April 22,2012 on the Dream

P.S. to that last one....... Yes, pirate night in the Animators Pallet is absolutely awesome!!!

So excited for our first cruise! We are bringing our 7 month old son and hoping for the best! :)

Wanted to say hello, we just booked this cruise TODAY (rather spontaneously) and are SO excited. This will be our first Disney Cruise (and my first cruise ever!) and DH and I are taking our two DD's (ages 5 and just turned 2 year old) What a fun trip this will be! (just hope I don't get any sort of sea sickness lol):cool1:

oh, also, because we booked rather late (today!) we only had the option for the second seating dinner (crossing fingers) this is going to work with two little ones! But, we don't know what evening we will be at what restaurant, (online it just says rotating) and our agent that booked us only said that we would be at second seating and are waitlisted for first. so those who have cruised before, is there a way we can find out (or choose) which restaurants we go to on which night? thanks!

Welcome aboard!!! You wont believe how fun this ship is! You can call Disney Cruise Line and ask about dining rotation. The nice thing about second seating is that the young ones get to go to shows first and then eat. Sometimes if you eat first the little ones have a hard time making it though the shows later. If you are open to be able to request rotation go for ERAA ( Enchanted Garden, Royal Palace, and Animators Palet twice ) that way you get the Animators Palet on a regular night and on Pirate Night!

Also wondering if anybody is interested in a small FE group. It was ALOT of fun on our last cruise. Maybe not as big though. Just a single gift from your home town or state. Or maybe a small handcrafted item. Let me know and I'll put something together!

pardon my novice question, but what do you mean exactly? :)

An FE ( or fish extender ) is a small fish hook that is next to your stateroom door that Disney uses to leave you notes and other things. What we do is hang a small bag or cubby that we deliver a trinket or two from our home town or state and a small goodie or two into. It can come at any time when you get a chance during the cruise. Every time we went back to the room our son got excited to check to see if we had a delivery! It was ALOT of fun! Last time we had 16 rooms participate. That was ALOT and was alittle difficult to manage so a group of 10 or so would be better to cover.

mnewcomer, that sounds like a lot of fun! Both to find things at your door, and also to deliver them to someone else. Would love to participate. So does that mean we would want to pack a small token or trinket from our home state/town for each of the days we are on board the cruise to deliver to someone? or how does that work ? Let me konw, thanks!!

Just wanted to say hello! I am looking for a friend for our 5 1/2 year old daughter, I thought it would be neat if she had someone to play with at the kids club, or could meet up with at the pool, etc. I thought by posting here we could have them meet beforehand virtually and we (parents) could chat too. So, if you have a little princess like us around 5 or 6 that would love a friend while on the cruise, please PM me! Thanks! :goodvibes

My fiance and I will be going on our honeymoon!! :goodvibes We've never been on a cruise before and we just absolutely love Disney. We thought this trip was going to be a perfect combination!! Disney fun and lots of relaxation. The only thing I'm super bummed about is we didn't get to book the brunch at Palo. We've heard fabulous things but when our turn came up to finally book things it was sold out. :sad1:

TEN DAYS!!!!:cheer2:

Wow, one week from today. Just wanted to say we too will be on this cruise. Our 4th Disney cruise, but first time on the Dream. It's my DH and myself, my DD and her DH, and our 2 granddaughters, 7 yo and 5 yo (she will actually will be 5 in May). This is the family's 2nd Disney cruise. We cruised the Wonder 18 months ago when the girls were 5 and 3. They loved it and can't wait to do it again. Sadly, the last time we cruised we never got to go to Castaway Cay, so we all have our fingers crossed. It was a big celebration then and included my other DD, her DH and their 2 yo to celebrate my retirement. We were all bummed about not getting to visit CC, so we are a little nervous that it might happen again. My GDDs loved the clubs last time and never wanted to leave. They never dined with us the last cruise and we were on the 2nd dining time. This time we asked for the 1st seating, so the girls will be dining with us this time. We are at WDW @ BLT 3 nights prior to the cruise (we leave this Thursday) and we will be at the BCV after the cruise for a variety of different timeframes.

I know, cannot believe it is just a week away!! Getting so psyched!!

I am glad to hear that your 2 grand daughters loved the clubs last time they cruised. Our girls are 2 and 5 and , although our younger is too young for the club, we are hopeful our 5 year old will LOVE the club!! In fact, if your 7 or 5 year old would like a friend , let me know! Our 5 year old loves to make friends whereever she goes! :) Feel free to PM me!

Hey guys sorry I haven't been near a computer to respond to you. We have been out at a couple of out of town races. Sorry we couldn't get an FE put together but we are still excited to decorate our door anyways! We can't believe it's a week away!!! Castaway Cay here we come:love:

NO problem about the FE. :) So you are allowed to decorate your own door? How do you do that/what kinds of things do you plan to put up? that sounds like something my girls would have fun doing. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

Yes you can decorate your door. The only rules are no tape or glue. Magnets only! We went to Office Depot and got magnetic sheets and printed pics and drawings to put up on our door! The room number plaque makes a great Mickey head just add ears! We also went to our local craft store and made magnets from lots of things! Our room number is 7880 come by and check it out! PM me your room number and you might come back to your room to a surprise or two! It's amazing how Tink gets around!

Thank you so much for the info!! We will have great fun decorating our door I am sure, although I've never made magnets before, so we will see how they turn out!! LOL

Thanks, and we will def. stop on by and check out your door!! :wave2: You may find a thing or two from us as well! :goodvibes

I wouldn't worry too much about that. They hold back quite a few reservations for people to book once they're onboard. When you get on the boat, you can either go to Palo or call from your stateroom and you should be able to get a table for brunch! :thumbsup2

Thank you everybody for a magical cruise! The Dream was as beautiful as it was last time and my inlaws were blown away! Already booked for the Fantasy in 2013! Yay pirate:
