The cost of rum point for 3 adults and 1 child is $164 (3*43 + 1*35=164). I am trying to find the cheapest hotel room at a resort on 7 mile for 1 night. If it is close to $164 I may book it and then just buy lunch at the resort. I'll never enter the room so who cares if it faces the parking lot right next to the laundry room above the kitchen near the A/C compressors
The place won't be crowded and will have nice pools, clean towels, good drinks etc.
There is a Courtyard by Marriott and also a Hyatt among others there. I was thinking about that idea also -- maybe there is a special "day" rate.
Jillie - We booked the same excursions you did - we are on the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel, Banana Boats and Parasailing on Castaway Cay. We are also doing Key West on our own.
The Marriott is lovely ....I stayed at a condo next to it and we would walk over for drinks and lunch.....I would check into a day room...I have gotten them at MCO airport an in Cocao Beach after the cruise when I have a late flight out...well worth the comfort.

Yankee....how funny is that? Guess we'll be seeing alot of each other!! How old are your kids again?? I have 2 dd's - 16yo and 13yo. We have done the banana boats before and 16yo did the parasailing and loved it.
Jillie - We are traveling with three other families. I have two boys - 15 and 11. We will also have boys - 14, 15 and another 11 year old. Also some girls - 16, 12, 10 and 7. So, I am sure we will be running into your group a lot!
Yankee...we are also traveling with 2 other families. There will be my two dd's and 4 other girls ages 17, 15, 14 and 11...Also know two other families from our area who are going with a bunch of girls also. It will be so much fun...i cannot wait!
9 AND 11! After I told them last night that I found over 20 kids going they were even more excited! Back about 10 pages someone said we should meet at Scoops? Count us in I will need an ice cream by then anyway.
Goofy Cruisers, some of us who are getting into town early are going to meet at Grill's (it is a restaurant right at the port) on Friday night. You are welcome to come as well if it fits into your schedule. We haven't decided on a time yet, but as it gets closer, I am going to try to get a headcount and set a time. Then we will call the restaurant and try to make arrangements.
Welcome Goofy cruisers!
What took you so long to find us? We are from the Jersey Shore travelling with 4 girls altogether...11, 12, 15 and 17...this is our 4th cruise on the Magic.... it's a blast and the kids do not want to get off the boat....mine are always in tears when they leave thier new found friends....but it looks like this year we will have alot that live closer to us if they make some lasting friendships as they always do. Welcome aboard mate!!!

I have read in other threads that some parents leave their kids on the ship when they go ashore, especially if all they're doing is sightseeing or shopping. Have any of you done that?
I wouldn't leave them unless they really wanted to stay and be with their new friends, but I was wondering what would happen if they needed me for any reason. I understand we get pagers, I'm assuming they work from ship to shore.
Hi everyone...I was just wondering if anyone has gone on the Captin Marvins tour boat to the stingray excursion? I have book the stingray excursion through DCL but I was wondering if Captin Marvins was just as good or better then the other one. Thanks for the input ...Cathy
