Question: Is there a $$ minimum/limit for the FE gifts, or is it whatever we're comfortably with? I'm having trouble finding exact info from the FE threads. It actually makes me a little motion sick scrolling through all of the pages. It seems like the people talk and comment about alot of different things rather than giving specific info. For the people that have participated with FE's before, would you mind stating what some of the gifts were?:thumbsup2

Anything goes! :thumbsup2 It's whatever you want to do. No pressure. No worries. Just have fun with it. :) Some of the things we've enjoyed receiving are candy, Disney luggage tags, Chapstick, Disney post-it notes, and glow sticks (LOVE to get those because they also make great nightlights in the bathroom!!!). I also love a bracelet that someone made with inexpensive glass beads and little white beads that spelled "DCL" threaded on a stretchy piece of elastic. :lovestruc And, we've also received rubber bracelets with the cruise date imprinted on them several times. Once, we received Disney travel mugs that I still use every week! Some people get creative with ordinary things, like making special wrappers to put on candy bars or water bottles. Or, taking the time to stamp a little Mickey Mouse on the bottom corner of every page of post-it notes. Some people put together little baggies of items that will come in handy during the cruise (highlighters, a few bandaids, post-it notes, safety pins, etc.). Or, baggies of pirate-themed items for pirate night. The sky's the limit with all the possible options!

So true. The glowsticks make awesome backup night lights when you forget to pack one. I wear glasses and have bad night vision and a night light is my friend for this middle of the night wake ups or for the child sleeping up in the bunk.

Also, you'd be surprised what you forget to pack and then you find that some wonderful DISer has left that item for you in your extender!!

Guess what? :rolleyes1 I got Disney mail today - The 2011 Disney Cruise book! Yeah!! Read the book cover to cover, while sitting on the floor with our new puppy. He was taking a nap on me! :cutie:

What do you do if you are cruising first than staing in the area regarding a car? If we take a limo to the ship should we take a limo back to airport to rent a car or should do something else. how do people usually do that? Thank you for any suggestions. :flower3::surfweb: :surfweb:

We've never rented a car there, but I know you can rent one near the port. Here is what Shirley (A Perfect Gift) has to say from her very informative thread:

Car Rental
All agree that the cheapest option is to rent a car one-way from the airport, drive to the port, drop luggage/family off at port, drop rental car off and take rental car shuttle back to the port. Repeat in reverse for your post-cruise trip back to the airport. Hertz, Budget, Thrifty, Avis & Enterprise, all have drop off locations and free round trip shuttles very close to the port (companies are listed in order of closeness to the port). These four places are open on Sundays and their port shuttles start early in the morning until the afternoon.

Thank you so much . alot of very useful information, I will pass it on to other people in my party. :cheer2:

We rented a car from Budget. All the rental places are marked and come pick you up in a van/bus. They come very frequently and when we got to budget(just a few minutes away) they had 3 agents helping people so the time to get your car was very quick. We even got free upgrades without asking. The car only had 5,000 miles on it! Driving to Sea World, Disney World was very easy. I brought my gps from home but it is also very clearly marked.

Looks like "gradysmommy" is getting some good business on ebay! I'll be ordering my FE from her in a couple of months or so.

My FE is a Gradysmommy one, too. I bought some pillowcases from her for autographs which match. I've already added a little something to them to make them stand out, but I digress.

It will be fun seeing everybody's FEs when we make our rounds!

Have fun, Ness!

Ordered mine yesterday, as well as a pillowcase for my dd. I made my own FE a few years ago, but I love gradysmommy's...so got a new one for this cruise.

Cannot wait - very excited. Me, hubby, 15 yr old son and 13 yr old daughter. Room 9110 - does anyone know about the verandah on this room? Is it plexi or not? Thanks

Welcome

It looks like that cabin is mid-ship and should be a plexi verandah. I think it's the categories that end in D and E that are solid white walls. But you can call your TA or DCL to ask them if they know.

If that is a Category 4A, then yes, you will have a fabulous plexiglas verandah! :woohoo:

:welcome: gabby!!

We're glad to have you join us! I've added you to our roster. Let us know if you will participate in the Fish Extender Exchange. If so, Deb T. will add you to that list.

Hi, everyone! - We're 2nd time Disney Cruisers, first time 'Disney Meeters' - My family and I went on the Disney Wonder this past April and LOVED it. My niece (jeni37) and sister-in-law (lindafish) are on this cruise as well (hi, guys!) - is there anything in particular I need to do to join the group? We're also looking to get a fish extender for our kids for this trip - Is there anything we need to do to join that group as well? Or just get a fish extender and go? We saw all the FE's on our last trip and thought it was such a great idea!

I have read thru past posts as well - what an excellent forum to trade info!

Hi everyone! Wow this is a HUGE cruise!!!!

I am not doing the FE exchange this cruise, but I wanted to share with everyone looking for ideas what we did for our last cruise. I got little snack bags and filled it with a small 2x2 cardboard picture frame that I inserted a picture of the ship and the dates of our cruise into, then I also put little pirate finger puppets in there that I got from oriental trading along with a mini sharpie that hooks onto a lanyard. I placed a note into each bag to each recipient telling them to have a great cruise from me.

It was a big undertaking prior to departure, but it was so much fun to get all the gifts every day from everyone! Really worth it!

:cutie:

That's a great idea of a FE gift. I'm having fun trying to think of possible gifts, this is the first time that I will participate in a FE exchange.

Hey we're neighbors.
