April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

Hi Angie
My family and I will also be on the April 19th Western cruise on the Magic. This will be our 6th cruise. I am trying to find a friend for my son Zachary. He is going to be 7 in July. He is a really sweet boy. He loves to go to the camp and I thought it would be nice to have a friend he could go play with. He would be excited to get to know your daughter before the cruise. we are from Mass. Yvette

Not only am I sooo excited to be going on our first cruise but I am so excited to find this forum!! It will be so cool to get to know some of you prior to the cruise.
I am Angie
DH is Gerard
DD Emily will be almost 7
DD Julia will be 3

If anyone can tell me how to post a picture I will do that too.

Angie

We are booked for the April 19th cruise on the Magic. I have a 10 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. I am trying to meet someone who has a 7 year old that my son Zachary can hang out with at camp. He is a great kid, very outgoing and loves the camp(this will be our 6th Disney cruise). It would be great if he made a friend before the cruise that he could meet once we get on board.
Hi Yvette, I also have a DD10 and DS7 and a DS12. This is our second cruise and both my little ones love the camp. Can't say the same for the 12 year old.

Hi, I also have a DD10 and DS7. Both of my kids are outgoing and would love some new cruise pals. They love the clubs and will be participating in lots of events. :cool1:

Welcome.:grouphug:

 I'm Back....

OMG, I've been gone for awhile.
Just finished reading the last 23 pages.

Hympermommy - our vacation to FL went great. We had GREAT weather with only one 3 hour rain storm, but we were driving from one house to another during it. Went to North Port, then to Bonita Springs and Ft Meyer, then to Stuart and finally New Symerna. 27 hours straight (with multiple stops) to get down and 21 hours on the way back.

mom_rules - I was the one that brought up the cigars and cognac because it was listed in the navigator on last years cruise. I believe it was listed both Wed and Thur nights. I went Thurs night and plan on doing Thurs night with my BIL on this cruise too.

Here's why I haven't been on in a while.
Both myself and my wife were picked as extras in a movie scene that's being filmed in our city. It's a movie called Ashecliffe, directed my Martin Scorceses with Leonardo Dicaprio as the 'star' also in our scenes. It's been pretty interested to see what goes on behind the scenes. As for Dicaprio, I've stood within 2 feet from the guy on numerous scenes and he never spoke a single word to me or anyone of the other extras in the movie. Not even a 'hey', or 'hi'.

I'll have to cut this short, brain stopped working about 6 pages ago.

Just for the record, I love Leo Dicaprio. As a matter of fact, Lilo & I went together to see one of his movies (Blood Diamond), and he is a fine specimen. I know he is young, but so am I!?:rolleyes1
So, that is very exciting. Good for you and DW.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

Well, I'm up to about the middle of the 3d season of Lost. In order not to spoil it for anyone else that's watching that season (yeah, right... probably just me, but now I'm hooked) let's just say Locke just was introduced to someone very interesting on the island and the fear in that guy's eyes is almost tangible. Can't wait to get back to it.

Jeff, too cool about you being an extra in a movie. I'll definitely have to catch that one.

Anty, yes, DiCaprio's young, but that just means he's trainable, I guess :-) Nah....give me Cap'n Jack any day. I'd rather have someone experienced. But then again, I've got my King Charming and he has enough experience for both of them put together :-)

I can't believe it's soo soon now. I still have to make my fish extender. Got the material and stuff and have meant to work on it for the past two weekends but I just get so into watching Lost.

Joan, I haven't forgotten about the thing for Tyler. I"ll try to get to that tomorrow morning or so. Still having a bit of trouble with getting my newsletter out and that took up most of my morning this morning. But I'll get to it soon.

I hope the new dining rotation doesn't put me somewhere other than Lumiere's for formal night. Of course, being a non-cat-1-3 person, I don't know what my rotation will be. But I'm hoping and hoping and hoping that it'll be Lumiere's for formal night (my birthday too). Went for a fitting in the dress Saturday. Boy, this whole feminine thing is soooooo not me but I'm looking forward to being in that dress :-) Just one night every 20 years I can be a princess, eh? :-)

Well, I'd best get to work. Catch you guys later on.

All of a sudden I feel like the cruise is almost here and I have soooo much on my mind. So sorry, I have to vent.

I still don't have a computer, I haven't finished my door magnets. Dell says I probably won't get it until the the 9th of April.

Then to top it off, my husband came home from his business trip and told me he probably has to transfer to Chicago for his job. I have never moved! I've been in the same house since I was 5 (we bought the house from my parents). Talk about stress! :sad2: I definintely need a vacation!

-Joan

Joan - I'm feeling your pain and I'm especially bummed for you about the possible move thing. I SO get the dynamic of that. I'm living in my childhood house and have been my whole life. I inherited it from my mom who died in 2002. I can't even imagine living any place else. Maybe you can rent the house so you won't have to sell it. Man, this vacation sounds like it will be the cure!

Blood Diamond was a GREAT movie!!! I can totally convey that Anty is a HUGE Leo fan and she was well behaved in the movie even when they did close-ups! She didn't drool once (as far as I know)!

OMG - I am SO pissed off at DVC right now!

We are now NOT staying at AK as we had hoped and had booked. I am NOT happy. Apparently when I booked the orig ressie back in Jan, I asked for avail at Wilderness Lodge first; there was nothing BUT they did have something for AK which we love (we love the Lodge too, but that has taken second place since AK). I guess they had asked me at the time, if I wanted to be wait-listed for the Lodge even tho I booked at AK and I must have said yes. Well, of course, I totally forgot I did this as it was done back in January and I have nothing else going on in my life that would make me forget I did this (can u here the sarcasm?!) In any event, on Thursday last week I get a ressie confirmation that we got moved to the Lodge. I was fuming - so I called DVC ASAP and thus found out the info as I stated. Now, of course, they have no avail at AK; there are only about 60 rooms open - they are still building the rest of the Villas. I did speak with a manager who was very apologetic (but couldn't offer anything) and explained to me that DVC no longer calls the members and ask them if avail opens up on something they wait-listed, if they still wanted it as they have done in the past. New policy as of last year and a stupid one if you ask me!!! So now it's up to the member to remember and let DVC know if you want to still be on the wait list or not. The most he would do for us is do a High Priority wait list so we are the next in line if something opens up with our dates. Not that the Lodge is the worse case scenario, it's just the prinicpal of it all and since it's an early 40th b-day celebration for my DH, I just wanted everything to be perfect. He LOVES AK and I was pysched that there was even rooms avail. It's quite a disappointment. The funny thing is that I called DVC since making the ressie in Jan for some other things and none of reps I spoke with even asked me about the wait list thing as a reminder or otherwise. I'm just hoping we'll have some luck and someone will drop out - although it seems unlikely with the vacation being a little under a month away. Sorry - I'm just venting.....

Please let me know :confused3 :cutie:

Hi Yvette,
Emily said "of course I'll be his friend. We can go to the clubs together." So you can let him know. If you come up to the Yankee swap, they can meet there. But there will so many kids his age, I am sure he will make friends in 2 minutes.

My guys (ages 14 and 12) have been emailing some of the other kids on the trip. Unfortunately, I haven't had time lately to let them answer. To the kids that my guys are emailing: I'll try to get them on tomorrow morning. It's totally and completely their mean old mom's fault :rotfl2:

But other than that, you've read about the DisMeet on Saturday, right? That's another good way for the kids to get to know each other. You gonna be there?

We are also from Mass - Gardner (where it always snows, right HyperMommy! ) Jim, Karen, Meaghan and Kelly. We also have 2 sons (the pirates in my signature) but they are in college and not on break, so they won't be coming with us :sad1:

We are traveling with friends from Gardner also - Joe, Jennifer, Siobhan (11) and Eoin, (7). More friends for your kids!

Hope you'll come to our meet on Saturday at 2 PM in the Promenade Lounge.

Yes, and I want some!!! :rotfl2:

The weather channel says it's 80 degrees and partly cloudy here. And here I am inside working on this stupid program that doesn't want to behave!! :surfweb: :scared1:

Only 32 days until the cruise, though! Bahama mamas, here I come!!! :cool1:  :rotfl2:

Welcome again to all our newcomers - we told you about the meet on Saturday but I don't think we told you about our "special activity" at the meet, our "Yankee Swap". It's going to be a LOT OF FUN and we hope you'll join us.

The full description of the Yankee Swap is post #1595 on page 107 of this thread. When you get a minute go back and read it so you'll be ready to join in on all the fun!

bdwk1997,

Gardner isn't that far either! This will be FUN!!!

Colleen

Gina,

Thanks for saying I didn't drool watching Leo. I guess I hid it well.:rolleyes1

Dont worry about the AKL thing. Life could be worse. I know you know that. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Jeff wont care. You just want him to have the best time, I know that. And he will, because he will be hanging with us and drinking. :drinking1

Your friend,
Anty:hug:
