UTOP!!

the excursion we booked through Disney says it starts at 6:30am. However, it shows the Magic docking in St. Thomas at 8:00am (or is it 8:30? I don't remember). How does this work?

That's the time your group will meet up onboard, probably in one of the nightclubs, and you'll be first off the ship as soon as it's cleared.

I think this post I found explains both the immigration question and your 6:30 am time.

We just got off the Magic last week after the president's week Eastern cruise. There is a early customs check at St. Thomas but not 5 am. The earliest check was for morning shore excursions and that was 6:30 am in the Walt Disney theater. The rest of the passengers were cleared depending on which floor you were staying on. The times were 7:15, 7:30 and 7:45 am. The ship must clear customs before disembarkment at 8 am. The whole family must attend with passports in hand. It was handled very smoothly. It took us about 10 minutes then we grabbed some breakfast.

thanks Mark and Mary for explaining the 6:30am thing. It was a bit confusing. So I guess it's good, we don't have to wait around for immigration a long time. Bad thing... we still have to get up way early, the morning after pirate night!

Thanks Mary I knew you and Mark would have the answer. Eileen and I are off to the Parrots of the Caribbean Jimmy Buffett tribute show soon.

Quiz Time

1) When you walk, does your left arm swing with your right or left leg?
- No fair getting up to see. :-p
2) Do books have even numbered pages on the right or left side?
- No fair opening that book. :-p
3) Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, and Doc. Who's missing?
4) On which side of a venetian blind is the bar that adjusts the opening between slats?
5) How many curves on a standard paper clip?
6) Does a merry-go-round go clock-wise or counter clock-wise?

These are some questions from a website, from which I did miserably. :confused3

- No fair getting up to see. :-p Right Leg
2) Do books have even numbered pages on the right or left side?
- No fair opening that book. :-p Left Side
3) Sleepy, Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, and Doc. Who's missing? Bashful
4) On which side of a venetian blind is the bar that adjusts the opening between slats? Well on the two in our computer room one is on the right and one is on the left. They are in corner windows. :)
5) How many curves on a standard paper clip? 3
6) Does a merry-go-round go clock-wise or counter clock-wise? I know a merry-go-round goes one way (I'm going to guess clock-wise) and a carousel goes the other (counter clock-wise)

1) Your arms swing opposite your legs, so left arm would swing with your right leg.
2) even on the left, odd on the right.
3)Bashful (no wonder he's missing, he's bashful!)
4) Darn, we have custom blinds and we got to pick which side for each room.....I'm going to say right.
5) without looking.....3
6) carousels go one way, merry go rounds go the other. Thinking of the Magic Kingdom, that's a carousel, and it goes counter clockwise, so I'm going to say merry go rounds go clockwise.
And I did notice Mary answered these, I didn't look at her answers but I will now to see how close we were to each other. :)

whats the difference between a merry go round and a carousel?

According to Wikipedia: ::MickeyMo
A carousel (or carrousel) is an amusement ride consisting of a rotating platform with seats for passengers. The "seats" are traditionally in the form of wooden horses or animals, which are often moved mechanically up and down to simulate galloping. This leads to one of the machine's alternative names, the galloper. Other popular names are merry-go-round, roundabout and flying horses. Usually, circus music is looped while the rides spins.

Although modern carousels (especially in America) are mainly populated with horses, carousels from earlier periods frequently included diverse varieties of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, pigs, and deer, to name a few. And sometimes, regular chairlike seats are used as well.

Any rotating platform may also be called a carousel. In a playground, a merry-go-round is usually a simple, child-powered rotating platform with bars or handles to which children can cling while riding. At an airport, rotating conveyors in the baggage claim area are often called carousels.

In the United States, a carousel goes counter-clockwise. In many EU-states (the UK, the Netherlands, etc.), the carousel goes the other way around; clockwise. The reason for this is subject of much speculation.

how many people will be dressing up for pirate night?

This is a photo from our last cruise. Granted, it wasn't a "Princess and Pirate" party, we still dressed up DD as a princess.
