Oh, that's a really good point, I hadn't thought of that. I'm good with anything.I think a poolside meet would be pretty difficult with a group this large.

Marking my spot. Nevermind me.![]()
Did you post on the wrong thread?![]()
Nope, I just always mean to reply to a comment and then lose it so I post so that I know this is where I left off. Sorry, just my mental note to myself.![]()
Still lurking - but we would be on DVC - we cannot use Disney transportation if we are DVC![]()
Thank you for a good suggestion.First day Promenade Lounge is perfect for a meet and greet. Around 3 usually works well. Later in the cruise DCL has activities scheduled and there is no way to know when those things happen (DVC, CC events, etc)
Thank you so much for offering your stateroom for the tour. I have added it to the list.We are in an 11 sideways and can offer our stateroom for the tour.
I agree that first day (embarkation day) is hectic but if we can get to meet everyone I think it may make such a difference to say "hello" on day one. I am collating all the data and we can then see what everyone's thoughts are and make a final decision based on that. Thank you for your feedback and kindly opening your stateroom for the tour - I have added it to the list.Kugalbelle- I sent you a PM. The first day on ship for the Meet and Greet would be good but usually everyone is hurrying to get back to their rooms for the life boat drill and we really do not get enough time to actually talk to many people. Whatever you decide I will be willing to help.
Thank you for your feedback. My two previous cruises we had a casual meet by the pool. I liked the more relaxed first day of grabbing food at the buffet and sitting by the pool while the kids frolicked so well, that I did the same thing on our HAL Alaska cruise. I found this much more relaxed than the restraurant with carry on. The big difference on HAL being, we were the only ones there, and DD had the pool to herself!![]()
I agree, thank you.I think a poolside meet would be pretty difficult with a group this large.
This does seem to be a popular option. Thank you.3 pm gives an hour to meet before having to get to drill. First meet would allow us to get faces with those names so that when we do see each other we can feel comfortable approaching and chatting. There may be several DIS activities throughout the cruise where we will be able to spend more time talking with those we have met.Aloha!!

Hi everyone,
Before we know it we'll all be packing for this ~*~*Wonderful~*~ cruise!
I would like to start organizing the Meet and Greet and Stateroom Tour.
Here are a couple of ideas and I would greatly value your feedback.
Meet and Greet
I know that everyone is very busy on the first day but it still may be our best option for a Meet and Greet. We would have to figure out the best time and place. Possibly in the Promenade Lounge, time would have to be finalized closer to the cruise. Another option since there are so many sea days is to have the Meet and Greet a few days into the cruise.
Stateroom Tour
As I'm sure everyone enjoys seeing other staterooms categories and their differences. I am looking for volunteer to offer their staterooms for the tour. At this stage we need staterooms in all categories. Please PM me if you would like to participate.
Anyone who would be prepared to assist me with organizing the Meet and Greet and/or Stateroom Tour please PM me too.
Thank you all in advance.
Wahoo! We found space available! We put down our deposit last night! Now hopefully we'll be able to get off work!
Yippee!!!! Can't wait to cruise with you guys again....Hope everything is going okay in Alaska (we missed you guys on our Alaskan leg of the cruise)
We were really bummed not to get on the Alaska cruise! Especially after we found out from a local in Vancouver that it would have only cost like $500 total for the two of us with the last minute deal! <sigh> oh well...at least we live here now![]()
took me a little while to figure it out but it's fairly easy once you get the hang of it...... instead of tapping "select all" tap "select" and you will get a bar with a dot on each end... move the dots either way to select what you want then hit copy, cut etc. then paste. Hope that makes sense as I am not the most technologically adept person ...Right Bob?

Thank you for your feedback. As far as the meet goes, I know I will be at the cove at that time or BBB. You will always be able to find in Wavebands at the bar until closeing. Or on a few nights making my own late night drinks on deck 9.
Thank you so much Valerie for all your input and assistance. Appreciate your suggestions greatly. Also, thank you for offering your stateroom for the tour, I have added it to the list.M&G - As I mentioned in my PM, what has seemed to work on past cruises is having the M&G at about 3:00 on our first day. at the M&G, in addition to an opportunity to visit, have it an opportunity for distribution of other DISboard things, i.e. lanyards, shirts, board navigators or whatever. Having it in the Promenade Lounge might work.
ROOM TOUR - Sign our cabin up for being on the room tour, cabin 6606, category 5C deluxe oceanview stateroom with verandah.
Let me know if there is anyway I can help.
You are welcome. It's just a rutine we have. Of course all of our cruises have been of of PC and we always use DCL transportation so we get to the ship about 1:30. Now since cruise leaves from our back yard I think we might be there earlier.Thank you for your feedback.
Do you label your FEs with your DisName so the receiver knows who it is from, or do you just leave it anonymous?
You could go north, up the coast and do Hearst Castle in San Simeon, then up through Carmel and Monterey. IMO driving from LA up the coast is the direction to go - same beautiful scenery without being cliff side.![]()
We just managed to book, well, I better clarify. I just booked, Candida (DW) doesn't know yet. Think I might wait until Christmas to tell her. So, any of her FB friends please don't tell her. So many familiar names and faces. It will be good to see you all again.
Goodness, keep forgetting to check in on the DIS.everyone. Y'all been busy haven't you?

so I don't want to start any sort of political dialogue or bru-haha here on the thread....but I am excited to say that we aren't certain about details because we haven't set a firm date yet...but that there is a VERY good chance that following the vote last night in the NY state senate that this cruise to Hawaii will be my and Jason's official honeymoon!!!
(We're definitely getting married legally at the courthouse the first day the new law goes into effect so that we have the papers and benefits.....but then we're going to plan a ceremony/reception for friends and family later on with some time to plan....and one of our possible plans is to do it right before this cruise so that this can be our honeymoon)
Thanks, that's what I'm use to as well. I just want to clarify it for this group so anyone affected knows what is expected.
