Nope, I just always mean to reply to a comment and then lose it so I post so that I know this is where I left off. Sorry, just my mental note to myself. :rotfl:

What a good idea. I noticed you had just posted on the other thread so wondered if you had posted on the wrong one as I have done that a couple of times in the past. Once I didn't notice for a day or so either.

Still lurking - but we would be on DVC - we cannot use Disney transportation if we are DVC :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Do you mean the DCL coach transfers? If this is the case, this must be a new rule. We have cruised on points before and were able to add the DCL transfers.

First day Promenade Lounge is perfect for a meet and greet. Around 3 usually works well. Later in the cruise DCL has activities scheduled and there is no way to know when those things happen (DVC, CC events, etc)
Thank you for a good suggestion.
We are in an 11 sideways and can offer our stateroom for the tour.
Thank you so much for offering your stateroom for the tour. I have added it to the list.
Kugalbelle- I sent you a PM. The first day on ship for the Meet and Greet would be good but usually everyone is hurrying to get back to their rooms for the life boat drill and we really do not get enough time to actually talk to many people. Whatever you decide I will be willing to help.
I agree that first day (embarkation day) is hectic but if we can get to meet everyone I think it may make such a difference to say "hello" on day one. I am collating all the data and we can then see what everyone's thoughts are and make a final decision based on that. Thank you for your feedback and kindly opening your stateroom for the tour - I have added it to the list.
My two previous cruises we had a casual meet by the pool. I liked the more relaxed first day of grabbing food at the buffet and sitting by the pool while the kids frolicked so well, that I did the same thing on our HAL Alaska cruise. I found this much more relaxed than the restraurant with carry on. The big difference on HAL being, we were the only ones there, and DD had the pool to herself! :)
Thank you for your feedback.
I think a poolside meet would be pretty difficult with a group this large.
I agree, thank you.
3 pm gives an hour to meet before having to get to drill. First meet would allow us to get faces with those names so that when we do see each other we can feel comfortable approaching and chatting. There may be several DIS activities throughout the cruise where we will be able to spend more time talking with those we have met. :yay::yay: Aloha!! :dance3:
This does seem to be a popular option. Thank you.

Hi everyone,
Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help and to those who have kindly offered their staterooms for the tour.
We still require more staterooms across all the categories so if you have not already done so and would like to offer your stateroom for the tour please let me know.
Will keep collecting feedback on the Meet and Greet so please keep your comments coming.

Hi everyone. I finally received the pricing from the Doubletree in San Pedro. I was able to get a better rate :)than I was originally quoted. It's only $139 per room whether it's single or double occupancy. There is an additional $10 per person for more than 2 people. The price is fully refundable if cancelled within 3 days of the check in date. They offer a free shuttle that goes within a few miles of the hotel.

Since I have reserved a limited number of rooms at this price, please PM me; email me at bweiss923@aol.com or call me at 215-219-5400.

I am also waiting for prices for the Candy Cane Inn; Queen Mary and Paradise Pier. If you want the Doubletree in San Pedro, please let me know ASAP.

Hope my Disney family has a great long weekend celebrating the 4th of July.

As far as the meet goes, I know I will be at the cove at that time or BBB. You will always be able to find in Wavebands at the bar until closeing. Or on a few nights making my own late night drinks on deck 9.

The $139 is also the same as the AAA rate too. I have ressies there and Candy Cane Inn and after final payment will try the Queen Mary. Has anyone ever stayed ?

Hi everyone,

Before we know it we'll all be packing for this ~*~*Wonderful~*~ cruise!
I would like to start organizing the Meet and Greet and Stateroom Tour.
Here are a couple of ideas and I would greatly value your feedback.

Meet and Greet
I know that everyone is very busy on the first day but it still may be our best option for a Meet and Greet. We would have to figure out the best time and place. Possibly in the Promenade Lounge, time would have to be finalized closer to the cruise. Another option since there are so many sea days is to have the Meet and Greet a few days into the cruise.

Stateroom Tour
As I'm sure everyone enjoys seeing other staterooms categories and their differences. I am looking for volunteer to offer their staterooms for the tour. At this stage we need staterooms in all categories. Please PM me if you would like to participate.

Anyone who would be prepared to assist me with organizing the Meet and Greet and/or Stateroom Tour please PM me too.

Thank you all in advance.

M&G - As I mentioned in my PM, what has seemed to work on past cruises is having the M&G at about 3:00 on our first day. at the M&G, in addition to an opportunity to visit, have it an opportunity for distribution of other DISboard things, i.e. lanyards, shirts, board navigators or whatever. Having it in the Promenade Lounge might work.

ROOM TOUR - Sign our cabin up for being on the room tour, cabin 6606, category 5C deluxe oceanview stateroom with verandah.

Let me know if there is anyway I can help.

Wahoo! We found space available! We put down our deposit last night! Now hopefully we'll be able to get off work!

Yippee!!!! Can't wait to cruise with you guys again....Hope everything is going okay in Alaska (we missed you guys on our Alaskan leg of the cruise)

We were really bummed not to get on the Alaska cruise! Especially after we found out from a local in Vancouver that it would have only cost like $500 total for the two of us with the last minute deal! <sigh> oh well...at least we live here now :cool1:

Keep your eyes open...the ship is drydocking in Victoria, and will sail to AK again next summer!

took me a little while to figure it out but it's fairly easy once you get the hang of it...... instead of tapping "select all" tap "select" and you will get a bar with a dot on each end... move the dots either way to select what you want then hit copy, cut etc. then paste. Hope that makes sense as I am not the most technologically adept person ... :rolleyes1 Right Bob? ;)

YEP!:goodvibes

Hi everyone,
Happy 4th!!! We are enjoying our first 4th of July on the west coast and soaking up every ray of sun and embracing all that SoCal has to offer. It's like being on vacation even though we're at home.
Have a safe and wonderful weekend and remember to think of all the animals that get frightened by the fireworks.
Regards
Charmaine

Thank you so much Valerie for all your input and assistance. Appreciate your suggestions greatly. Also, thank you for offering your stateroom for the tour, I have added it to the list.

Thank you for your feedback.
You are welcome. It's just a rutine we have. Of course all of our cruises have been of of PC and we always use DCL transportation so we get to the ship about 1:30. Now since cruise leaves from our back yard I think we might be there earlier.

MY FE GIFTS ARE IN! :dance3: MY FE GIFTS ARE IN!:dance3:

And OMG they are tooooo cute. My only regret is that I only got 12 of the really cute ones but I'm going back to see if I can order more they are toooo cute but I don't think anyone will be disappointed with my generic gift. ;) All I'm going to say is that it will be handy for many of us. :lmao::lmao:

:banana::banana:

Can y'all tell I'm excited? Hurry up April, I can't wait!!!! Anyone know what we are up too yet? Just a roundabout figure?

Well that serves me right for not checking in for about a month!

Do you label your FEs with your DisName so the receiver knows who it is from, or do you just leave it anonymous?

You could go north, up the coast and do Hearst Castle in San Simeon, then up through Carmel and Monterey. IMO driving from LA up the coast is the direction to go - same beautiful scenery without being cliff side. :scared1:

Our FE gifts typically have had a note or something with our name on them or screamed New Zealand so its pretty darn obvious its from us.

We are planning to drive from Anaheim up to SF via Yosemite stopping at Hearst Castle, Carmel/Monterey later this month (loving how that sounds!) and would be happy to report back on our experience for anyone interested - we will also be posting on FB so feel free to friend me - I'm the only Paula Sillars to the best of my knowledge on there. Let me know you come from the Dis.

We just managed to book, well, I better clarify. I just booked, Candida (DW) doesn't know yet. Think I might wait until Christmas to tell her. So, any of her FB friends please don't tell her. So many familiar names and faces. It will be good to see you all again.

Looking forward to sailing with you both again!

Goodness, keep forgetting to check in on the DIS. :wave2: everyone. Y'all been busy haven't you? :lmao:

 less than two weeks until we meet again Laura! Can't wait!

so I don't want to start any sort of political dialogue or bru-haha here on the thread....but I am excited to say that we aren't certain about details because we haven't set a firm date yet...but that there is a VERY good chance that following the vote last night in the NY state senate that this cruise to Hawaii will be my and Jason's official honeymoon!!!

(We're definitely getting married legally at the courthouse the first day the new law goes into effect so that we have the papers and benefits.....but then we're going to plan a ceremony/reception for friends and family later on with some time to plan....and one of our possible plans is to do it right before this cruise so that this can be our honeymoon :lovestruc:lovestruc)

I was so thrilled when I heard the law change in NY, I have a lot of gay friends both here and around the world and I see no reason why straight people should be the only ones to find that special person to live with (and torment) for the rest of their lives in married bliss. JK about the torment bit - seriously, I'm totally thrilled for you both! :lovestruc :cloud9:

Thanks, that's what I'm use to as well. I just want to clarify it for this group so anyone affected knows what is expected.

There has been a discussion about this on the facebook group page with a decided tilt to the direction that lanyards do not count as FE gifts.

That us why I do not like having two group discussion locations for the same event. There are two conversations going on. I think one party decided not to participate in FE as a result--but that could be another cruise thread ( hard to keep track sometimes)

maybe someone can check in over there and clarify--Jackie?? Can you.
