I know everything is up in the air right now with closed land borders etc. but we're going to keep our reservation for a Premium site starting April 18, 2021 and pray this vaccine will bring numbers down and the restrictions for returning to Canada not too stringent (i.e. self-quarantine).

When the date comes to pay the balance of the reservations, we will decide then after reviewing the current situation whether to cancel or not. :hourglass

I know that uncertain feeling. After last spring break got canceled we just rolled it over to 2021. My wife won’t retire until June. Right now she would have to quarantine for 2 weeks upon her return to Illinois, which would not be good. I’m just about ready to make another reservation for later in the year. At least I didn’t have to make any adr’s or FastPass selections but I do have park reservations.

Disney was an alternative reservation after cancelling another family vacation we do annually. We knew at the time we were taking a chance but who knew that 13 months later this trip too might need to be cancelled or amended.

Very true. We had multiple trips cancelled and redirected last year. When we cancelled Spring Break, we were confident our big summer trip in August would work...not so much! We rebooted part of that one (Universal) for early April of this year, and we are still unsure. We don't have the quarantine rules in WI, DW is in the process of being vaccinated as a nurse, and kids are young and healthy. So, it's really a question of how we feel about my exposure. Time will tell, but we are hopeful that waning winter and growing vaccinations will bring things to a point at which we are comfortable going!

We're still planning on our May 2021 trip. The way vaccines are rolling out here I doubt if we will have received ours before we leave.

But pulling our trailer means minimal contact with others on the road and no airports, public potties or hotel rooms. That and Disney's safety protocols plus our own 'extras' make us feel pretty good about going

This is how we felt about camping this past summer - really gave us a comfortable way to spend some time away. Unfortunately, our April trip to Universal is airport/hotel based, so that changes the calculus.

That was the way we were feeling but the Canadian land borders don't look like they're opening anytime soon. Like I'm hearing on the US news, the vaccines here in Canada aren't happening as quickly as originally planned. Let's keep our fingers crossed as our daughter is staying in a cabin with her family and we just got a great discount on it!

I hope the borders are able to open soon, although I understand the reason for the closure. We were thinking of going to Glacier NP in the late, late summer and since we enjoy the drive to Waterton and it's such a beautiful place, we were planning on doing a day trip. Then we remembered we wouldn't be able to get across the border!

Not going to Glacier now. Our Yellowstone reservations got cancelled so we're tabling it all for next year.

Well it's official - a sad day today in that we cancelled our April 2021 Fort Wilderness vacation 😢 On top of that hearing that 2022 Disney will no longer run the Magical Express shuttle so that will be an added expense on next year's visit if our daughter figures out which week she will be off in between semesters of teaching college. Hoping everyone else with upcoming Disney vacations are able to go and have an awesome and magical time.:tink:

A sad day indeed. We had to cancel our Dec 2020 trip and rebooked for Dec 2021. We also, very sadly, just cancelled that trip as well. Between the Canadian border closure, the quarantine order that Biden just signed and the new hotel quarantine the Canadian government has now imposed, I don't feel comfortable going anywhere or dropping more money on a vacation that might not happen. Luckily, Disney refunded us for the 13, 9 day hopper passes that we had already paid for and refunded us our $200 deposit for each campsite we had booked at fort wilderness. Within one day the refunds were complete. I don't think we will be back to Disney for a long time yet 🥺

I hear you, we also cancelled for a second time, our trip to Hawaii. I do hope that it will be safe to book The Fort and WDW for April 2022 but at least am comfortable knowing Disney is the best company to deal with when it comes to cancellation and refunds.

I think there will be a lot of this happening throughout the year. There is a lot of hope on a vaccine, but the roll out is going slower than anticipated and there are still too many unknowns. We cancelled out trip to Europe, including DLP and pushed it to July 2022. We do still have a number of domestic trips, including the DIS Meet in June at Pigeon Forge and 2 weeks at the Fort going into the 50th. We'll have to see how things look as we get closer.

It definitely is not great. I have not seen my canadian camping people in 2 years. Trips cancled, kids upset. Im still going to disney in november this year. As long as its open anyway. I need to do something, poor kids have lost a few years of being kids now.
