Has anyone figured out or budgeted for the minimum amount for tips on this cruise.....since it's so long. I'm thinking ballpark $300-400 for two adults. Then I can always add on if I prefer. But I always budget in my base amount. Has anyone calculated it yet?

$12 per person/per day if I'm not wrong. So I think we will pay $720 for 15 nights cruise for whole family.

Does anyone know what time the ship will arrive back in San Pedro? I am trying to book our shuttle to/from the ship and need to give them a timeframe for the return. Thanks. brendmar

It will probably get in during the early morning hours, but then you have to wait until the ship is cleared by customs.....maybe around 7-7:30.....I'm approximating. I believe they want everyone off the ship by 9:00am. So it depends if you want to go to breakfast that morning or not.

You could mail them to your hotel and then just carry them onboard, bring an extra bag with you. At least then you don't have to fly with them. :confused3

When I stayed at the Doubletree in 2008 I did exactly this ! It worked out for me and will probaly do it again this time around.;)

Three boxes out of three boxes from 2 different people doesn't sound like an isolated incident to me. I guess with that record, I would not send anything I really needed.

I don't like those numbers ! :rolleyes1 I will stick to shipping to the hotel.

I'm getting closer to being ready everyday. Just ordered an itinerary tee shirt and hawaii hat for this trip. Then bought new sizes for one formal dress and two semi-formal/Palo dresses. I'll have to buy a tropical dress onboard or in the stores when I hit the islands, unless one of mine still fits. I'll have to try it on. Then I ordered three pairs of capri pants, which on me are full length to do dinners. I have tops that I can bring to wear that still fit.

All I have to do is pay for two non-DCL excursions and I'm ready to start packing. YEAH!!!!!

:woohoo: Thanks you just gave me the motivation to get the things I need to get done. :cool1: Silly question, when you ordered your shirt are you having it sent to you or delivered on the ship ? Is that even a option ? :confused3

Excited that Dennis will get to wear most, if not all, of his Hawaiian shirts this trip! :dance3:

Did you call them ahead of time and tell them you are sending box to the hotel?

Yes I did, I believe they had me put my reservation # on box with date of my stay. They put it in there locked storage room. I know they only want it sent just before your stay. I think I mailed it a week before I left. :rolleyes1 I also called before like 2 days before I left and it was nice to know my package was there.:thumbsup2

:rolleyes1May be showing up in LA a little earlier, or staying there a little longer......

Our company just put out early retirement offers and I am SERIOUSLY considering the 'buy out'. If I do it (the heart says yes, the head is still running the numbers) I'll be retired in abour 45 days! :scared1:

DO IT! any time you get a buy out offer it's usually a really good thing. And, as someone who's retired, may I just say - you will NOT miss work!

DH just retired yesterday and under the same kind of circumstances :banana::banana:. If you can, by all means go for it, Jackie! :thumbsup2

Thanks, it looks like a one way loop. If that is the case then it will not work for us. Oh well. Maybe a city bus. I really don't want to pay for some high taxi charge.

We are totally going to be using the public bus on Oahu, its super easy to use and we found the drivers were very helpful when we used it previously - they are used to tourists asking the same questions constantly :)

If you are interested in linking dining for the main/early seating, please send me a PM.

I ordered one shirt, one hat and some flower leis.....they will all be waiting in our stateroom when we get there. I don't think there's an option to mail it to your house.

I would suggest calling the hotel in advance and alerting them that the package is coming and to hold it for your arrival.

OMG Jackie, that is soooooooooo exciting. I hope it works out for you!!!!

I stopped in at the Cast Connection (the Disney Cast only store) yesterday. There were some Disney Cruise Line Scrapbooking packages with scrapbook pages, frames, stickers. I am not a scrapbooker, but the packet looked really nice. Normally about $16 the price was $9......not sure if that's a good price or not.

Also a FEW 2011 DCL scrapbookvpackages. If you want me to stop by on Tuesday, I can pick them up for you and bring them to the ship. Just send me a pm.

OH, and some 2011 DCL magnets too. The were $3.

Connie

We are also staying at the CCI..You can take Disney transportation, but you have to catch it from one of the Disney hotels. We are going to take a cab from CCI to the GC and grab the DCL bus there. I think it's only like a half mile betweent the CCI and the GC. Hope this helps!;)
And then as read your question again, I understand that I just said exactly what you said.
Can someone tell us the specifics of the DCL bus (or point us to the info); when it leaves Disney/arrives at the port? Penny and I are staying at the Paradise Pier prior to sailing and are starting to look at the logistics.

Thank you.
