April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

Well, we all could learn a lesson from you, Antoinette! Your patience definately paid off...literally! Good for you! I have been "scared" for you for a while now!

Off to a disco birthday party....for 6 year olds!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi everyone. Well, we were supposed to head down to jersey today, but are snowed in. I figured it woud be a good time to look for airfare, and it was.:thumbsup2

Bought today: American Airlines, Laguardia to Orlando Non-stop, round trip

$175.00 per person :cool1:

Flying down Friday, the 18th @ 9:10am
Flying home Sat., the 26th @ 12:40pm

So happy that is taken care of.

Boy you are lucky. I just checked AA the other day and they were $1000 and now it is up to $258.00.

Just keep checking everyday. The gas prices are going down, so the airfare is bound to drop. Plus, the airlines will be releasing their April discounts in January. I actually considered waiting longer, but just wanted to get it done. I will be upset if they drop dramatically.

I booked our car today too. Used Budget. Got it from MCO to Cape Canaveral for $38.00.
From Cape Canaveral to MCO it is $46.00. :confused3

Now I have to think about excursions. We can book those on Jan. 20. :yay:

Antoinette

I just checked kayak and you can get airfare for $227 right now. Fly down out of LGA to MCO on AA and back from DAB to LGA on Delta.
Check it out.

I actually booked with Southwest on the same dates as you. We got $285rt. I was pretty happy with that fare at the time. I never flew with them before but had heard good things. We also booked with Budget and got the same rates as you. We booked for the 18th but decided to use DCL trans. for the port to MCO. We have a 12:35 flight and didn't want to stress about renting a car and making it to the airport in time and going through security.
Where are you staying the night of the 18th? We have a 2:50 flight (if I remember correctly) and have reservations at the Hyatt and then renting the car in the morning.

We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral on the 18th. Last time we stayed at the Radisson, but got CI&S for $99. so thought we would try it.
Very excited now. :cool1:

Have you thought about any excursions?

Antoinette

Right now, they are as follows, but knowing my family they will probably change a few times before Jan 20th.:rotfl:

Key West - just walk around, go back to the ship early
Grand Cayman - charter a boat through Captain Marvins to go fishing
Cozumel - Dolphin swim
Castaway Cay - 1/2 day fishing trip (as you can tell, my family loves to fish)

How about you? I can't believe it is a little more than 4 months away:woohoo:

Well, we voted today:

Key West: want to rent an electric car and drive around
Coz: Dolphin Swim (see you there;) )
GC: Pirate encounter
CC: hang out and relax, parasailing with DD

we will definately book PALO for dinner one night, hopefully mon or thurs.

On Long Island NY we have been pretty lucky. Mostly just rain with a little light snow. My mother-in-law is actually in Germany now. I believe she is in Schulselberg (I know I spelled that name wrong:lmao: )

I never had a Konk Kooler. It is now on my list of things to do while on the cruise:thumbsup2 Have a Happy Holiday.:santa:

We have a ton of snow!! We already had plenty and got another 11-12 inches yesterday. DS has already had 1 day no school 2 days late start, 1 day early dismissal...this is all within the last 2 weeks!!!

Well, you all got me all involved in excursions now. But before I moved forward I have a question...We are in Cozumel on Wednesday the 23rd, correct? Thanks for helping me out..

Joan: Check your cozumel ressies. I pm'ed you and emailed you. Not sure what you will check first.

Michelle

PS. Conny, I don't mind being on the receiving end of the snow days or delays as I am a teacher and welcome the change of pace or time off!:thumbsup2

Michelle & Joan, looking forward to seeing you again on the boat.
It seems like forever since Splashdown.

We booked through Sam's Club, which is really Expedia, and they told me on the phone, we are not going to get our packet until 2 weeks before our trip. What good will that do?! If there's any information you guys think are important, please share! :headache: Thanks.

Happy Holiday's!

-Joan

Joan: What everyone is getting is a planning packet...excursions, trip tips, packing ideas etc....A overview of the trip...along with a letter telling when you can book your excursions and when final payment is due etc.

What Sam's club (or expedia) is talking about is that 2 weeks before the trip you will get your cruise documents, luggage tags, airline ressies if booked through disney etc.

I would call them back and reask.

Happy Holidays to all!
Michelle

That's what I was trying to tell them on the phone but you know how that goes sometimes! :headache: I'll try again next week. Thanks for the info.

Merry Christmas Eve!

-Joan

:santa: :santa: Joan, I am not booking the electric car in advance. We will do it when we get there.

Merry Christmas everyone:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:
