We were planning to visit over Presidents weekend in February but it sounded like crowd levels are high so we were starting to plan for the last few days of April instead, assuming spring break crowds would be over so it would be less busy with school going However, a few good neighbor hotels I've checked online are sold out for the last several days of April. Is there something going on at the end of April?

We are going that same time frame, and I searched all over and found nothing particular going on at that time (which is why we chose it!). The on-property hotels seem to have plenty of availability, so not sure what is going on with the hotels you are looking at?

We were in DL at the end of April this year and it was insane! I thought it was supposed to be off season. I just got back from DL and it was not nearly as crowded. I mentioned this to a waitress at Tortilla Joes and she said there are now 6 weeks of Spring Break and that includes the entire month of April.

If they do Food & Wine again for the entire month of April, I'd expect it to be pretty crowded. Probably less crowded than President's Day weekend, but at the tapering Spring Break levels.
