I am really hoping to go during the Easter holidays next year, but to leave it to the last minute to book as the prices quoted just now are very high. We live in Scotland so ideally flying out of Glasgow would be our preferred option.

My son's school breaks up for two weeks on 31 March and we hope to go for one or two weeks.

My question is whether last minute deals have come up in the past say within a month (or even a week) of a trip in a school holiday, or is there a better time to book ie just after xmas. A package deal is our preferred option. I think Thomas Cook fly out of Glasgow during the Easter hols.

I appreciate that last minute deals are a bit hit or miss, but just interested if anyone has had any experience of any such late deals.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Easter is as popular as Xmas in my experience, flights and hotels are at a premium. I have not tried last minute for Easter but I have Xmas, twice. Once we paid more than booking in advance the other time not a flight available, ended up staying at home.
I watch flights & deals all year, I don't recall anyone getting a good last minute deal at Easter but there is always a chance, just don't build up your hopes of going, there is a good chance you will have to pay a high price or stay home.
