In April 2018 Easter falls on April 1st. How will this affect crowds the last two weeks of April? Will they be lighter then they normally would be?

We usually go the end of August so crowds are fairly low. How would the April crowds compare? We wanted to try the good weather in April and be able to see flower and garden festival.

Thanks for any info!

Yes Crowds will be lighter than weeks surrounding Easter. But it is still Spring Break time and will be noticeably busier than the end of August

Will the good weather be worth the trade off of going in April vs late August?

Hoping rides like living with land, figment, Nemo, small world etc won't have lines at all or under 15 min or so.

My family doesn't do coasters so those lines are a non issue and we use fastpass for all the popular rides.

So it won't be Easter level crowds which is good, but will it be summer crowd busy?

Mid to late April is to-die-for when Easter is early. Great weather. Reasonable crowds. Went in mid-April 2015 and will be going again in mid-April 2018.

As is always the case regardless of crowds, get there early and have a good plan and you'll really enjoy yourself. But crowds are plenty manageable in April post-Easter even with the school vacationers coming down from Massachusetts. If you are looking for something to compare crowd levels, I'd probably consider 2018 similar to 2015. One website had 4 and 5 for crowd levels for every single day starting in April 12th and right through to April 30th.

Okay, thanks! Great to hear! My kids have a school vacation in mid-late April as we are in the Northeast. I think I will go ahead with planning!!

Our school break is called April vacation, not Spring break so our break does not often correspond with Easter. Next year the break will be April 14-22nd. That's when everyone we know will be doing Disney next year.

Most schools in the entire Northeast have April - not Easter - vacation and many head to Disney. It will be quite busy and airfare will be really high.
I don't believe your hope of no lines or 15 minute lines is reasonable. They will be longer than that in late April. Lines are seldom under 15 minutes anymore. Don't set yourself up for disappointment.

Same here -- we are in Ma and will have our april vacation the 14-22nd in 2018 -- very thankful that Easter is earlier next year. We are already planning our trip for that week. That particular week also coincides with the dark side marathon weekend so from Thursday through Sunday that brings in a lot of people. I don't expect it to be crazy like this year will likely be. I'm going for a conference this year as well as for the marathon. This year with Easter falling on the same week I am preparing for almost Christmas level crowds. Next year should be much better.

Even if the NE states have their April vacations many other parts of the country go with Easter vacation or just a March Spring break so I am anticipating that next year April will be busy but not as bad as this year. I recall seeing a thread somewhere that went though all the school vacations around the country. I'm not sure where i saw it or if it even had the schedules yet for next year listed. That might be helpful to look at to know truly how bad it will be.

good weather
I have never been in april, but I have read in a few different threads that April weather is perfect - warm, not real humid and not the typical afternoon showers that you would see in August. I'm going this April so I can report back after the trip.

Thanks! When I normally go end of August or January there are no lines for figment and living with the land etc. They are always walk on. So I don't agree that those times don't exist anymore.

Yes all of new England does have April vacation and I know a lot of people will be there. Just hoping it's not rated an 8-10 for those days is all.

I teach in Maryland and my sister teaches in Pennsylvania. Our spring breaks always coincide with Easter and they will next year as well.

My nephew in Manhattan has April break. So maybe it's once you get north of PA :-) that being said I don't think April break weeks will be nearly as busy as the weeks before and after Easter.
