April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Wonder to Hawaii- who is with me? pt2

I was under the impression that they only did it differently during the Alaskan cruises. I know that a Taste of Alaska Menu replaced the normal Pirate Night menu.

This is true. It was not the Taste of Alaska menu though. On my Alaska cruise they switched pirate night with semiformal night because the Ketchikan excursions lasted too long for guests to be able to dress up for semiformals. Juneau was semiformal night, and Ketchikan was pirate night. There was a different menu, not the pirate menu (which was thrilling because I am sick to death of the pirate menu) but the guests wore pirate costuming (I only had a pirate tee shirt, some went a bit more elaborate) the pirate show was done (indoors, as it was raining) and the pirate buffet took place in Beach Blanket (I didn't go). No fireworks, but 1) they weren't permitted on the Alaska cruises and 2) it was raining. They gave out bandannas too. Really the only big difference besides the menu and the fireworks was that they had to do stuff indoors.

I know the (new) semiformal night had the captain's menu because it had lobster. I was in Palo and someone there had the lobster sent up. However I don't recall what menu we had on Pirate Night. I only know it was not Taste of Alaska because on that one I had elk, I took a picture of it and I'm sure the picture is not from Triton's, and we were in Triton's on pirate night.

And it's always Pirates IN the Caribbean. They don't care where the ship is. I've been to Pirates IN the Caribbean night in the Mediterranean, the Baltic, Mexico and Alaska.

Tell the friends again, as of 2:39 P.M. PDT there is a 5B open for a tiny sum of $8,977.42 for 2 adults.

I got my Fish Extender that I had made for this cruise this week so I thought I will show it off. As Stitch is my second favourite character after Figment, I really could not pass up this opportunity:

OMG, Corinna, please pm me too. I LOVE this FE. One of my favorite parts of Lilo and Stitch is the end where they show the pics of the characters, including the turtle and the leaf. Wish they had prints of those...I'd buy 'em.

I can't wait to see what kinds of menus they'll have for us. And I'm with you...sick of the pirate night menu.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: This makes me glad we have an inside cabin. There's got to be a ton of stuff we can do w/all that $$$.

I LOVE it!!! :)

I think this is the same lady who made mine for our may cruise. She really does wonderful work.

This is NOT the Fish Extender list.

Fish Extender is one of the pages on our Google Document. I do not understand Google Documents. Someone started it. There are several tabs. One for FE, one for Champagne Girls, one for info about everyone. As I recall--DIS names and real names are on there already.

oh, OK, then, I am already on the facebook list and the FE list, I think. I can check.

too many lists and activities to try to keep up with! That will make the whole trip even more fun:cheer2:

Love it!!

Did gradysmom on ebay make it for you? It's awesome.

A number of you have asked about the size conversion of shirts. I don't know it this will help, but I have a link to a document I pulled together with size measurements. I got these charts from the Hilo Hattie Hawiian clothes site. Note they indicate the measurements are without ease. I guess that to mean no extra room, fitted to the body. Also, the chest waist and bottom numbers given by our shirt company are 1/2 numbers so double them and their shirts do have ease - a lot. From what I see, the shirt company we use, their shirts run a little large

Hey Val...

Is there an up date on the shirt count....:surfweb: just wondering!! :confused3
Hope all is well with everyone....

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

The lady that does the FE is wonderful. She made us a Goofy one that is adorable.

We were supposed to go to Fl on Monday and spend a few days at Disney and go to the Halloween Party on Sept. 20 but we had to cancel our trip. I have been having some stomach issues and found out that the two hernias I had done a few years ago need to be repaired. The doctor did not tell me not to go but after he told me some signs to look for which would be signs to go to the ER we decided not to go. I was really looking forward to our first Halloween Party. I am glad it happened now and not before our cruise. I hope to get this taken care of as soon as possible.

I managed to snatch up one of the 9D cabins available yesterday. (Thanks Robin!) so I am new to this thread and so much to catch up on. This will be my second Hawaiian cruise.

Here is the current count:

Material

33 yards

total - adults - 72 children - 6

I try to check the e-mails everyday or so and update the posting on page one, third posting of this thread. I have heard from the shirt company and updated them on the count. Also, explained we most likely won't be putting in our order until a few days after the cruise final payment date, the end of December. They caution that the shop is closed the first two weeks in January and to be careful of our time. There are a lot of pros and cons in waiting. I understand people don't want to put out this much money for a shirt when they might end up cancelling the cruise. Also have concern about the holiday timing of the date. Additionally, 33 yards of material have been ordered. I know I will need time to make something. It is difficult.

So sorry to hear of your stomach issues. Hope all is resolved soon.

Hey Jackie and PeggyJo:
I am in Valparaiso at the Popcorn Parade and Hebron High School band just passed playing My Country Tis of Thee. Sorry--no camera. They had on t-shirts, not uniforms and on the backs of their black T-shirts in hot pink it said "super band"

Wow, that is more than $1200 over what it was for 2 adults on opening day. I am sooooo glad we booked early!

:welcome: I am happy you were able to snag a room!

Corinna, that FE is too adorable! I am thinking there will be plenty of opportunities for you to see Stitch on this cruise! :goodvibes I also hope you have a great cruise and vow renewal and come back with plenty of photos!

I wish safe travels for everyone cruising (and flying/riding/driving) soon! It seems to be a busy time for upcoming trips!

Hi Angie! You're not kidding. You should try having to cook for my bunch when they're all together...one of the most exasperating tasks ever! Thank heavens my DH is so easygoing; he eats anything I serve and always tells me it's great. He's so darn sweet .
We have a crowd living at our house as well....they get what I serve, no special orders! :) Yes, Wayne IS darn sweet!!
:wave2::wave2: Hi Angie!
Howdy, Albert!!

I see all the open cabins have been snatched up.:thumbsup2
There is a cat4 available this morning....a mere $10,000 for 2 adults and it can be yours!

Val, I know this has been discussed to death, but...:) Although final payment is not due until the end of Dec, it seems reasonable to have a mid Dec cut off for decision on the shirts if this would reduce the stress for you and the shirt company considering they shut down 2 weeks in Jan. Surely one would know by holiday time if you were not going to be able to make the Dec 31 deadline for final payment.
