:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Karen!

What a nasty day! Was it the Bob Evans we went to? At least I can picture you all there. Silly huh?

Here's hoping the rest of the day goes well and you feel better soon.

So while Mike was at the hospital did he have your culture done?

Nope. Not the same Bob Evans. B/c we took the car into Columbus and there was a BE across the street. Went there b/c everyone was starving.

Nope. My germs are sitting in his lunch bag on the kitchen table. :) He was going to have it done at the office (for free)

If my throat still hurts tomorrow he'll swab again and take it in then.
(although he's a MEAN swabber.....he says "1-2-3 and it'll be done"....but he doesn't say "1" until he's been doing it for 3 seconds already!!! I think he got some stomach acid on the tip of the thing too!!! Glad he's not my regular doctor!) :lmao: :lmao:

Karen, sorry you had such a bad day! :grouphug: Hope you feel better after your nap! I slept until 12:45, the kids got out at 1:05 today. It felt SO good! I didn't even wake up to the dogs barking when the pool guy came, like I thought I would!

did you guys hear that Anna Nicole Smith died? I just feel bad for her baby daughter! :sad2:

Duh! Because if you were that close to home you would have gone home most likely! :rotfl:

The good news is. This story has made good content for the next blog entry! :)

We're skipping Nick's rehearsal. He's sick. He's been sniffly for 24 hours.
Mike seems to think there isn't THAT much more Nick can learn about the song "Ding Dong the witch is dead."

Works for me b/c I'd rather hole up at home in this cold. :)

yikes, I slept the day away and now I am not tired and can't fall asleep!! I woke up this morning, sent the kids off to school, then slept from about 9am until 12:30pm, the kids got home, and then later, when DH got home at around 3pm, I went back to bed until 7!

I watched CSI. Really sad that Keppler turned out to be a dirty cop even though I feel like he was deceived by this other guy, and died :( I liked him and wanted him to stick around for a bit! I am halfway through Survivor and will go back up and finish it in a bit but came downstairs because the dogs wanted out again! We have an orange tree in the backyard, and this time of year the oranges are falling off of it. Well, at night, squirrells (at least I hope it's squirrells!!! ) come and eat at them (I always find perfectly hollow oranges out there in the morning) and sometimes, it just drives the dogs nuts and they whine by the back door. So I let them out to do their squirrell duty!

Karen, hope Nick gets better soon! So many are sick around here. We call parents at school constantly to pick up their kids. I am fighting something too, so glad tomorrow I have another day off, although I have errands to run and can't sleep like I did today!

Goodnight all! Hope I can get some sleep!

Good morning everyone! Sounds like everyone had a less than stellar day yesterday. Here's hoping today is a better one for everyone! TGIF! Still a lot to do here to prepare for our trip and to get things done at home (taxes, etc.)

At least today is casual day at work which means I get to wear jeans. It is the small things in life. :)

You guys were mentioning Anna Nicole Smith yesterday. Did anyone see Entertainment Tonight last night? They claimed to have the last interview with her taken in the last week. The part I saw was her getting ready and she seemed "out of it". Her husband kept walking in the room and "checking" on her. Just seemed really wierd. Very sad that this was a woman who put her body through so much. Even sadder is the baby daughter. I hope they fignure out the paternity soon and that she ends up in a stable and loving home.

well, I am feeling a bit better today, but I am in this "blah" mood...it's like nothing can cheer me up right now! I am depressed because our cruise is so far away and I am so worried something will come up and we won't be able to go! The cruise itself is almost paid for, but then I worry that DH will lose a major account and we won't be able to save up for the rest! This has been my dream for so long, I am terrified something will happen! It's like...I can't actually PICTURE myself on the ship! Do you ever get like that?

Went to the parent orientation at the middle school and they did a tour, we went to some of the classrooms, and checked out other areas. It looks very promising, and I am excited for DS to go next year! After I got out of there, I called DH and asked him if he wants to have lunch with me and so I picked him up and we went and ate lunch and I dropped him back off! I went and picked out some Valentine's for the kids and DH, then went to Carl's Jr. and picked the kids up some lunch after I realized it was almost lunch time at their school. They were excited to see me with junk food, however, DS didn't really want me to sit with him. He didn't say it, but I just sensed it! Ah well...he's 11...too cool to have his mommy sit with him during lunch! :rotfl: At least my little princess was happy to have me sit with her!

I really hope I will snap out of this funk I am in! I hate being in such an unhappy mood! Going to spread my grumpy mood around the DIS for a bit then I am heading off to pick up DD from school.

Here's the update on the truck:

Went to pick it up. There was no charge. But the service record only said "vehicle towed in for overheating---unable to reproduce condition in shop."

No mention of testing pressures (like they said they did) No mention of adding 2 gallons of antifreeze (like they said they did). Looked like a definite case of the shop doing a CYA.

So Mike and I did our OWN CYA which by FAR trumped their CYA.
We traded it in! HA! We go the absolute HIGHEST value you can get from Kelly Blue Book (considering it just had major maintenance, new back brakes and new tires). Of course we didn't mention we just got it out of the service department. Why should we? There wasn't anything wrong with it??? Oh, and for our trouble, the service department had detailed it, inside and out....so it was in PERFECT trade in condition. :)

HA! :)

Mike is now the proud owner of a Toyota Highlander. MUCH better gas mileage than the Sequoia, that's for sure!

Good morning Cruisers

We sail in 63 weeks!

Karen & Mike - congrats on the new truck! :drive:

Kay - here's hoping that funk moves away. I'm sure it will soon.

just got out of bed about 10 minutes ago (about 10am), although I have been awake for a while. Kids have been bouncing around and fighting and driving me nuts! DH is out at a job! I hate that he works on the weekend, but sometimes it just can't be helped! I am getting irritated because ALL of my Christmas boxes are still sitting around in the family room and need to put up in the garage attic. I can't do it myself and he always has something going on and can't help. He said he'll do it tomorrow. It's embarrassing to have people over with the Christmas stuff still sitting out. It's all in boxes, nothing is actually OUT still, but I can't stand it! :headache:

Weather is nice so far but it's supposed to rain this weekend! I don't mind, we need it, but the kids will be cooped up inside. Can't wait for it to be warm enough to use the pool!

Did our taxes this morning (at least our part). The rest is now up to the accountant. Now the focus is getting ready for vacation. Hair cut and colored this morning and tomorrow we start laying out what needs to be packed. Looking forward to getting out and away from the cold weather!

when are you going Mary? We have an accountant do our taxes! DH still has to make an appointment. I have a feeling we'll be paying this year. But then again, I have the same feeling every year! :rotfl:

A high school classmate of our oldest sons was killed in a car accident yesterday our son is taking it hard he was on the swim and track teams with him a really good friend . we know it will be difficult when we all go to visitation.

I am so sorry Mike! :sad1: I will keep the boys family AND your family in my thoughts!
