We booked our April accommodations last month. The only discount we were able to get for April 15-17 was the AAA 10% discount, so far... (note that the rest of our stay was booked at 11 months out, since we're DVC members, and are saving points over the first weekend). So we've got 10% off rack rates for two nights, two rooms: one deluxe savannah view bunk bed room for us four plus 9 yr old niece, and one regular king bed savannah view for my parents. And since the 15th and 16th are still "peak" season, we're paying a little more than $400 a night for the deluxe, and about $350 a night for the other. The rest of the time we will spend in a 2BR at BWV, for which we pay only maintenence fees now .
Tho this cost is not a deal-breaker for us, it is an aweful lot to pay; we are really hoping to get AP discounts on those rooms, and will be calling back as soon as they are released, if at all possible. I'll be watching.
When we went this past April there was a discount offered to Disney Vias card holders. We had originally booked with the AAA discount, and then was able to save almost 100 a night at the AKL using the Visa discount. It was not a buy 5 and get 2 free deal, it was simply a lower rate for the room only reservations. Could reserve as many or as fre nights as you wanted. The spring break here in MA is always the third week in April, and that is when we went. It was the regular season and that it when the discount started. Before that the only discount we could get was the AAA one.
How were the crowds? Did it seem like alot of schools were on Spring Break? This will be our schools first year that there Spring Break does not come at Easter and when I saw that I said HEY We Are Going To DISNEY!!
