April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

Just wanted to pop in and say we received our documents on Thursday and my parents Friday because they missed the UPS man on Thursday. Just started getting my clothes together. Have to start working on the kids and then DH last. He usually packs too much. 10 days to go for us!

Congratulations Kathy:banana:
Hopefully this week it will be Festivus for the RestOfUs!

That cake looks Deeeelcious, Amanda!!! Very professional looking with the white and dark chocolate drizzles!!!!

We just had to flush Kyra's ears out with peroxide...Just about every holiday since she was a baby she always manages to get some sort of ear ailment!
We're off to Ed's mom's house tomorrow for brunch. I made these sausauge and cheese crepes, they're pretty good.
I'm guessing the crickets will be chirping here tomorrow, too....It's soo quiet!

Oh, did you guys hear about the bomb scare on the Magic today?
One of the CM's received a package with a WiFi (don't know what kind) in it and the bomb sniffing dog picked something up, so they wound up not heading out of port until almost 9:00 tonight!

Okay, time to get ready for the Easter Bunny's big day!
Happy Easter everyone!

Countdown to cruising!!!
13 days to go!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, the DIS clock is WAY off, because it's 12:49am here, and the DIS clock says that it's 11:25pm. Anyway, it's 13 days to go for me!!!

Cyndi, are you still well? I remember you talking about the coworker who was sick, and I hope you didn't get it!

Thanks, for asking, I'm doing ok. Friday she was complaining about her throat hurting her, talking about strep throat. I was happy that I only worked a half of day. Hope she's better by Monday!!!

Cyndi

Happy Easter everyone!!

Our festivities are now over. We've had 3 egg hunts, and there's so much candy in the house. Emily is almost bouncing off the walls. :rotfl2:

I read about the bomb scare yesterday. It reminded me to pack a few snack items for our carry on - just in case. I sure hope that doesn't happen to us, but if it should, I want to be prepared. However, I'm glad they take these things seriously, and it wound up being something other than a bomb. How scary.

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone had a nice Easter, egg hunts here also.

I had a question what did everyone else get from Disney for Docs? We only received tags for luggage, customs forms and a little booklet that only had info, nothing that looks like real tickets, is this all we should get?

Really busy this weekend and didn't get much packing done we leave really soon so I have to get going. I'm sure my husband will love to hear about your suggestion about packing then taking 1/2 out, he swears that I pack enough for 3 more people to go on vacation with us.

That's all I got too. I think my bus transfers from the airport to the terminal are in there but really hard to tell. But I got my print outs on what I was suppose to have in case I don't have the bus transfers.

Getting excited that it is getting hard to contain, almost down to single digits!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter. We have no family around and did not do anything with it. Went shopping with LOTS of other people at teh amll too!

Next stop - Port Canaveral!

Yep, that's pretty much it. Before online check-in, all the forms used to be in the booklet, but now it's pretty small.

Ok, you know what day it is!!! It's Monday, time for a new set of Get To Know Your Fellow Cruiser, and these questions were provided by Molli!!! (Thanks Molli)

1. Pie or cake? what flavor?

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor?

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why?

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other?

5. Favorite kid and adult cereal?

6. Wine, beer or cocktail?

Ok, there they are, have fun!!!:woohoo:

1. Pie or cake? what flavor?
I would probably pick cake, and probably chocolate.
2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor?
My favorite ice cream right now is Publix Wild Berry Cheesecake. It's just SO tasty!!
3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why?
Oohh, that's a tough one! I like a lot of them, like Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, Emeril, Paula Deen and Tyler Florence. I think that I would pick Tyler Florence, because he's not bad to look at, and I love some of his recipes.
4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other?
It used to be Diet Coke, but I have always loved Caramel Frappuccinos from Starbucks, but can't afford that on a regular basis, but I have replaced my morning Diet Coke with regular coffee at home with Caramel creamer from Int'l Delights.
5. Favorite kid and adult cereal?
Hmm, my favorite adult cereal is Special K (but my girls like it too, so they eat a lot of it) and I think that my favorite kid cereal is Golden Grahams (except I haven't had them in YEARS).
6. Wine, beer or cocktail?
I'll drink all of them, but I prefer a cocktail and usually a foo-foo drink. I did try something at a party a few weeks ago that was good and simple, coconut rum and pineapple juice. It was quite tasty!!

Good morning everyone. I am beyond excited to say "Next weekend we're going on vacation." :dance3:

Now on to the questions:

1. Pie or cake? what flavor? Cake, chocolate of any flavor would be great. I love chocolate cake with chocolate filling and thin glaze of chocolate on top, with German chocolate frosting. I bet it has 10,000 calories a slice, but it is goooood.

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor? I love Hershey's hand dipped, or Ben & Jerry's. Any flavor will do. I'm not picky at all about ice cream.

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why? Paula Deen. She's just an incredible woman. Most of her food items look soooo delicious and comforting.

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other?
Cherry Coke Zero.

5. Favorite kid and adult cereal? Kid = Lucky Charms. Adult = Special K chocolate.

6. Wine, beer or cocktail? Well, guess what? DH & I don't drink. Never have. It's just not our "thing". So I'd have to say none of the above.

Happy Monday -

1. Pie or cake? what flavor? cheesecake or ricotta pie

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor?I don't just like a bowl of ice cream. I like a hot fudge sundae w/toasted almond fudge ice cream, whipped cream, nuts and jimmies (sprinkles to some of you) :thumbsup2

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why? Paula Dean - We're love comfort food. I make her bbq meatloaf and my husband loves it.

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other? water or any type of juice

5. Favorite kid and adult cereal?kid cereal - Captain Crunch
adult cereal - oatmeal..I eat it everymorning

6. Wine, beer or cocktail? chardonnay, raspberry cosmo, any fruity frozen drink

1. Pie or cake? what flavor?

cake -- can't wait to order cake of the day from room service :thumbsup2 favorite -- white wedding cake, honestly choc. cake i can pass on  but i really love cake with a flare, like layered cake with a fruit layer and really good frosting, or spice cake with caramel frosting (Preston's fav). our wedding cake was carrot with cream cheese frosting :cool1: Preston is a pie man

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor?

any, but i guess i prefer hand-dipped. Graeters hand-dipped is the bestest, if anyone passes through Cincinnati or Columbus, they add melted chocolate to the ice cream as it's mixing, then it hardens in these delicious ribbons of chocolate. Coffee with chocolate 'chip' there is heavenly!

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why?

Bobby Flay b/c i love southwest cuisine. for personality though i'd pick Paula and everyone else my family would pick her for comfort-food cookin'!

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other?

coffee with a splenda and creamer

5. Favorite kid and adult cereal?

kid -- Cap'N Crunch peanut butter

adult -- Berry Burst Cheerios (today this changes often)

6. Wine, beer or cocktail?

i like a good glass of white wine, Riesling is my fav. but i also like a good beer too, not dark and chewy though! Cocktails are great too, but nothing tooo heavy on the sweet side. regular margarita on the rocks, salt on the rim. or diet coke and rum :teeth: Amanda, you can be our DD :teeth: we'll try not to embarass you :rotfl2:

Hey! Glad everyone's Easter went well. I had to turn my daughter's independent study request in today. That was so scary. She has been so sick this year, so I was turning in a sick note for 4 days before spring break and now I am telling them that I am taking her out for 7 days! I hope we don't get turned into the school board.

My answers:

1. chocolate pie
2. baskin robbins gold medal ribbon
3. Tyler Florence, because he is so cute
4. Mocha Light Frappuccino w/ whip cream
5. I ONLY like Trix
6. Strawberry magaritas or pina coladas

Here is the recipe for diet margaritas. I got this recipe from Weight Watchers forum, but I changed it a little bit.

This makes 2 servings

I add 1 cup of Fresca
1/2 cup of of tequila (if you want it really strong, otherwise add 1/4 cup)
1/8 cup lime juice
1/4 teaspoon powdered lemonade crystal light
blend with ice in blender. YUM!

Have a great day,

Jenni

1. Pie or cake? what flavor? Chocolate Cake, almost any chocolate cake as long as it doesn't have nuts

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor? Soft serve-twist flavor

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why? Rachael Ray-I really like her and would like to meet her and her food seems to be something I would really like

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other?
Diet Pepsi-thats why I'm thinking I might have to bring some with me on the cruise
5. Favorite kid and adult cereal? I don't think there is any kids cereal I like alot but I do like Pop Tarts, does that count. I guess for adult cereal I would choose Cheerios
6. Wine, beer or cocktail? Not much of a drinker

I have another question in the bathroom do they have those lines that pull out and attach to the other wall to make a clothes line like they do at the resorts or am I out of luck and if so what does every one do to dry their bathing suits?

Cheryl

1. Pie or cake? what flavor?
DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE? :lmao: Cake favorites are obviously chocolate, especially with sour cream chocolate frosting (my mom makes the best!) followed by a close second of red velvet cake (DH's favorite, too!). My pie favorites are chocolate, pecan, peach, and apple. DH's favorite is pecan, but he also likes blueberry and pumpkin. We try to especially avoid pies now that we know the truth about trans fats, though.

2. Ice cream -- soft serve or hand dipped? flavor?
Hey, ice cream is ice cream! Either SS or HD chocolate with caramel on top (maybe some mix-ins, too--brownies, etc.). Coldstone Creamery just opened up here, and while they have wonderful ice cream, they're outrageously expensive. We have a small, locally owned shop called Ko-Ko Nut Joe's, and you can get a great huge cup or cone for next to nothing! Their "baby" size is huge for only $0.75! They have very few flavors, though--choc, van, twist, and a sherbet that changes every 2-3 days, but the sherbet is usually YUMMY!

3. If you could have a celebrity chef cook you a meal, who would you choose and why?
Anyone willing to cook for me so I don't have to (does it include clean up, too?)

4. What's your beverage that kickstarts your morning, coffee, tea, or other?
The milk on our cereal.

5. Favorite kid and adult cereal?
Our cupboards are like Jerry's on Seinfeld! We LOVE cereal. The newest favorite (since my Wal-Mart adventure on Thurs) is Bamm-Bamm Berry Pebbles, but they don't stick with ya for very long. I'm anxiously awaiting the boys to open the Choco Cap'n Crunch so I can try it mixed with the PB Cap'n Crunch! (With chocolate milk, of course!) Adult varieties are a long list also--Blueberry Yogurt Burst Cheerios (strawberry is good, too), most of the Post Selects (especially Cranberry Almond), Grape Nuts Trail Mix Crunch, etc.--almost anything that's whole grain.

6. Wine, beer or cocktail?
I prefer "alcopops" and cocktails--Bacardi Raz, berry wine coolers, Colorado Bulldog, Amaretto Sour, Orgasmatini (at a local martini bar--one of their chocolate varieties. Try ordering that in front of your MIL! :scared1: Not funny!), etc. For my Pampered Chef party in Jan, I made margaritas (not diet, though), which were very good--probably because DH wouldn't let me "settle" for Jose Cuervo (he suggested I get Petron Silver, and it is SOOOO good!). I've still got leftover mix in the freezer and bring it out when friends are over. DH prefers beer (Budweiser, Old Style, Boulevard Wheat with a dash of OJ) but loves the mixed drinks, too--especially vodka tonic with a tweeest of lime (but only with premium vodka--Stoli, Ketel One, Vox, etc.). We are looking very forward to the tastings (but we'll skip the wine tasting--not fans of wine). I'm usually the designated driver, so I'm not a big drinker. Once in awhile, he gets to be the DD. But watch out on the cruise when I don't have to drive! :rotfl2:
