GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Yes, Zakerdog & Cruiser! These folks were on the PC cruise - I tried to pursuade them onto this cruise also, so I wouldn't need to write my own trip report, :rotfl:

Hi, All,
I am very excited to be joining all of you on this cruise - as auntlynne's roommate. :cool1: She has graciously invited me to share her cabin. Doug has to miss this cruise due to work. :sad2:

I recognize quite a few names from the Panama Canal cruise and am looking forward to seeing everyone. By the time this cruise comes around, I'll be Platinum, so that's exciting, too.

Looking forward to the FE and Scavenger Hunt portion of the cruise. And after the fiasco with the pins on the PC cruise, I will probably not bother to collect any this time. Alan, couldn't agree more that the pin situation was a total disaster!

Hi Shirley! Welcome aboard!

Happy Day, all!

Jesserose- I really enjoyed reading your trip report. We did Alaska a few years ago with Princess. The report brought back many memories. Loved the Red Dog . It is really a unique place. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure if i have posted an intro yet - so here goes!

We are so excited to go to Hawaii!

This cruise will make #6 WOOHOO!

We are

Andrea, Joe (dh) and Lizzy she will be 7 when we cruise - how did THAT happen?

We are also taking my parents - they will have their own stateroom - we are GTY but HOPING they will be adjoining! Their Names are Norene and Marty.

I am so excited to do the FE - we have done that one all but our first cruise - and just love love love to come back to our room and have a little surprise each time! it's wonderful!

I cant wait to start planning excursions - so many things i want to do!
When we went on the MR cruise i had wanted to go horseback riding on the beach in Mazatlan, well, as you know Disney hasnt docked in Mazatlan, so we missed that.. maybe in Hawaii i will find someplace that offers that.. :)

I am very excited to go on this cruise - my little family has never been to Hawaii, my parents have, but not the three of us yet!!

Andrea in Vegas

Hi everyone, Haven't caught up in a few days, busy, busy, busy...you know what they say....A women's work is never done! :confused3

Welcome to the new cruisers! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I hope everyone happy and healthy :goodvibes

I haven't even had a chance to learn the names of the islands we are stopping at on the cruise and some of you are planning activities, Aargghh, need to catch up! Planning on having lot's of computer research time while breastfeeding the new baby, fingers crossed ;)
My friends who are coming on this cruise are getting excited as it will be their first cruise. Even though this will only be our second cruise I feel like I have some good knowledge about DCL from everyone here on DIS. I love talking with her about all the details, It's so nice to have someone to get excited with. I'm trying to get her over here to meet y'all and join the group excitement. :dance3:

Well, we are going to friends house for a late lunch today, need to go whip up a white choc cheesecake for the adults and some cupcakes for the kids, See....busy, busy, busy!! :thumbsup2

WOW! :scared1:
Just back from our 3 week adventure, Disneyland, the Pacific Cruise, 1st Alaska cruise and a couple days at the end in Vancouver! I am not even going to try to catch up on the 1600+ posts while we were gone!!!

Coming back to reality stinks! :sad1: Only 351 days till this cruise though!! :thumbsup2

Working on unpacking and laundry this weekend, then I'll start researhing what we want to do in Hawaii and possibly before and after the cruise! ;)
If I missed anything drastically important, somebody please give me a heads up!!

Thanks Birkner for all the links to the sights. Are you also looking into some private van tours? I wish Disney would come out with their excursions so we can make some plans.

Yes, I am looking into a number of different options on each island based on our time constraints. As I get more definitive answers from the tour companies, I will post.

Right now I am working more on my WBTA cruise in September so forgive me if I get a bit behind on this cruise.

Ciao for now, Noel

I bought 2 guide books but still can't remember the island names!! I do know that it is going to be very difficult to decide what to do in the short times we are on each island. They look stunning. The guide books are full of colour and breathtaking views!

Now Hayley, I think you should not be eating chocolate cheesecake in your condition so I will have your slice!!!!!;);) Thank you!!!

Can you post the recipe? I really fancy some now!!!:lmao:

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

WELCOME Aboard, new folks! We are me, my husband Bruce, and our teddy bears Dimples & OC. This will be #14 for us.

Rainy dreary day here in the North East. Looking forward to some SUNshine!

Happy Day, all!

Those of you taking the Transatlantic you will have a great time. We did the EBTA and loved all the sea days. The Disboarders had so many activities planned for those days, it was hard to choose what to do. Wish we were joining you.

QUOTE=newgeneb;41071978]Just found the thread :surfweb: Gene & Cheryl here :banana:lots of posts to catch up on:surfweb: This will be our 11th Dis cruise and i'm sure one of the best I think we have cruised with some of u before:banana:
I got our new wedding bands while we were in Dubai, so that is another thing to tick off the list. I also bid on the bouquet on Ebay and I hope that I will get it.

Weddingbouquet2.jpg

Corinna, the bouquet is lovely. Are you going to post pictures of your rings?
I am now working on my Fish Extender gifts for our next cruise. Our cruise meet thread for the Mexican Riviera cruise is a select little group so I was able to let my ideas run wild. The materials for most of the projects arrived while I was on vacation so I am now in craft heaven. I did the most work intensive things this morning. A lot of the stuff that I am making takes a while because of the drying time in between, but the work that goes into them is not a great deal. The cabin gifts will take a bit longer, but I will start to work on them next month.

Look forward to seeing your surprises - they are always so nice
Corinna[/QUOTE]

You are so creative, Corinna, costumes should be dead easy!

Amy Tan did a Hawaii album on her blog. I might be copying her! http://amytangerine.blogspot.com/2011/02/many-pictures-of-mini.html

Happy Day all!
Linda, thanks for posting this site, very interesting ideas.

Shirley, we are sooo pleased you will be joining our happy crew.QUOTE]

So is the one that someone posted pictures is closed ? :sad1:
No, the Dole Plantation Visitors Center is still open and has beautiful demonstration gardens and interesting sites. However, you will no longer see miles and miles of pineapple and sugar fields when you drive around the islands. The actual Dole factory, where you could watch them processing the pineapples is long gone. Dole stopped harvesting and processing pineapples in Hawaii in 2008. In 1922 Dole purchased the island of Lanai and converted it to the largest pineapple plantation in the world but harvesting stopped in 1992. There is almost no pineapples grown commercially in Hawaii. The last companies I know of, the Maui and Halimaile Pineapple Companys have closed too.

This was a great trip report, a nice mix of pictures and enjoyable journal. I would love to know what software he used. Thanks for posting the link.

Welcome!!
Welcome Shirley.......so going to hula with you!!

party: :welcome: :jumping1:
Sandy, the days of a coconut shell giving the 'girls' the lift they need are long gone. Do you know where you can get underwire shells???

I guess it makes sense not to bring our life jackets to the drills but I miss the fun of us all being out there with them on. It also seems to make it more real and important when we are there practicing to put them. Makes for great photo ops too. Here is one Bob took of a dad and his little guy in the infant suit. SOOO Cute

No good appealing to me Albert!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I can tell you the names of a couple of good guide books though!!;)

Thanks Noel, really helpful. Must persuade DW to research soon!

(Marilyn :rolleyes1:rolleyes1)

You are welcome. Once I get more tour information, I will post potential DIS tour options. Working on my WBTA stuff now. Is anyone interested in me making a Hawaii website to keep track of information?

With that info online, we can then create DIS navigators for ourselves.

Hi Shirley. Glad to see you will be on this one. I hope you will take the few min it will take to send off a email to DCL so we won't have the same problems as we did on the PC cruise.

From the feedback that I had from people who were on the first Alaska cruise, merchandise was handled just as badly on that cruise.

Welcome on board.

I will start on my trip report for Dubai soon, but wanted to share one of my favourite things. Next to the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa (the world's tallest building), they have the Dubai Fountain and they have a show every half hour from 6pm. This is the video that Graham took from the show that we watched. It is absolutely amazing: http://youtu.be/63Gl9Q5Gmps

Here is a couple of photos of my wedding band, the photo does not really do it justice as jewellery is so difficult to take photos of:

I wish I could share some of the goodies that I am making for our Mexican Riviera cruise. I have had so much fun putting them together. However, one of the families are hoping to join us for this cruise so I don't dare posting photos here.
