Ok - I have been looking at this list that Heather created....she has done so much work it is overwhelming.

I have two different names for the same cabin that are very similar...is this one person (typo)? or are there two different people in the cabin??

Thats is the same person, just a typo. She agreed to go into 8 out of 9 because that would make even and not make the one group go over what they wanted but other people are adding so really doesnt matter LOL
 
I am working on a bit more detailed version of the Fish Extender groupings as I am giving individual gifts rather than cabin gifts. There are a number of names that I am not sure if they are male or female. I will post a list of the corresponding DIS Names and then names in question. I don't think animosity is the right word. Frustration covers it much more accurately. I have had an absolute nightmare pulling information together for the various activities that I am heading up. Some people are only on here, some only on Facebook and some can't be bothered to check in and respond to requests for information through either medium and then complain if they have been left off something.

I have to agree,I am a BIG facebook person but for doing the FE it was awful. I sent out tons of pms asking people if they wanted to be added or not and some just dont check and now week later im getting replys. I mean I know people work and have a life and actually when im at work all I can get is facebook on phone( dont tell anyone though LOL) but too have to post here and there and get answer fom there and then forget to update thats why so much gets left off.
 

I rented through a broker (mentioned a few pages back) in both Maui and Kauai. Both times, I got Alamo, and, according to the email I got, supposedly they have a shuttle. Either place though, if there isn't, I'll just grab a cab.

As far a formal nights are concerned - since it really doesn't matter WHAT one wears except to Palo, I pack always the same - long black skirt, short black skirt, shiny black pants, and 7 black, glittery, or lacy tops. In some combination, they take me to pretty much every dinner. DH takes a dress shirt or two, jacket and tie. I tried to talk him into just taking hawaiian shirts this trip but he actually LIKES to dress up.

Went in for my annual GYN exam and tests last Friday. Got a call last night that I have to come in today to take another mamogram because of something they found on the first. Also, have to go have an pelvic unltrasound tomorrow due to another find. So send me good wishes.

I used to go through this. Had to have an ultrasound with every mamo. Turned out I was drinking too much caffeine. I hope it is something as easy for you. Prayers and Pixie dust. fran
 
I got 2 requests this morning to add which I will do and then I think that should be last call. I know alot of people are making things and want a definite number plus weve gone over our allotted number( the ones im adding not meant for you) that majority had wanted 25 , but were not too far over so thats good.

Called DCL today to let them know we are staying at the Marriott LAX the night before the cruise. Was told that we will be given information when we check in and they will have a DCL representative at the hotel the morning of the cruise to guide us in the right direction. Hopefully I will be able to find a store near the hotel to buy some Pepsi so I can have some soda in the stateroom--maybe the gift shop in the hotel will have it.

Oh La La does look like it will be fun and goes perfectly with a PCG meet on the Fantasy. The men are all being good natured about it and ribbing each other about feather boas, tiaras and wearing pink :rotfl: I think it should make for an interesting picture in the end :laughing:

We initially had 65 sign up. Of those 15 or so were men. Sippers $5 and Guzzlers $10. I requested DCL to charge my stateroom for everything. When DCL got back to me they said our max was 40-50. They said they would require a guest list by 3/26 (we sail 3/31) with cabin numbers for each participant and they would charge $20 per person no cancellations, non refundable even if they don't show. They have not told me what the $20 per person includes or doesn't include. I have sent an e-mail back for clarification. I was told they did the same thing on the WBTA cruise.

I know we will have a blast! I am really looking forward to it and so are the rest of the "girls" :rotfl2:


That is different. We're not doing it that way. I'm collecting cash at the door and putting it on my stateroom bill. Did you pick out your own champagne? I always do that. Maybe because you're in the champagne bar? No matter what, you're going to have an awesome time. I can't wait to see your pictures. Have fun!!!!!!

just to let you all know....we will be gone for a week.....going on a pre inaugural Disney Fantasy to the Western Caribbean. I am not sure how much I will be online.....you never know how fast the internet will be.

There are people from every group that I know so everyone will be getting something from us. It just doesn't seem like a FE if you only give to 25 people.

I agree, we are only signed up for one group (group 4) but we have friends not in our group, so they will get FE gifts from us also! But we will just add them on our own.

(By the way, group 4, LynnG includes ScottH - some know Scott but not me)

I understand what Heather and Corinna are dealing with. I spent a lot of time putting together two lists of people's info that I'm missing and need for the CG. I posted it on FB. Then I put together another list combining the two and posted it over here. It is double the work when you have to work with both forums.....FB and DIS. BUT the most frustrating thing is when you don't get a response. I only heard from two people after posting all those lists of names. I don't know if I should delete the others that are signed up but not responding or just wing it and hope that they show up. My main problem is how much champagne to order. If they are all guzzlers I'll need more but if they're all honorary members then I'll need less.

Personally, I think it's rude and irresponsible to sign up for things and then leave the organizer hanging by not responding when they need more information. It's very frustrating. I think Heather and Corinna could agree.
 
Oops, need to put together some additional FE's for newbies. Thought I was done. I think I will wait until after cutoff - is that today? Oh well - fun, fun, coming up with new things! I Wanted to say: Heather you and your hubby have done a wonderful job, thanks for all the hard work. I have to say I kind of feel bad, I was one of the ones requesting groups, because I was worried about cost and transporation and I didn't understand what a big undertaking it was or the complexity of it until now. So again, Thank you!

To everyone that has been organizing events - what wonderful people you all are, I'm so excited for the fabulous time we will all be having due to this hard work. Just know - that it doesn't go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. :grouphug:

That sounds like a good solution, but they show up anyway. I have had people show up that have never signed up at all, but they are with someone who did. I don't turn them away. Some people don't even wear pink because they didn't know. I don't turn them away either.

I will either have lots of people that don't show up or if I take them off the list and they do show up, then I'll have lots of people showing up that I wasn't ready for. I do color coded name tags for every person to wear. I guess I just have to count them and if they don't show up then I'll have leftovers.

 
Ok so hubby went to make changes and computer crashed,not a good day. We have our taxes and everything on there and yes I know we should have backed up stuff but weve been working 60 + hour work weeks and just didnt.
He just took to shop by us we know and hoping he can fix or get stuff off the hard drive. I know little about computers so leave it to him.

We have another spreadsheet that he said we can make changes too but we both work tonight so probably wont be until morning so Ill I can say is look tomorrow.

The other thing that someone had a question about was having more then one adult in a cabin and if they should each get a gift. I pointed out the 4 ladies traveling individually. I cant tell people how to do the gifts but some might see if there is 3 adults in there to give 3 but some might only want to give one per cabin. That I have no control over.

Ok so the cut off happened and im not adding any more to groups except the 2 I know about and if I dont hear from the 3 ladies with no dis names son Ill drop them off.

I was on the wbta & this was the option we were given as well. It included a private venue with free pouring of 4 different types of champagne/sparkling wine for one hour.

I agree that they should at least "complete" the signup as a sign of intention & also that when someone cancels they are too bummed to come back & check the thread...although in a perfect world, lol, they would!!

Seems like the problems in so many activities didn't stem from FB so much as the sign-ups starting over a year early & sooooo many people *dropping* & not coming back to do this. It lead to some having to keep signing up on different forms that not everyone saw and/or reconfirm things?? I plan a few of these myself on a few cruises & I know the FEs in particular were difficult in the past when groups had to be formed within the group....but.....looks like more people got included this way, so that makes it 'the more the merrier' so that part is good?? :woohoo:

Thank you to planners for going that extra mile to hunt people down - that is going above & beyond in my book. :hippie:
