Condolences to the Buckeye fans. Still you have plenty of reasons to be proud. Many teams would have loved to be in both National Championship games and you guys made it to both.

Yup. Lots of teams didn't get nearly as close. It was a tough game (we knew it would be). Our guys looked so tired about 3/4 of the way through it.

Still no kids today. Taking the car in for an oil change and tire rotation. Then who knows what. Yesterday I was a bit productive. Pulled out all of last year's asparagus that had gone to fern. Cleaned up all of the fallen branches in our yard (no easy task) and gave the upstairs of the house a cleaning. My goal today is to fill one big black trash bag with crap that I no longer need or want and get it out of the house. I know the cat will struggle but...... :rotfl2: (just kidding) :rotfl:

Ok at the risk of sounding like a dirty old lady, when did college basketball players start wearing long baggy shorts? I haven't really watched a lot of college basketball since the 80's (was a big Notre Dame fan back then) and they wore much shorter shorts. ;)

Pretty funny, isn't it? They come down to their knees and it looks like you could get two...or three....of them in there. I remember when b-ball players shorts were short.....and tight!

See now that's what I'm talking about. :lmao:

Mike got his daily update on Jack. Not making great strides. His air leak from yesterday is not as large. He is on sedation and a paralyzing agent (to medically paralyze him so he doesn't move) and they are going to start weaning the paralyzing agent today. That means he won't come off the vent today more than likely b/c it takes some time for them to clear that from their system and to start waking up enough to breathe on their own.

They also had taken a culture of the gunk in his vent tube. He doesn't have croup. He has something called bacterial tracheitis. Not a virus, but rather a bacterial infection of his upper airway. Nasty stuff. But he's where he needs to be and getting the drugs he needs to get to get better. Prognosis is still good, but he'll be there awhile longer.

He will definitely be there on his first birthday--April 6th :( :(

Keep praying!

Adding....there are a few very very bad complications, but they are extremely rare. But please pray that these don't happen. After all, this is an uncommon disease, and it's hitting at the "wrong" time of the year....so Jack has proven himself unconventional! ;)

I am still proud of our Bucks. I just wish that our guys 3 pt shots had gone in like they wanted them to do. My guide reminded me that the game we played with them was closer than any other game played with FL in the tourney so that is an accomplishment. Another accomplishment is that only 2teams made the final 2 and we were one of them. Anyone of the other 62 teams would have loved to have been in the Championship game and we were! I wore my Bucks shirt proudly today! Go Bucks!

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday!

We are now into April which means our one year countdown is getting close! It will go by really fast after that.

no! we haven't received a call talked to DCL and they do not expect cancellations until final payments are due. that will be to late for us as we need to make plane rental car and hotel reservation in about 2 months. looks like we will have to wait until another cruise to go through the Panama canal

Mike - so I'm a bit confused. Are you booked on the 2008 repo or just waitlisted?

Waitlisted! a number of places. Talked to a DCL CM the other day and she mentioned DCL does not expect any cancelations until the balance due date because of the refund policy with no forfiture for the east repo cruise. so chances are slim to none as at the latest i want to make Air and hotel reservation for the april 26th 08 cruise by june 26th this year

why so early Mike? I am really torn about this whole airfare thing! Do I book early and potentially pay a bit more but ensure the seats we want? But then I hear that the airlines switch aircrafts frequently so that will mess up the seating anyhow, and unless you check all the time, there is still a chance you may not get the seats you want! Or do I wait and wait and see if there will be a better price? Since we want to take a redeye flight out on the Thursday night before the cruise (arriving in Orlando Friday morning), there is only a choice of 2 airlines and times for us, so I don't want to mess around!

Thanks Mike - that clears it up. I was just confused because you had the logo in your signature so I thought that was a done deal. I have heard they greatly oversold that cruise. I do expect that there will be cancellations but as you said they may not happen until much closer to cruising.

update:

Jack was taken off of the ventilator 15 minutes ago. He had a little stridor (croupy breathing) and they gave him an epi-aerosol and he's doing well right now.

If he continues to do well, they will transfer him to the regular floor tomorrow (he must stay in ICU 24 hours after being taken off the vent b/c of his condition)

Here's hoping and praying the rest is downhill from here!!! I'm sure his mom is happy he doesn't have the tube and she can hold him again!
Thanks for the continued prayers!

glad to hear about little Jack! :cheer2:

We applied for the kids passports today. Yes, I know it's early, but what can I say? I am obsessive compulsive and want to get things done sooner rather than later! Anyway, current wait time on a passport is 10 weeks! Just thought you'd like to know...

one reason we like to make reservations early is we like to choose our flight times and city of connecting flights. As Eileen does not like to fly we try to get non stop flights we fly out of Buffalo and there are not a lot of choices. We prefer morning flights which allows us to enjpy most of the first day in orlando we plan on flying on friday

I see! part of me just wants to book and get it over with! Coming from California, even if you fly in the morning, with the 5 hour flight, plus 3 hour time difference, we don't get into Orlando until very late in the afternoon, that's why we will be doing the redeye. That way, we'll get in Friday morning and just cross our fingers that we'll be able to check into the hotel early, and we can enjoy a whole day there!

Good morning everyone!

One good thing about living in Chicago as we really get a wide choice of non-stop flights. We haven't even booked our December flights yet but should be doing so soon.

Karen - are you getting his with the lake effect snow? I heard Columbus, OH mentioned on our local news.

Must be the other Columbus, OH. :confused3 It's cold and windy here....

28 degrees. It's spitting snow, but nothing major....just enough to accumulate on the edge of the windshield of Mike's truck.

Better not snow a lot, I have to meet my parents in Mansfield and get my kids back. :)
