Mike - sounds like a great day to take off. It was cold this morning but just want out for a walk at lunch and it is beautiful out.

As for other cruisers. Well I think a good majority of the folks here on the DIS are opting for the more special cruises like the repo and the Mexican ones. I'm quite happy with our little group but I'd also be happy to see others join us.

today was nice. I was off, and took a nice long nap after the kids went off to school! Today was whacky hair day for them, so I spent a while this morning fixing DD hair up. DS was too "cool" for it. :rotfl: I went home, took a nap, woke up, did a bit straightening up, and I am ready to fix up some lasagna for dinner. It's so much work, but since I am all refreshed and awake now, I can tackle it! Our weather went from really warm, to overcast and gloomy, so I think that has a lot to do with me being tired. Or maybe it's sympathy tiredness for the Transatlantic cruisers. Is anyone following that tread? I love the special merchandise!! Michelle posted pics of it today!

omg, airfare for the 2nd half of 2007 and first half of 2008 is OUTRAGEOUS!!!! I sure hope it goes down. All I know is that as soon as our dates are available to book, I am going to check every single day so I won't miss any deals. There is just no way I want to pay $2,000 for the for of us to fly to Orlando! :sad1:

Speaking of WDW - have you guys read the latest Mouse Matters. One of Mike's best!

Written on the verandah of Old Key West. :)
Glad you liked it. I'm sure you'll be excited to hear about the plans that will follow this latest edition of Mouse Matters.....
you'll have to wait for next weeks edition. ;) (sorry, not my news to share!) ;)

You tease!

Had a fun cruise chat tonight. KarenNY was there live from the repo cruise! Sounds like they are having a great time.

I love some of the European things they have in the shops.

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 49 weeks!

Woo Hoo! We are in the 40's!

UTOP! PDFG and all who need it!

So has anyone decided on excursions yet? Since we have been on both islands before I'd like to try something different. Haven't sat down and discussed with Mark yet so these may change.

For St. Martin I'm thinking about taking the Duck tour. It is something we've done up in the Wisconsin Dells and it is fun up there. We've done the See and Sea tour which was ok and we've also done the snorkel tour which was a little rough (bad seas that day). Karen you may remember that tour made us late for the ornament exchange on the Christmas cruise.

For St. Thomas I'd like to take one of the snorkel excrusions over to St. John. I was there years ago on my very first cruise (back in the 70's) and loved it. We've done the Island Tour and Coral World which was fun and back in December '04 Mark and I did Sea Trek at Coral World on our own. That was very cool!

Of course we still have months to decide before bookings open up.

What about you guys - what are you thinking about doing?

We really want to do the Dolphin Encounter in St. Maarten! That's something I have always wanted to do and the kids would love it too! Although, DS wants to do the parasailing on Castaway Cay, so we may split up that day because both is just too expensive!

I am not sure about St. Thomas yet. I worry that we'll be tired that day, between the long excursion the day before, and pirate night on top of it all. Maybe we will just go up to Paradise Point for a few hours (Has anyone been up there and can you spend a few hours up there? Or is it more of a "go up, look around, go back" type of place?") and just do our own thing. Really torn about St. Thomas!

Paradise Point is more of a go up and look around in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I love it up there and you can get some great shots of the bay and the ship but it isn't some place I would spend a lot of time. There are some gift shops (we've always gotten some nice quality t-shirts up there). There is a bird show and the woman will take your picture with her birds if you buy something from the shop. There is also a bar if you want to relax with a nice drink.

Looked on the DCL website and saw the Duck tour is no longer on offered by DCL. So we'll have to decide if we want to do it on our own or look at something else.

Good morning everyone! Happy Sunday!

I think Karen, Mike and the kids are due back home today. We missed you guys. Karen we're looking forward to hearing about your trip both good and bad.

Eileen thinks she will probably do the spa in St Martin hasent Chosen one yet I hope to do the regata. in St Thomas we think we are just going to walk over and take the cable car up to paridise point and shop .

Gosh, we spent SO much money this weekend, it's insane! For one, we got new cell phones. I have been wanting a new one for a while, but DH thought ours were still fine. Well, I talked him into going to the phone store, and we ended up walking out with a new one for me (I got a red Krazr! ) and one for him (some fancy schmanzy LG phone). I have wanted to get DS a cell phone for Middle School, and planned on getting him one for his elementary school graduation, but since we were there yesterday, we figured why not, and good thing, because the guy that helped us was the store manager, and he basically threw his phone (a Razr) in for free! So DS is happy as a clam now and you should have seen us all last night...sitting here playing with our phones. Of course, I downloaded some Disney Ringtones, and I put a "ringback" (when you call me, instead of hearing it ringing, you hear a song), the Mickey Mouse March! :rotfl:

I finished off my BIL's website for his restaurant finally. I just didn't have the motivation before. Of course, he thinks the font is too *thin* Whatever that means!

Kids passports still have not arrived yet. I guess it's still within the "normal time". We went the beginning of April. DH has not sent in his renewal yet, I told him, I will not keep reminding him. If he comes to me in March and says "oops, sorry, forgot", I am going to kill him! :rotfl2:

We were also at Disney last week:) It was great as always and we have fallen in love with the Beach Club. Our tivo didn't record survivor or American Idol which is a bummer. Does anyone have a tape that they can share with us? Melinda was our girl so I am very upset abouth the AI results. I just don't get Blake being in the top 2. Melinda was always strong every week and really deserved to be in the top 2. Hopefully she will get a recording contract.

we're home. unpacked. very tired. will have to give you highlights later. :)

welcome back to all you WDW vacation people! Hope you have some pics to show, so I can be even more jealous! I was just looking at the WDW website the other day, because I am really thinking of doing a shorter cruise in 2009, and doing WDW for a few days, but OMG...I don't even know where to begin. Where to stay? I like the looks of AKL, is that a good place to stay if you want to go to all the parks? Well, maybe not Magic Kingdom, since it's too much like Disneyland anyway, plus I have been there once. We have family in Orlando and we went to the MK once while visiting them years ago. I would really like to stay at one of the Disney resorts though! Not sure what we'll do yet...maybe it will just be the kids and I in 2009, thinking about a 4day sea/3 day land or maybe just a 7 day Western! :confused3

Good morning everyone!

Welcome home Karen!

Kay - I would still include Magic Kingdom as it has its own charm apart from Disneyland. AKL is probably the farthest from all the theme parks. If I was doing a deluxe (which AKL is) I'd either do Yacht or Beach Club near Epcot or Poly or Contemporary near Magic Kingdom. One thing to remember is that the WDW resort is much much bigger than Disneyland.

speakupjc - sorry we had DVR'd Surviror but deleted after watching. We didn't DVR Idol as we watched it live. Wish we could have helped.

thanks for the resort info, Mary. Yes, I know WDW is much bigger than Disneyland, and I kinda had a feeling that AKL is further out. Maybe we'll stay at the Poly, but it's still so far away, I can't really focus on planning this right now. I am too wrapped up in the cruise for now ;)

We DVR'd Survivor too, and deleted it after watching. Sorry! Maybe you can find it online somewhere?

No problem! The Poly is really nice - stayed there last December. Of course I am really spoiled by DVC. Give me my one bedroom with the full kitchen, king size bed, jacuzzi tub and washer/dryer and I'm happy. Plus when we stay at Boardwalk (our home) I can walk to Epcot which is my favorite of all the parks.

I'm always planning things out on paper even if they don't happen as planned. Our Hawaii trip has been in my planning/dream notes since the late 90's (we were going to go for our 10th wedding anniversary which was in 2000).

We've had Alaska on the planning/dream pages for a couple of years now as well. :)

we have stayed at WDW resorts many times and have stayed at most at least once the Beach club has a great pool and you can walk into Epcot and you can see the Epcot fireworks the Polynesian is great too as you get to travel around by monorail and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach along with the electrical water pageant the Port Orleans French Quarter is our favorite moderate nice boat ride to the shopping village WDW buses are the easiest way to get around. Karen we are wondering do they still let you trade in old park hopper passes for credit towards new Park hoppers

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to drop in and do an intro as we are rebooked for this cruise next spring. Just returned home about one month ago from our very first Cruise!(7 night Western) As expected we couldn't just walk away without rebooking.

This is the cruise we booked, but will be waiting until the fall to decide if we will really go with it. We are waiting to see how DD gets along in middle school. She would be missing atleast 8 days of classes so we don't want her to be lost when she gets back to school.

So...in the end we are a maybe right now!

Crew is DW(myself)DH, DD11, and DS9

I will be sure to pop in every once in a while and let you all know when the decision is final.
