Just thought of this today, let go to Disney for the week after Easter. Hope you can help me with a few questions...

Is it ridiculously packed the week after Easter?

Been to Disney several times, never in our RV. The last time I was at Ft. Wilderness was for the hoop dee doo review, when I was 7 yrs old. I am now 36. We have a 34' Holiday Rambler and will be towing my Honda Accord.

What is the difference between preferred and premium sites?

Do we want to stay near the front of the park, say the 2800 loop area or 100-300 loop area?

Being that I will have my car, is it better to drive to other parks?

Anything else you can think to pass along to someone who is not familiar with Ft. Wilderness...

Hey Kristy! We visited Fort Wilderness for the first time the week before Easter and it was really, really busy. We'd been several times before, so we just made the most of it and concentrated on doing things we'd never done and hitting our favorites. It was a GREAT trip w/ awesome weather and, though I don't particularly want to visit again at that time for a while, it was DISNEY and we had a ball!

We chose to stay in a premium site, which gave us a longer/ wider concrete pad. We stayed in the 700 loop and loved the location. Initially I wanted to stay in the 100-300 loops, but after some research I found them a little close together and a little tight. If you're going to rent a golf cart, you'll be fine anywhere in the park. We've requested 900 loop for our May 2011 trip.

Be warned: it is so very easy to fall in love with the Fort. You may never stay at another resort ever again!!!!

Everything I've read says the week before AND the week after are extremely busy. But, again, who cares---it's Disney!

We prefer to drive our own car to the parks instead of waiting for buses. Some people say waiting on the buses is part of the experience. We'd rather not wait. It's a personal preference. We do use the boat from the Fort to go to MK and that's enjoyable.

You are not able to drive your car around to the different amenities at the Fort. You can walk, ride bikes, ride the bus, or use a golf cart. The Fort has three internal bus routes to get you around the actual resort. Those buses have always been efficient and easy to use. Each bus stop has a color coded map to help you figure out which bus you'll need.

I'll let others answer your questions about loops. Being a tent camper, I have no experience with what is best for RVs.
