a VERY good thing.

Happy Day, ALL!

We are in! We were lucky that space became available while we were on the Alaska cruise and we booked ASAP.

We look forward to the FE - we signed up on the spreadsheet - our little boy loved coming back to our room and finding little treats!

We're so excited about this cruise... truthfully, we didn't want to get off the ship when our last cruise ended!
