Someone had posted that if we had a Shutters photograper take our group pix there would be a $75.00 "sitting fee". Well, I was talking to my DH about this and he said he would pay the fee so we all could have a nice picture taken by a professional and we wouldn't have to worry about being kicked out of some area for blocking stairs or whatever. And we wouldn't have to worry about someone with a bunch our camaras that all seem to look alike getting mixed up.

So, once we settle on when and where to have our group picture, I will call DCL and make sure they can accoumadate us.

Lissa

This may have been answered, but in the past, they've waived this fee for us. The camera shop is not owned by Disney so they may have different rules, but they've always give us the spiel about charging, especially like on The princess formal shot of the ladies in our formal attire, we covered the front atrium and even up the stairs but they eventually realized not to charge us and as far as I knoww, they haven't charged the dis group for a picture like this. Might want to bend the ear and become friends with the manager to bypass this charge. Just saying....

You were changed on original list!

Thank you Heather! I most likely forgot to notify everyone. I'm spastic like that. Now that we're close to sailing, I'm returning to my roots here on the dis. Lol

Shutterfly has an easy way to create a site and share pictures and order prints if you want. I have a family website that I do with them and it is easy and great, and I can take this off your plate Val. All I need is everyone's email addresses and I can get it started.

:goodvibes

We did this back in '08 on the PC cruise and it worked wonderfully. One person ended up losing their camera on an excursion but was able to compile some memories shots from all the other "pirates" as we're we're known. Also, it was wonderful to see the different vantage points and angles of some of the same shots. I can't remember who lost the camera but they posted they were so grateful that they were able to print out some magical memories for future use. We even had some very creative people make a sideshow to music out of the shots.

Not sure if there is a max of shots but I've been know to take over 10,000 on extended cruises/vacations. I used to carry all my lenses (canon30d, 40d, and 50d along with all kinds of special lenses. Now, I've pared down to one camera, my 50D, and one zoom lens and a canon G10 which ends up replacing the heavy camera 1/2 way thru most cruises. My hands are small for my size and they get tires easily.

Anyway, if someone wants to spearhead, let me know and I'll volunteer any pics I take. You never know what'll happen on this cruise. Btw, I am not volunteering. I am NOT that organized nor that tech savvy..

Signed........

Anything that can go wrong most likely will. :rotfl2:

Not that I am tech savy but the new technology helps out...

Ok, having a major brainfart here and I've been staring at this iPad for hours and now a few more brain cells are dead, um someone explain to me in kindergarten terms, how many STATEROOMS (except, for the 4 ladies sharing 2 cabins) we have? :scratchin

Reason being, I was looking at my gifts and all of a sudden I thought, omg, I need 325. One for each group but one side of the brain is saying there's duplicates and I remember padlyn or cayla's list having something like 100. Is that right. So if I'm giving one per stateroom I'm ok. Again, taking I to effect the 4 ladies sharing. Ugh, :headache: brain hurts.

I am using this chart to make it easy -
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq5ebcCJmFomdHY0dWJEMGw2eTNFbW9YakhZZV9nWlE#gid=0

Corrina made this list and according to it we have 93 separate people and/or cabins. So if you were ok with 100 you should be in great shape from what I see.

Thanks Judy! Just need verification that my logical side of the brain wasn't dead. Lol. I really need to stay of the iPad for a few days. Its killing my brain cells. :rotfl2: (yeah right)

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I'm in for the photo sharing. If Serbian Princess wants to Organize it, MORE power to her! What a herculean task!

Is it possible that we can tag our groups of photos with the event / excursion / location or whatever so they can be searched?

Jan, I lined my skirt as well to assist with the fraying on the inside. I used a gored idea, sorry no pattern to post as I adapted one from the tiered skirt abandonment. I felt elastic was easier, and because of elastic the gored has less fabric at the waist. I sorta need the extra fabric at the hips.
 You are tiny, I saw you pattern size .....:hippie:

Lining also helps with the waist band casing.

The downside of using a gored pattern is that it will take the entire two yards in order to get the border to work.

:lmao: there is no way anyone would call me tiny except maybe The Hulk. :rotfl:

My dress is ankle length and I posted the picture of it on a hanger since it looks skinnier there than on me. You are not the only one with hips.

The photography crew is VERY familiar with Jon and Candida also (Pilk) and Corinna. :thumbsup2 Perhaps someone can name drop for us.

Yes, there are a few of us grown kids that get to know the photographers very well.:goodvibes We usually get the CD so we make it worth while.

Jon

OK, so I will defer to those more savy than I with the photographers. If someone already has a relationship with them, the better for us. So, whatever those with experience think is best works for me. Just know, that if we get some photog who refuses to waive the sitting fee, we would pay.

I think the shutterfly idea is a great one, the site is very user friendly.

Lissa

Then a longer skirt.....It is the tropics, bare legs are fine.

If you have two yards you will have enough material for a longer skirt....you will have to join it and cut the border off :scared1:

:confused3. Why cut off the border ?? :confused3

Thanks deb and yes we have made several changes in the last week and im not sure who has what anymore??? When people have pmd me changes weve done them on the original sheet which im not sure everyone is using. I still also have a GTY for Mermaid Loving and the 3 ladies nodisname cancelled cruise.

I have tried to compare my assorted lists with yours on a regular basis.

Wrong ship unfortunately. I was well known to the photographers on the Magic, but have not been able to build the same relationships on the Wonder. Of all the photographers I met on the Panama Canal cruise, only one of them was still on the Wonder when we did our Mexican Riviera cruise.

Corinna

Brought my shirt to the seamstress today. It had to be shortened. To keep the border on the bottom I will have to have a seam around the shirt where it was cut and then the border put back. I hope it will look all right. I really did not have a choice.

Anyone doing the dinner package at the Italian Resturant for WOC We are doing it for 4:00 on the 27th - anyone want to join my husband and myself?

:goodvibes. I am sure it will look great !! :thumbsup2

This would be so great if people post candid shots even if they do not know the cruisers
(unless the people look awful--delete those :rotfl:)

Lots of times we get a good photo but do not know who to send it to. This way, those people or someone who knows them would find it.

Is the group photo a Dis group picture or a specialty shirt picture? :confused3

I vote for everyone to be in it who wants to be. A DIS photo!!

I don't think I knew this !! (if I did, it leaked out of my brain and was lost when my computer died! ). Is it still available? Could you post or PM me the link? Our DIS thread is still going, that much I do remember... :upsidedow

Thanks

Jan

I have a small available in the custom shirts, if anyone is interested. I bought an extra when Val received a few, but don't really need it.

PM me if interested. We could do paypal & I'll send it to you if you want it before you board, otherwise I can just bring it.
:hippie:

here are a few more possible secret mickey images

For those of you who have sent me PMs asking about ordering cruise shirts, I am sorry but I don't have any more shirts and the manufacturer would not be able to get us any more in time. I suggest you post your request and maybe someone has a shirt they no longer want.

My other suggestion would be to have a tee shirt made or make one yourself using an iron-on, from the design on the shirts. Here is a link to my Flicker account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rmvandy/6990435335/in/photostream. I've been working on a new image of the design that I think works better on a tee then anything else I had put out there.

I remember my comment: yes, unfortunately, the CM's on the Womder are different than the Magic. The Wonder hasn't had the same magic for some reason. However, I did find the manager to be a very helpful person.....

It's just a matter of time Corinna. Lol, usually for long cruises, well at least in the past, they try and bring back known personnel for the returners. My son says that the "guests" complain too much if their aren't any familiar faces for them to interact with. Lol.

With that being said, my oldest DD and her bf will be sailing the MR next week, I can ask her to find out who will be on board in regards to the ships personnel. That way she can warm it up for us. She is a Dis-ser. Low key but I'm sure they're preparing for us next month. For the newbies onboard, won't they be surprised. :rotfl2::cool1::rotfl2:

Hi Jan, I'll ask around, if not, I'll see if I can burn a copy of one disc that was sent to me. It did work well right, I took lots of pics of people I forgot their names and a few were like wow, thanks. That's always fun. Let me check on the site and if it's still up. I don't usually go back to the threads on the dis but I am in contact with quite a few stil,l in fact, hoping for a mini-reunion of the PC come May next year. Wanna join? ;)
