Princessdaisy, don't feel bad. We are all jealous as we sit here in our freezing temperatures following yet another snowstorm. We all truly wish we were in California - except for all that rain you guys have been having! It is all over the news here. I hope it isn't too bad near where you are.

Ah, thanks! It is so crazy that we have had just 4 days of continuous rain here in Cali and it's all over the news like we are falling into the ocean or something! LOL! really it wasn't all that bad except for a few homes built off the cliffs near the beach that almost slipped down :earseek:

Hi! We just changed our cruise dates from 4/30 to the 4/16 cruise. We got a great Florida resident rate and we were flexible so we get to go 2 weeks earlier -

It will be myself - DH and DD13. She looks forward to meeting kids her age.

See ya on the cruise - :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Just wondering, how much of a discount is FL resident rate? (or maybe I don't want to know?? :confused3 ) If you don't want to post, PM me, I'm just curious.

Hi spoon2003! I don't mind sharing our Florida resident rate.

It is myself, DH and dd13. Our originial rate for the 4/30 cruise was 3642.85 - cat. 7. - I made this reservation Oct. 2004 Our new rate for the 4/16 cruise using the FRR is $2944.39 and is for cat. 6 there were no cat. 7 available with this rate. PLUS you get the Costco discount on top of the FRR and our total now is $2706.39 -

I was soooooooo happy - and it works out better for my daughter's school work - what a plus!!!

It pays to keep your eyes open for those FRR. Hope this helps!

Welcome aboard!! That is a great rate!! :cool1: We are thinking of moving to Tampa, Fl. area in a few years since the prices here in San Diego, Ca are so high! Our little 1500 sqft home is now worth 630,000. We looked at homes in Florida last year and could get a Huge place for that much! LOL! plus those Fl res. perks :sunny:

Looking forward to our cruise! we have a dd who will be turning 13 on Castaway Cay day. Can't wait to meet all our "Dis" friends

It was actually offered twice on the Western Carribean Cruise last July but I was only able to make one of them. I think they did one between Key West and Cozumel and one between Grand Cayman and CC but I really can't rremember. I know they were at sea days and one on each end of the week. I had a good time and tasted some very good Beer. I am assuming that they will also have them on this cruise but I have been caught by that assuming thing before...

I am up for that beer tasting as a meet, if anyone else is. Nice to see so many Sox and Pats fans are going to be on board. I hear what you mean about all the snow, after this winter I can't wait to get away !!!!

I made parasailing reservations for dd and myself for Castaway Cay day yesteday. All the early slots were full so we ended up with 2:30. Now that I think about it though that might be a better time, and a good way to end the day,and we'll still have have some time to shop also before we have to get back on the ship. Anyone else going to try parasailing?

Toni

I did CC parasailing with DD in Nov 03, it was a great experience. This time I want to do it with DS but can't cuz he's only 7 :sad2: DD11 and I will do the Eco tour on CC this time.

Will they not allow your DS to parasail? Last August, I went parasailing with my DD (who was 5 at the time) at the Contemporary Resort. Are there age restrictions on Castaway Cay?

Yes, CC Parasailing is for age 8 and up. I inquired (DS is size of 8 year old) but was told "no". I'm going to try to do a "walk in" at St. Thomas with Carribean WAter Sports.

Hi, I just found this thread. We are going on the eastern April 16 also. I haven't had time to read more than the first and last pages but hopefully will get caught up soon. I am new to the dis boards so some of my quesitons may be old had for you guys but please don't hold that against me.
This is our second cruise - did 4 day in 2002 on Wonder - I didn't know about the boards then. I think my husband did - I think he has been reading for years but I don't know if he posts much - I actually haven't ever looked up posts by his name.
Ok - now for the first question
Is there somewhere on the boat where dis board people meet and chat at some point during the trip? I would like info on that if there is. :cheer2:
Thanks, Sandy

RealMickeysGirl,

Yes, we are tentatively planning to meet on Sunday around 2ish - then some members of the group are heading off to tea at Palos, and I think some are headed off to their own beer tasting!!! :rotfl2: If you send me a PM with your firstnames, your screen name and your Hometown & State, I am making name tags for everyone.

More details to follow... but I was thinking we may just want to get together near the pool. Do you have any kids travelling with you? A lot of us do, so I suspect they will be on the Mickey slide!

Can't wait to meet you!

I PM'd you with our info. This is going to be fun. :cheer2:
Thanks, Sandy

Hi Gang,

I was just browsing the Navigators for Disney Eastern Cruise and at 2:00 on Sunday (day/time of tentative Dis meet) there will be a "Fun in the Sun" celebration at the Goofy pool & also the "Art of Entertaining" with a fruit carving & cocktail demo will also be held at 2:00 (at a diff. location/not the pool area).

Just thought I would mention...in case someone was interested in those activities. I think we would be okay by the Mickey pool...since most of the crowds will be by the goofy pool for the music and dancing "Fun in the Sun" thingy.

 Looking forward to meeting everyone!!
