I talked to Bev and she wanted me to pass this along.........Bev isn't able to get on the Dis at work. Everything is fine with the Doubletree and not to worry. Bev will check in here after work today.:)

Well Doubletree says they have nothing there for us under any name according to some so hopefully she can check and see how they want us to "call" our reservation so some of us can make additional arrangements :) Thanks Tina!

I totally understand Judy ! My guess and just my guess is that people checking don't know the name it is under, Bev is a TA and my guess would be under that. She says everything is fine and not to worry. I would also think that Bev has to give everyone there reservation number. This is my thinking. :confused3 Again Bev will stop by after work and I am sure everything will be cleared up. :)

In case anyone would like to try and organize a 3rd (or maybe it is 4th?) group for the Palo Brunch, I can provide you with all the information.

It is crazy easy, I'm just sorry I had to turn so many people away after we were full.

But the 9th has been taken. Let us hope nothing changes between now and when we get on board. :woohoo:

....
I understand the frustration with the DISboards, even though I understand the servers have been upgraded, I don't see any improvement, it is still slow and often times out. However, I personally have a thing about Facebook, plus they've locked me out of my account because I won't give them my cell phone number. I have no interest in texting - fine if others want to do it - but not while you are walking down the street, into traffic, while you are suppose to be in a conversation with me ............

Thats weird....I never gave FB my cell phone and never will, but I was never locked out......

Nope, never gave FB my cell either, or any personal info for that matter...(so I don't need to worry about the sharing or networking on there at all). Wonder what the deal is?? :confused3 I've used it since 2008 & never was asked to provide that...??

The thing about fb is it is just simply faster & easier, and sometimes I just don't have the time to struggle with the DIS. Sure miss te cute little emoticons on there though! :hippie:

ETA: I do agree that the "buck stops here" with the final word in planning though - the DIS has been the best place for keeping records & everyone being able to access it. It can get too confusing to keep lists in different places, so good to have one central place. My impatience gets the best of me on the DIS usually, though...lol

My FEs are done; had them planned a year ago while I was in Hawaii; yup that is the only hint I'll give ya. Packing my suitcase for the MV of the Fantasy with two girlfriends; I am sure it will be a memorable experience.

Finally got some rain here in Cali; we'll take anything we can get.

Happy Goofy---I haven't forgotten the 'box' I'm bringing you and DH.

ALOHA for now.

My issue isn't so much with Facebook but people texting when, for safety reasons, they shouldn't be.

I only access Facebook from my PC. When I tried to post a reply I was asked to give my cell phone number as a security response. It didn't like the number I gave and put a block on my account?? I haven't bothered to try and resolve it.

One more Stitch image to add to the wonderful images that have already been posted.

Pixiegran:
It is about 4 hours give or take to drive from Disneyland to Las Vegas. :car:If you leave Disneyland during traffic it adds about 90 minutes to the trip.
We have even left LV at 5:00am drove to DL, hung out until 8:00 or so and drove back home in one day. That was on a Wednesday and my DH did not have to go to work the next day but it is possible to do that.
Come visit it is a very nice place and we are very friendly here.:goodvibes

Not usually a Stitch fan, but this one is so cute, I might have to take him home!

Walgreens has kids tee shirts on sale, 4 for $10. At my local store, they had a pile in JUST the right shade of blue to match our Hawaiian shirts.

Can you tell me how long a drive is it to Vegas from Disneyland? Have you done it?
We have never been there...mainly because my daughter and I both have asthma and smoke kills my breathing...but in the back of our mind we are thinking about driving there after we recover from cruise at Disneyland :rotfl: and just spending the night so we can "see" the neon and maybe visit the flamingos. We are heading to SF to spend a few days with my best friend- who will be with us in Disneyland..but may be able to bribe her to take the long way home :cool1:

Already been answered but from my house to Vegas it's 267 miles and wv've made it in just under 4 hours but that was at the early hours of the morn. Don't bother leaving after 1 pm on a Friday. CA drivers are crazy and fast and sometimes going 75 mph is too slow. Course you leave late you will be going less than 10 mph. You should go, Vegas is wonderful especially at night.

BRILLIANT! Glad to know I'm not the ONLY one who visits Sally Ann:lovestruc

She is NOT kidding! We used to live in Victorville. Let me just say - don't do it on Friday afternoon, lol.

Sally Ann, Good Times (goodwill) are great bargains. Plus it helps that I made friends with the receiver. ;). I had to pass up a brand new still in box 5" LCD screen as I just couldn't swing it. It's so bad around here that when the new Target stuff comes in people literally wait around the swinging doors and grab as they tote the rolling cart out.

Thanks for reminding me I wanted to ask this group about the dry cleaning.....Since our Formal night is our first sea day.....will we have time? I thought it took one day????

Thanks.

As soon as you board on Sunday, take out what you need and tell your stateroom host. Put it in a bag and hang it in your room and it'll be back the next day in plenty of time and won't be charged the excess overnight fee even though it is. I've done it the last 8 cruises so I know it can be done. Just inform your stateroom host and if he or she doesn't stop by early like our last one did (he stopped by in the night) make sure you call.

Ps - sometimes I even have it early in the morning like ore lunch time. I get back from lunch and it's already waiting for me. Love it when they include a basket I always stick it in the closet for the trip and leave it out when I go. One day It just might make it home with me. :rotfl2:

Do you remember the cost? I plan on having a couple dresses done.

Oops... I had no idea we had to wait.

The e-mail address you send it to is:
dclfuntionrequests@disney.com

Make sure you include what cruise you are trying to make the reservation for (I said Wonder Hawaiian Cruise) and I think the day we set sail helps. Also, what day you are looking to reserve and the total number of adults.

They want your information first. Then I just used this for each room:

(# of adults) - Primary Name of Reservation (First and Last)
Reservation #
Room #

Then I included my contact information at the bottom just in case.

Hope this helps!

Yup, way back in '05 I took a pic of both Cpt Tom and Thord as we were going thru the 1st lock, on the way back later that summer, I managed to print a copy for both Cpts. Cpt Thord was so astonished he told me he loved the picture(they were both looking at the clearance on the side of the lock) and would love to give it to his sons. He even asked if I wanted him to sign an extra copy I had. Then, whenever we ran into him, he always made it a point to say something nice. I did sail With Cpt Henry once or twice and he's sooo nice, I want him to be my grandfather. :)

As for Christian? Add me to the list of haters. Way back on the Winder's 11 nightly, I had a problem and he took my compliment said hed get back to me and never did when I followed up again a few days later, he didn't remember. He colored my image of what ships officers were like and it's taken many more cruises to realize, he just isn't a nice guy. He is arrogant and he doesn't seem to like us dis-sets very much and every time I gather the courage to ask him something, he just looks at you and doesn't seem to give a fig. So he's not my favorite. Perhaps why he's on her instead right? Heck, I'd take Peter over him and he was almost equal in my book. Naw, he's better. Not to mention funnier.

Oh that was so much fun, and I have formal long gloves I could wear this time. :cloud9:

What a lovely story.

Christian seems to have such a fan club that I could not believe what came out of his mouth at times.

I had Corinna include this on the Mini-Navigator she is doing...

Kids' meet up at 10am on Monday, April 30th at the Wide World of Sports Deck

I have this under control. Once my end of quarter paperwork is handed in just before Easter, it will be full steam ahead with the Navigator.

Did you get this solved?

:confused3 wondering what you will be making!!

I hope so. I am just about to send another PM. It won't be me doing anything with this as I cannot sew to safe my life, but I found a seller on Etsy who is happy to work with me on this.

OK, So I have ordered a Disney pillowcase for each of the kids in my FE group, My thoughts are that they could have them autographed. I am assuming DCL will not let me get that many things autographed?
So, If I deliver them in the first couple of days, with instructions, Do you think people could take their own pillowcases to guest services?
They are Disney pillowcases, so if they don't get autographed they are still a very cute FE gift. :goodvibes
What do y'all think?

PS - Don't tell the kids :thumbsup2

That sounds fantastic.

Hi all ... Haven't been around for a while ... Darn work and life keep getting in the way! ... Dang it! Anyhow 23 Celcius here in Ontario today (that's 73 F). Broke records!!! Waiting for the bubble to burst though, never this nice this early!

On another note, was wondering what was happening with the Doubletree discount rate.. I tried to email mickeymom923, but her inbox is full. If anyone has any information, can they please pm me. Thanks!

MJ

I can only dream of 23 Celcius. Even in the summer this is pushing it a bit.

Thanks for reminding me I wanted to ask this group about the dry cleaning.....Since our Formal night is our first sea day.....will we have time? I thought it took one day????

Thanks.

I did this on the Mexician Riviera cruise. I left the laundry bag on the bed before the early show on the first evening and I think it was back by lunch time the next day.

I've sent Bev and e-mail asking her to PM you. I am sure you understand I don't feel I can share any of the info, such as e-mail address, I was given when people ordered shirts, without their permission.

:thumbsup2 absolutely!! I have, however, learned to send text messages (never when I am walking or in a conversation with someone :scared) because that is the only way I can get a response from DGS 21 and from DDIL. :sad2:

Nope, never gave FB my cell either, or any personal info for that matter...(so I don't need to worry about the sharing or networking on there at all). Wonder what the deal is?? :confused3 I've used it since 2008 & never was asked to provide that...??

I have to disagree that FB is faster and easier. I get upwards of 20-30 emails everyday that I have to just delete telling me that someone has posted on the Hawaii FB page. I know I can turn off the email notifications, but I WANT email notifications of FB messages to me from my family and friends. The Hawaii notifications are just a bother and when I sign on to FB I am notified that there are "6" or "8" or whatever posts on the Hawaii FB page, but no way for me to know if it is 6 posts on one subject or posts on several different subjects so I wind up looking over the whole page - once again - to see what was recently posted. This is not, in my opinion, faster than just scanning thru one DIS thread, skipping over posts that do not pertain to me. Just my two cents. I think I will not be participating in FB on future cruises. I will just stick with the DIS.

can I lose 40 pounds in 40 days....NO! guess you'll just have to love all of me!
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

And we do too!! :grouphug:

Send it NOW!

No, no....you don't have to wait. THEY will assign on March 29 (30 days prior to cruise), BUT they assign based on first come first served requests. So, if there are 9 sea days and 11 requests, the first 9 they receive are honored. So, send with a requested day, but note that you will take any available at this late date. When I did this we sent our requests almost a year ahead of sailing.

I was wondering if there are any definitive dates for the Palo brunch for group one. I know I signed my husband and I up but never heard the date. Also I too am looking fr the room lists fr the candy exchange.
