April 17, 2011 on the Dream

I thought for sure DD would still be able to fit her capris from the fall... Let me add- I JUST purchased them last fall and she was doing the wiggle dance last night when I asked her to try them on. I guess there's more shopping to be done!

Ah Ness, you had me laughing as I do the "Wiggle Dance" everyday to see if I have finally started to fit back into my clothes, too!

As for cruise shopping, I've made out pretty great on a number of swimsuit coverups from Athleta's sale section online, some as low as $17! (Check tops, dresses and swim categories). Good luck to everyone heading out today; hope you all find what you need.

Have been checking daily but still have not caught a cancellation for brunch or high tea. If anyone is going to cancel either one and would be willing to let us have your reservation, please let me know! :flower3: Thank you!!!!

It is Saturday, and exactly 5 weeks from today some of us will be finishing last minute preparations before traveling to the port in the morning. Some of us will be in transit, some will be at WDW, some will be at US/IOA, some will be in a hotel near the port or at the airport, and a few of the very luckiest ones will already be onboard and enjoying the first part of their B2B adventure! One thing's for sure... ALL of us will be eagerly anticipating our DREAMy 4-night cruise!! It will have seemed like forever since we booked our trips and we will hardly be able to believe the day is almost here!

All of our clothing, swimsuits, and accessories have been carefully packed in suitcases and carry-ons. Digital and video cameras are charged and ready to capture every magical moment. Embarkation outfits are laid out and ready to be put on first thing in the morning. Door decorations have been created. FE extenders are ready to be hung and FE gifts are ready to be distributed. Final cruise documents have been filled out online, printed, and safely stowed along with passports in our carry-ons. Mail and newspaper deliveries have been stopped. Pets are boarded. Gosh, we hope to be able to sleep tonight!! There are butterflies in our stomachs and smiles on our faces as we imagine our first sighting of the brand new huge ship!

For those of us who've cruised Disney out of Port Canaveral before, we know the terminal has been renovated and are curious to see the changes. We pretty much know what to expect and have been visualizing the entire process in our dreams for months! For those of you who will embark on your very first Disney cruise, you are a bit anxious - hoping that all of your planning and research has paid off and that everything will go smoothly. Don't worry – it will be fabulous trip!!! :goodvibes

If any of you looking for tickets have a Costco membership and plan to return to Universal in the next few years, I was able to get 3 day park to park tickets that are good for any 3 days between now and 2014 (I've read that some expire in 2013) for $139.99.

Which Costco did you get it from? Ours does not sell it :sad2:, and at this time it seems like the best deal out of 4 we checked. Please let me know :flower3:

My friends, I have to share - do you know why Costco's deal is the best for us? Because my DH does not know what hit him (once again :lmao:): 10 minutes ago, "HE", :rotfl2: :lmao: got an idea to ADD a day to our vacation  I just got off the phone with HRH and added another night to our stay :dance3:

Old Navy is having a $7 sundress sale tomorrow and I'm gonna check it out.:yay:

Maybe I won't have to invest in both tops and shorts!

Too funny...that's where I'm heading today as well. Hopefully will be able to get a few sundresses rather than capris/shorts and tees. So much more comfortable.

How was everyone's shopping expeditions today? Any good bargains?

I got them at the Costco in Wayne, NJ. The item number for the tickets is 528887. I called and asked them to check if they were in stock before I made the trip.

You guys are gonna have a blast at HRH!!!

I decided to wait until tomorrow. Instead, I put DD's outfits out in the guest room and decided what she'd wear when during the trip. Now I know exactly what we still need to buy. Although she needs new capris, she really won't need them for the cruise. She has one pair she can still fit, so we'll bring those. At this point, she needs a dress for dress up night and a cover up. We're set for everything else after going shopping some last night.:)

Deb - I shopped on line - I ordered recommended by you sneakers and ,recommended by Debbie, Crocs (Patricia): shoebuy.com has free shipping, free return shipping plus 20% entire purchase :yay: I can't wait to try them on! May be I will pack less, afterall :lmao:
I am trying to leave one of my DH pairs of shoes at home :lmao: - will he be allowed to Palo in "almost" closed toes sandals? This way he will only have sneakers and sandals, leaving more space for me and our DD :thumbsup2
If anybody still shopping at home: OldNavy has same sale on dresses, plus 20% off reg. price items ("onreg20"), and free shipping over $50
Land's end: free shipping plus 25% off (found coupon on line, don't remember the code). I ordered nice cotton, SPF 50, cover up for DD and water shoes.
I am becoming a big internet shopper fan! :upsidedow

Thank you! We are more than an hour away from Wayne :guilty:.I wonder, would they mail it? :confused3 I will call them tomorrow. We will also try to check with another Costco in Westchester, and with the one in LI where my DM lives.

Went to the mall today, took DD9 and DS7, that boy really likes to shop!! Did great at Old Navy and Justice for DD, gotta love the 40% off coupon, still did some damage. Her favorite item was a cute maxi dress at Justice, she was wearing it all night!! Still need a couple of things for her but for the most part she is all set!

I sat down and wrote out what I was going to wear at each dinner, would like to get one more sundress but that's it, of course then I would love a new bathing suit and cover up! Going to make a trip to DSW before we go, sorry Deb T., going to have to bring more than 2 pairs!!!! I need my sneakers, flip flops and probably 1-2 pairs of shoes to wear at dinners

I am 100% completely obsessed with our trip!! It's the only thing I can think about right now. Hopefully I will be on top and things and not be scrambling at the last minute. Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

Hey Girls!
I have somewhat recovered from having my wisdom tooth pulled yesterday.
We are visiting my parents in NJ this weekend...helps to be with my mom and get some TLC!! DH's grandmother celebrated her 90th birthday today! We had a great time helping her celebrate. She has had an amazing life - escaping Germany, marrying a Palestinian then escaping Palestine with their four children to start a new life in America. The stories she tells...we all say that we need to get her to record them, but it never gets done...
Deb thanks for the great post about 5 weeks out...I have been doing that a lot this week...thinking what we will be doing in 5 weeks. I am so excited for this trip.
My mom and I got our FE gifts sorted and figured out. Gave her instructions of tasks she needs to accomplish this week so that when I am back up here again next weekend we can finish! Now I have to start thinking about clothes. I am a lost cause for shoes - it will be hard for me to settle on five or six...I need an intervention. We are driving, so I guess there may be room.
Just took a pain pill and I am fading fast...Night all!
Debbie

Glad to hear you are recuperating well and had a great day today.

You really should document DH's grandmother's stories! It would be a great legacy to pass down through the generations.

Funny about the shoes... maybe that should be two more lists: those who can get by with 2 pairs and those who are bringing 6+ pairs for a 4-night cruise. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yes I agree with the shoe list. Zappos is my go to store for shoes and I am now a VIP customer... Funny story - last weekend DH and I went away for the night and he makes fun of me all the time with my shoe obsession. Anyway to prove him wrong I only took one pair of shoes - my favorite black short booties. So we get to the B&B before everyone else and we decided to walk around Annapolis...the heel of one of my boots comes off (plastic part on the end of the heel)! I had no other shoes to change in to and it drove me nuts all night! Lesson learned - always bring lots of shoes even if for one night away!

I bet you all wouldn't believe that DH and I spent 9 days touring China with only one pair of shoes each! And no, we didn't buy any while we were there, either. Oh - and no checked luggage! :) (One carry-on duffel had nothing but snacks!) Eating the snacks and taking "throw-away" clothing left us with plenty of room for all the souvenirs we bought. :thumbsup2 Oh yes, I am the master packer!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl::thumbsup2
I have to add though, not exactly for just a 4 night cruise: driving from North to South, a few days at US/IOA, b2b cruises, etc..., hopefully, total 16 days. I know, Deb - still one pair for you! :thumbsup2 :hug:May be one day I will learn to limit to 3 pairs :lmao:

Dress up night? I was thinking its the second night (Nassau day) is that correct?

I'm thinking I can put away 1/3 of the clothes I took out for the 9 day vacation if I can write out what I'll need for each day and night. Right now packing appears to be a whole lot of bathing suits, cover ups and sun dresses for the evenings.

Thanks! E.
