DCL announced the 2013 itineraries for the Magic and Wonder. Unfortunately Hawaii is not one of them. However, the Wonder will be back for the summer in Alaska. That means at least two Panama Canal crossings.

Yea i am kinda bummed - was HOPING for a cruise for Christmas out of LA - oh well...

That means that other than the two Hawaii cruises there will be no more cruises out of California.. Sad that Alaska is now going to be the only west coast cruise....this may be our last Disney cruise since we have done Alaska twice :sad2: we can't fly and they are leaving:mad:

I have to say I am decidedly underwhelmed. There is just nothing that stands out for me. We are leaning towards Alaska at the moment as this has been on our bucket list for a while and maybe the WBTA if it is announced.

I hoped we would do MR next....but we can't do two cruises in one year...money and off work time wise......

PLEASE PM THE FULL NAME OF THE LEAD PERSON AND YOUR RESERVATION NUMBER TO ME

I have to have this information for my TA to link us for dining.

So far I have this info from a handful of you.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED UP YET BUT WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US PLEASE JUST PM ME YOUR INFO - YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN UP ON THE SPREADSHEET

If you have questions please feel free to ask here from the group or PM me. We have found that dining with and getting to know our fellow DISers is one of the most fun things we do on the cruises. Generally they seat us at tables of 6-8 people. But, will accomodate if we request a table for a family of 4 alone but in the same area as the group.

Paulasillers! This is great! We love meeting our dinner table neighbours whenever we cruise and this will be even more fun and exciting! We still keep in touch with some of the people we met through email. I love this idea of having us in the same area. Ill send you a PM.

Thanks for doing this. SanDiegoSteph I see your name on the list so this will be great for the kids!

I am not entirely happy with the new cruise schedule. We want to go to Greece but it is not a BTB with the TA which we loved. There is a two week spot in between. I am sure there is going to be some upset people with this schedule. I thought it might stop at Port Canaveral and pick up people but is isn't. Maybe they will make some changes if they get enough feed back. I also asked when the Magic is coming back and they have no date. I was told it might go to dry dock in Germany.

I am glad we are going to Hawaii this year, and am looking forward to Europe since we missed it last time.

:woohoo:

The only one of any interest what so ever is the May Panama canal cruise and a Alaska cruse. Boy I think those cruises from Miami stink. There is no way on gods green earth I am flying from Los Angeles for one of those. We would love to do the Med with the Venice overnight but we already know the airfare wil price us right out of it. We are booking Panama Canal 5/6/13 tomorrow cause we are Platiunm. We are going to book a Alaska as well but have more time to play with dates as there are way more cruises to Alaska than thru the canal.

Sadly they are having trouble filling the MR cruises and having to cancel some of the ports due to security issues does not help either. They are not going to keep an itinerary that is not profitable. Personally, we will not be doing any MR cruises until Mexico makes it safer. We are planning on booking the WBPC tomorrow, but will decide closer to sailing whether we will get off the ship in Mexico. We are old, have seen way too much and don't need no trouble!! :sad2:

You guys have been very busy posting for the last week. I just sailed on the 1/15 MR and I can tell you that the crew is very excited about sailing to Hawaii!

For those who were asking about the port opening time:
I took super shuttle from Sheraton Gateway LAX to the port. My pickup time was 9:45am and as it turned out, I was the only passenger in the van so I got to the port at 10:15am. At that time, there were a few porters around to take luggage and I was able to walk right into the terminal to go check in. We didn't actually start boarding until around noon, however.

I see the DIS navigator is getting kind of full with activities, but is anyone interested in a casual (and free) improv games workshop for the adults? It would be stuff like what you may have seen on "Whose Line Is It Anyway". It's a lot of fun and we'll use a space in close vicinity to a bar. ;) If there's interest, I'll figure out a good time to schedule around the other activities in place.
That sounds like alot of fun!

True , this is how I met my BF Holly 6 years ago when her and Tyler were seated with us. I must say disney is very perceptive on this. Hubby and I work long shifts and at night too so we dont get alot of dinners together so on a cruise dinner is our fav part. On the med cruise they sat a family with us who were just "rude", never said hi,husband and wife fought and the kids listened to ipods the first night etc. The maitre'd actually took us aside and asked if everything was ok . I guess the waiter had mentioned it to him. Anyway I didnt want to make a big deal of it but figured it was "our" vacation so he suggested he move us as they werent going to change . I felt bad but then realized that I dont want to have every night like that and I just felt they didnt want to socialize or even enjoy dinner. This past cruise we were really lucky because we were at deb and johns table were we had a great time and met some really nice people.

You and Dennis are "young" old, if you know what I mean (cause we are, too ;) ). Truthfully, I don't think I'd ever book a Mexican Riviera cruise. With all the unrest I have no desire to go to Mexico at this time (we plan to stay onboard when we dock at Ensenada).

I wonder why people like that even go on cruises since they're such social vacations (at least for most of us). Our last cruise we had a fantastic group; we laughed at everything (ask me about my "unmagical" salad someday).

This is why we like to be linked and thus seated with DISers that we have already "met" and know want to socialize.

We have late dining, and I think it would be fun to be linked with the group, but I am traveling with 2 kids. Looking at the roll call, it looks like no one else has kids in the late dining linking. So, I'm posing this to the group, good idea, or bad idea? I'm really fine either way, so if there is any reservations at all please speak up. I'm used to traveling with the kids, and I don't want to intrude.

We LOVE kids! We would be happy to have you join the group. One suggestion, if you think the kids might be uncomfortable at an all adult table....we could link you to the group, but request you be seated either at your own table (in the same area as the group) or at a table with kids. Perhaps we will get another late dining family to join us. But really, at a table with 4 other adults would be fine, IMHO. How old are your kids? Will they be leaving dinner early to head to the clubs? (Leaving you to sit alone.:sad2:)

We saw the itineraries and will prob jump on Greece. Ever since I was young ive wanted to go there ( too much Love Boat I guess). We did the Med cruise 2 years ago and it was fast paced but saw some beautiful places, one of which was Malta which we loved and have said we wanted to go back so this would be our chance. The people there were so friendly, beautiful sights and we did a jeep excursion that was supposed to be 1/2 day and it turned into all day and we saw so much and felt we really got our monies worth.
Im going to have to get one or two more jobs to keep up with disneys itinierary releases :rotfl2:

We travel with our grown kids, GK's etc. so I say SIGN UP!! I can not imagine taking a cruise without seeing or interacting at some point with children! My GK's are the ones that keep me young!

Just my thoughts...

I'll be with DS(16) and DD(9). We travel a fair amount, so they are both fairly comfortable with adults, my DS being much more social than my DD. It's quite possible I'll finish dinner alone, but it's really no big deal, I don't mind that.

I'd absolutely encourage you to sign up then and join the group at dinner. :thumbsup2 Just think on it and let me know if you decide to join. :thumbsup2

This is SUCH a warm, welcoming group - I feel so blessed to be cruising with all of you! pixiedust:

It just seems no matter the obstacle or concern, someone lends a hand, offers some genuinely thoughtful advice or just plain encourages.

Wow
