April 26, 2013 8 night Magic out of Galveston

If transportation prices are comparable to Port Canaveral and you have at least 4 ppl it is cheaper to hire a car service vice taking the DCL bus service. I know many of the hotels near the port offer complimentary transportation to the port. I would definitely price out transportation companies that mention cruise transfers. I've done this for Orlando on Florida cruises very successfully. But I've not cruised from Galveston before and will be driving. I did find this link with a few companies to start. http://transportation.destinationnext.com/

:cool1: Everything booked: Palo Dinner, Brunch, Cabana and WDW transportation at 7:15am :faint:. Over half the cabanas are still available and Wednesday May 1st is Pirate Night. :woohoo:

You must be platinum. Congrats on grabbing a cabana. We hope to get one. We are only gold, so we have to wait until 1/11.

No not platinum, despite sailing over 30 days with DCL half of which in suites (which is like 2 staterooms), I'm still only a silver. We are splurging in a suite.

Just found out the following, hope this helps in planning.

Night 2, April 27th, Formal Night
Night 6, May 1st, Pirate Night
Night 7, May 2nd, Semi-formal Night

Hi Everyone,

My family will be sailing with you this trip. Just requested to be added to the FB group and have been trying to catch up on info in this thread.

We are complete newbies to Disney cruising. DH and I last went on a cruise 7 years ago, so I appreciate any info you can give me. It will be us and DS (6) and DD (4).

Welcome...what do you want to know?

I could definitely use some help on how to find info on what youth activities are available and how to register for them. I know my registration date is a long time off yet, but would like to get an idea of what needs to be done first.

Thanks!

What age youth?
If they're over three under 12 and potty trained you can register online for the kids club, pick up their bracelets at checkin at the port and drop them off for any activity that looks interesting. The club activities are listed in the navigators that are dropped at your room each night for the following day. Shore excursions can be signed up for at your booking window. What kind of activities were you looking for?
There are also family activities, tea with Alice (a ticketed, free event) and deck parties, etc.

My kids will be 4 & 6. I didn't know if I needed to register them for kids club activities prior to the trip. Glad to hear that we don't need to do that in advance.

We are cruising too! Sign us up for FE stuff too! So far on deck 5...we like it there!

Elizabeth & Owen plus 6 kids....
Andy 15
Karen 13
Austin 11
Jackson 4
Jacob almost 2-bday cruise
James almost 1-bday cruise

Question? My TA says final payment due jan 8...kinda weird date...anyone else due then?

Also anyone know if we sign up for bus times to wdw in advance? How early and how late do they run?

I personally hope we get pirate week!

Yes. You can sign up for them when your booking window opens under port adventures.

Added both of y'all to the rollcall.
My PIF date isn't until early February. The 10th of February to be precise.
But my silver booking window opens January 26th...so I'll be paid up by then...if you're gold I'd imagine your window opens earlier than that.

Yep...we r gold.....this will b cruise number 9 for us!!!! Almost platinum :banana::banana:

As to us getting pirate week at WDW, I'd say it's unlikely as I'm guessing they'll put that during national talk like a pirate day (September 19th).
I wonder what we will get though?
It's my DS and DD's first trip to the world though, so even if it's no big deal special day to WDW, it'll be awesome for us~

The ones I saw is based on the park you want transporation to, but most of them started at 7:15am the latest I saw was to Epcot around 4:00pm or so. So for us, we wanted to start in the Animal Kingdom, so I reserved the complimentary transportation as a Port Adventure there for 7:15am. If you have a specific park you would like me to look up the times, just let me know.

Could you check on Magic Kingdom for us?

And guess what y'all, kids sail free has been added to this cruise! It doesn't help us out (we got 20% off on board booking) but if it helps you out, I'd call them up and see if they can apply it to your reservation.

Just booked our first cruise ever!! My husband and I will be joining you all with our DD age 8.
Our friends will hopefully be joining us. They also have an 8 yo girl.
I have a lot of reading to do. I am clueless for this cruise. Any advice so we don't miss something important?
