April 2, 2011 - 7 Night Western Caribbean

We are so overwelmed with the excusions...the only thing we have scheduled as of now is swimming/playing with the dolphns. I do not even know where. LOL>
We are afraid to venture too far off shore. We may stay at the beach area for when we are ported.

see you all at 245. i called to see about the possibility of an upgrade & they told me that the ship is totally full!

wow is that the level or the whole ship.

My guess would be the whole ship because as of now it is not showing on DCL website for booking. When we went the same week last year it was sold out too but Easter fell during the cruise. The ship never felt crowded though.

This will be my first cruise
No clue how my 12 year old daughter talked me into it :sad2:
Shes trying to get a friend to come along.. any thoughts? How could i add her in because the cruise is sold out for her family to book

Then again.. Will i get seasick?
Thats our only fear, as well. We have been on ferry boat rides and i have been on sail boats for a few days...
Im a tad worried!

hoping for a trip of relaxation :cool2:
Anyone have a 12 year old daughter as well? Or at least some handy tips!

Hi there. I can't wait to meet you. Everyone on this board has been extremely helpful.
My daughter gets motion sick. I'm planning a trip to see the doctor soon. I guess there us a prescription patch that goes behind the ear that will help. However, I have heard from many that you barely know the ship is moving.
I am not sure how you would try to add a friend to your room. It's possible though. Maybe call Disney cruise lines...
My daughter is 13 years old. Her and a few other girls in that age range are starting to get to know each other through Facebook. My daughter is a bit nervous also. But I know we are going to have a blast. and, my husband will be leaving for Afghanistan right after the cruise, so, we will make the best of our special trip!
Sooooooo excited. It's only s few more weeks away.
Amy

So, can you all give me some ideas of things to pack?
Are you packing casual or dressy clothing? Shorts, suits, etc.
Can the kids wear shirts, shirts, flip flops? I thought I heard somebody say no open toed shoes or shorts allowed for dinner? Am I wrong?

What other type of things will you pack to be prepared? I saw s thread on the main board about bringing a zip tie to hold your fish extended in place, bring an over the door Shoe organizer for toilets. Etc. Bring pant hangers for wet suits to dry on in closet, and I am wondering if you all hsve any other secrets that will be helpful?
I also read that you can call room service and order cookies and milk in your room before bed. Mmmmm.

Also, please tell me what excursions you are planning. We haven't planned much at all yet. Might be too late now!
I'm excited to meet you all. I know there us a set time of
2:45 pm but where are we meeting?

This is good news. I was worried with a full ship that it would feel crowded a lot of the time.

I think she said in the Promenade Lounge, which is mid-ship on Deck 3. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I have started my packing list! I am pretty sure I am overpacking though!

Looks like 2:45pm will work for all of folks. So let's make it official.....

DIS Meet - 2:45pm in the Promenade Lounge

That works for us too!!! Can't wait to meet everyone!!!! :cool1:

Just think 3 weeks from today we will all be in Key West!!!!

We have only booked one excursion: Grand Cayman Island Tour.
Will do Key West on our own, the bridge we walk on a weekly basis is the length of Key West!!!
Cozumel we also plan on doing on our own, just shopping in the morning and heading back to the ship for our couples massage in the afternoon.

Cruise docs are in the mail, and should be here tomorrow!!!!

WAHOOOO It won't be long now!!!

Hey everybody! This is my first post EVER even though I've been lurking on these boards for years. Anyway, my husband and I and two sons (6 and 3 but will be almost 7 and 4) are SO excited about this cruise! It's our 3rd (we were on the Wonder in October of '02 for our honeymoon and then in January of '04 we were on the Magic, both Eastern Caribbean) and will be the first for our boys! Seems like there are a lot of kids their age and we're happy to see that! I haven't been able to read through all the posts here yet but am working on it :). Would love to be added to the list! We're from the Charleston, SC area, fyi.

yeah

SuzCruz,
LOL. Yes, Courtney told me yesterday that she added her as a friend. She also has chatted a time or two with another girl from here who is 13.
How exciting that your daughter will have a special birthday on the cruise. I believe that you can order her a cake and they will deliver it to your room...
I will be honest, I am trying to get Courtney to get to know these girls her age that will be on our cruise, I want her to feel comforatable hanging out with them, but she is barely on facebook. She has cheer practice three nights a week (11 hours) plus competitions on the weekends.
I will see if she can get on FB tonight. We havce nothing going on tonight. YIPPEE!
