April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Has anyone requested any personalized door decorations for their door with the dates of our cruise?

I found one itinerary for our cruise on 4shared but I wanted to know if anyone requested anything else that they could share.

I had magnets personalized from many people -- Jordak, millipie, tjbaggott, Tom, and shadowryter and they are beautiful. I got the itinerary one from milliepie and many others. Loved in milliepie's 4shared the deckchairs and surfboards. Had a few made in pirate theme, some of the mickey heads, name tags, etc. All but the name tags are dated. The DISigners were great and some were made the next day, some in a couple of weeks. I have to go through them and start printing but not til I'm finished with the FE gifts :).

Oh thank you so much for the correct info! I hadn't checked alot over the holidays and I was surprised by the how the list had grown and I didn't recognize lots of the names, I knew I was doing something wrong.:confused3

We are so excited to participate and my hubby even volunteered to deliver our gifts so he could explore the ship!:woohoo:

Exploring all the decks is one of the things I enjoy about the FE Exchange. :goodvibes It gives me the opportunity to see areas I ordinarily wouldn't have gone to. I also enjoy looking at everyone else's FE's and magnets. I'm always surprised at the number of cabin doors decorated with magnets! :)

I own a cookie company and I make hand decorated cookies. Not only are they beautiful but very yummy. I was planning on making those for the FE exchange and I was afraid that we may be approaching 300+ people by the time 4/1 rolls around. I was concerned about my ability to not only produce that many but to transport them. I have had orders for 160 for wedding favors and that was not a problem so I am sticking to my original plan. Don't worry about spoiling the surprise, you will still be surprised when you see them.
:flower3:

Yum!! You may have just enticed everyone else to join our FE Exchange! ;)

I'm with all of you, I have stopped reading any thread about the Dream. I just got back from the MR cruise on the Wonder and it makes me laugh at all the different reviews from the same trip:confused3. We had wonderful weather in the 70s everyday. We came home to Annapolis on Sunday night to a few inches on snow on the ground and now its raining. Please take me back to the Ship. Bring on April 17

Welcome back! Glad to hear you enjoyed the MR! We did the MR on Disney in 2008 and had a really nice time. DH and DD did the all day "Outdoor Adventure" excursion and loved every minute of it! We encouraged a lot of our west coast family to join us, which made it even more fun! We had seven children with us who were between the ages of 5 and 7 (a 5yo girl, 6yo twin girls, 6yo triplet boys, and a 7yo girl)! :goodvibes

I've had a few magnets made by jordak, but the only one specific to this cruise is a B2B magnet. We now tend to reuse our magnets from cruise to cruise so we rarely put dates or itineraries on them anymore. I don't know if that makes me appear frugal or lazy! :rotfl2:

Well..... another snow day for us today - got the cancellation call last night about 6:30. We got about 8 - 9 inches yesterday, then it stopped until sometime in the middle of the night. Another 6 - 7 inches overnight and now we're getting snow, sleet and just for fun - a little freezing rain mixed in.

DW and DS convinced me to go somewhere warm for Feb. school vacation and we were able to snag the last available cabin on the Magic for the Feb. 19 sailing (western). I know we shouldn't be spending the money, but we have almost 4 feet of snow in the yard, the driveway and front walk look like tunnels and we are REALLY sick of winter - so we need a BREAK!!! I just hope the groundhog's early spring prediction comes true!!!!

Off to buy travel insurance for the Feb. trip. It would be just my luck to get another whopper snow storm and be not able to get to the cruise.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but wow, you guys are chatty. :rotfl:

Is there a list stating who has first and second dining? On our last DCL cruise we linked with other families with kids in similar age groups. It worked really well, and we had a great time. Does anyone else have interest in this?

I haven't seen one, but maybe we can add the info to the roll call list? And does anyone know if the final copy will have cabin numbers on it? If so I need to get my info to....um...Ness??? I think she was the one kind enough to take care of that...??? :confused3

New (at least for me) info on Atlantis from my friend who just visited it last weekend:
"Y -We purchased our wristbands at a kiosk right in the middle of the Atlantis Casino. Unfortunately the prices weren't displayed on the brochures there so you had to ask about each tour price but from what I recall here are the prices- Dig alone $35 adult, $25 child, The Dig& Beach day combo wristbands were about $60 per adult and $40 per child 12 and under and the AquaAdventure wristband passes were around $115 per adult and $80 kids 12 and under, this wristband gives access to everything the dig, beach, pools and water rides. These wristband purchases also include a voucher to eat lunch at one of several of the snackbars around the waterpark, pool and beach areas. With this voucher you get a soda or tea, large fries and basically a choice of a burger, hot dog, conch fritters, chicken sandwich or chicken nuggets with the wristbands purchased at Atlantis Kiosk. I had the conch fritters because I figured we were in the Bahamas while the boys all had cheeseburgers and they were quite large. The menu price of a burger is $9 so the voucher helped save on the lunch cost, also the sodas are refillable so we saved the cups for all day use. Towels are also freely available all over the place so no need to bring your own. The restrooms have no specific areas to be used as changing rooms but the restrooms are plentiful so still can be used for changing. The employee look at the color of your wristband most specifically on the rides to make sure it is an aquapark pass, the beach wristbands were gold while the aquapark passes were white the day we were there. It seemed that beach wristbands were overlooked if just using a pool but aquapark wristbands a must for the rides. ..... Anyhow, hope this helps in your planning!"
and then another one:
"Sure;) please share! Also check to see what your total amount is including all surcharges & taxes etc because sometimes they add up to more than you think. Also inquire as to how early you can "check in" and have use of wristbands so that you get the longest time possible. Maybe you should also see if their wristbands include lunch being that will probably run you at least $40."

Hope it is helpful! :goodvibes

I did request something but it was for a surprise FE gift. It was not our itinerary but does have the dates on it for our cruise. Sorry for not sharing honest!

I live about 40 minutes South of Boston to. Where do you live? I am in Middleboro. I have one child that goes to school in another district. They had school today. The other two and my work have a two hour delay. I found out what is worse than snow, snow followed by sleet and rain!

Hey neighbor! I'm in Berkley. I agree that this sleet/rain that is following the snow is just lousy. I almost pulled my back out trying to shovel the ridge of my driveway. My DH is working and I don't want his car to get into trouble trying to get into the driveway is this all freezes up. I have an SVU and usually don't have a problem. I'm off to work later at St Luke's. Should be nice and icy at 1130 tonight.:scared1:

I don't want to be a downer, but please look into if there are any DCL rules/regulations about bringing on homemade edible gifts. I thought I read on DCL's site at one time that it was a no-no.

Yeah....there was school today . Last night DD said if they cancelled school she was going there anyway and didn't care if she was the only one there. She really hates missing school due to weather. She wants to get to FL asap when school gets out and making up days at the end of the year doesn't interest her at all.

We are getting pounded by the storm currently up here in Yarmouth Maine. It is like a complete white out. Predicting 2 feet, oh joy. Actually my kids, dogs & Husband are all out sledding and having a blast! I am in my PJ's at noon indulging my addiction, er hobbie.

We are in a furnished rental here and all of our stuff still in the house in NY. We wanted it to look staged not empty. But I miss not having all of my materials to plan with and make FE gifts. Hope it sells soon. We so should have put off this cruise but I just could not bare to.

Those people complaining about the cruise made me chuckle. I worked in the hotel industry for 15 years. Vacation is what you make it. Sometimes when people complain and get stuff for free it kind of ruins them. It is negative reinforcement and they cannot feel happy again unless it is repeated. It can ruin a place for you that you previously enjoyed. I've seen it happen. A legit problem, they get something complimentary and because it is pleasureable to get something free, they don't even realize they look for something negative the next time. Most people do not ever consiously know this is happening. I am not saying this happens in all situations. Many times the problem is corrected and this syndrome does not happen. We travel on Disney Cruise line because we are trained in service, see everything and excellent service is priceless. I dance onto that boat!!!! The first time at dinner I went to cut my son's meat and the waiter gently took the silverware out of my hands and said,"No, No, Mommies on vacation, I will do that for you." I swear I wanted to kiss that man, it was dreamy !

I am so excited to meet all of you in person and exchange gifts. I hope mine are ok, I cannot do as much as I had hoped without my materials back in NY.

Sorry for babbling! Hope you are all having a good day and stay safe! Wendy:lovestruc

Well, color me DIS GREEN with envy! :thumbsup2

How fantastic for your family to have an unplanned Disney cruise right between now and our cruise! Too much fun! I guess you really do live up to your DIS name, "outahere"!

 Oh really? Now that sounds like a great job. I love, love, love to bake. In fact, I'm making a lot of cupcakes and cake pops for Valentine's Day. Our local school is doing a fundraiser for a bus driver who has been diagnosed with cancer. It's an addictive hobby and I'm glad to help out though. I just came back from spending my lunch hour buying supplies. I spent, um, well, more than I intended. ;)

Do you use royal icing or fondant? I currently use the almond sugar cookie and royal icing recipes by Bake at 350. I love tweaking the flavorings though, just to see how it turns out. So far, so good!

I tend to keep a lot of notes, but dining isn't one of the things I keep track of. There were a lot of posts at the beginning of this thread where some posted their dining times and then about half-way through this thread there were more dining time posts when we first learned there were assigned show times. If anyone kept track and would like to share that info, please let us know. :)

As for rosters, most meets threads typically don't list cabin numbers because some people prefer to stay private. In many cases, you'll notice that only codes have been given out, (ie. DH, DW, DD, DS, etc.). However, full information has been gathered for people participating in the FE Exchange, but I only send that out through private messages.

Hey we are from Annapolis too!! Not sure if I posted to you before. We live near the Bay Bridge. I am so ready for the Spring....

I found one itinerary for our cruise on 4shared but I wanted to know if anyone requested anything else that they could share.

Do you have a store in VA?

I have requested a few things - one with our itinerary and a few others with the dates. I will share with you. PM me if you are still interested!

I have to admit that the table seating makes me nervous. I guess I didn't realize that we would possibly sit with other people. We have five in our party - three adults and two children (ages 9 & 7). I think it would rather link with someone here than wind up with complete strangers. What are the chances that they will sit us by ourselves? This is our first cruise and I don't know anything about the dining seating, etc... We have the second seating...
