We just got back from a week on the dining plan. It was good and we saved money, but there was no way we could finish all of our meals. I would do it again, though!
Day 1:
Earl of Sandwich - pretty good - was expecting better.
O'hana - excellent food and service. Would definitly do again!
Day2 :
Le Cellier - WONDERFUL! Again would do again...
Tangering Cafe - Best CS all week
Day 3:
Columbia House- Good, would do again!
Crystal Palace - Food was good, but I think once was enough.
Day4:
Baotwrights - breakfast - good food-TERRIBLE service! Took 45 minutes for check! Complained to manager who did nothing.
Flame Tree - mediocre
Wolfgang pucks express - very good
Day 5:
French Qurater -Yuck
Mama Melrose- Food was good, but we were full before main course was brought. Once was enough fo us.
Day 6:
Chef Mickey's - food average, once was enough
Pecos Bills- decent- nothing to write home about.

Hope this helps!

Sounds as though you ate at some wonderful places.

I know you're probably busy getting back to your normal routine and doing laundry but do you recall what you had at the CS in Morocco?

And would you care to share more details about Crystal Palace and your decision not to repeat a meal there?

Thanks for posting! Sounds like you had some great meals. :goodvibes

Can you tell me about WPC? How did it work with the DP? Were there any exclusions or surcharges? What did you have and how was it? I'm really looking forward to dining there!

What was "yuck" at the FQ.. We will be staying at POFQ in November so very curious.
Did you have any children with you? Just curious becase Le Cellier is one I'm thinking aobut but I have small children.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reviews. Can't wait to try out the dining plan this December! :cheer2:

I am not the OP but I can tell you all about wolfgang puck cafe. Actually the Cafe and Express (which the OP went to) are different anyway. As far as the cafe is concerned it was one of our BEST meals! I started with the roasted butternut squash soup with red pepper puree and it was FABULOUS! I wasn't going to try it because I am not really a big eater-especially when it comes to soup but the waiter said it was amazing so I gave it a go. Meanwhile, my dh had the buffalo chicken quesadilla which he liked alot but as soon as he tasted my soup it was all over-he loved it too! (I even tried to get the recipe but it is made off site) Now, for our main course we both had the filet mignon that was perfectly cooked to medium well but yet still amazingly tender. (there was a surcharge of $12.45 total for both) The filet was rubbed with a seasoning mix that was delicious. It was a teensy weensy bit spicy but not enough to over power the filet itself. I believe it also comes with a special type of sauce (demi glace maybe?) but we ordered ours plain due to my allergy to mushrooms. The filet was served with creamy mashed potaoes (which they call ricer potaotes or something like that but they are really mashed) that had the most delicious onion frisse on top. The frisse was like really thin curly onion pieces deep fried in batter with a little spice that were crispy and oh so yummy! Oh, and I forget to mention the bread that comes before the main entree. It was this warm dense, yet extra soft yellowish bread that comes with an amazing balsamic vinegar and oil dip. I hate to say it, but I think I ate it all while my dh was in the rest room! Oops! Then if that wasn't enough, it was time for dessert. My dh had the creme brulee sampler. It was I think 3 small little creme brullets-1 vanilla, 1 choc and 1 strawberry that he loved. Truth be told though, I was kind if too involved in my own dessert to even care what he thought of his! I had the warm dark choc cake with double choc icecream covered in choc sauce and accompanied with the most heavenly whipped cream you have ever tasted . I could only eat about a third of it but oh man! I think it even beat out the kilaleau torte from Kona! Well, that's my review- If you think you are interested in any of the above then I would highly recommend this restaurant! Sorry this is so long but this meal deserves a good write up as it was one of the best ones we have ever had at Disney!

Great review hegs65!
Can you tell me the reason for the $12 surcharge? Was it the steak, or just a general surcharge.
Did the waiter explain it upfront?

I believe the rule at all 1 TS credit restaurants is that there is a $5 surcharge for any entree over $27. We knew that in advance so it wasn't a problem. The grilled angus filet which we had was $34.95 but they only charged us $5 each plus tax.

Hegs65-Thank you so much for your review! It was wonderful! Did you do a dining report of your entire trip? I would love to read it if you did. When were you at WPC? I had heard that they recently did away with the surcharges but don't know how accurate that info was.

Sorry It took so long. French Quarter was ike mediocre mall food. Edible but not something you really look forward to. But we LOVED the resort itself!

At Morrocco, we had the swarma platter. Delish!

At wolfgang puck express, we got pizzas and desserts. There was no sure charge and it was counter service.

Thanks. Glad to know this so I won't be taken off guard by it. This board is wonderful for preparing me for our upcoming trip. Thanks for the great info!

I don't remember this being an issue when we ate at Lecellier. And the waitress didn't say anything about it. Have you seen this in writing somewhere as I haven't and this is the first mention I've seen on the boards.

Thanks. Just curious.
