April 16 2005? Eastern Magic? 4/16/05

I don't have a crafty bone in my body, so no door sign for us

In St. Thomas, we're going to do our own Coral World and Coki Beach, that way I won't have to worry about getting off the ship late. I think there' is Carribean water sports near Coki Beach, if winds good and timing is right, I may do Parasailing with my DS7. I don't want to pre-book parasail for fear of wind condition, If it's windy, I don't want to go up with him. I plan to spend the morning there, then come back to port to do the Paradise tram, back to ship to drop kids off to clubs and DH & I go shopping!!! :Pinkbounc

W thought about doing Coki Beach, but I read on the St. Thomas message boards that it can get really crowded when the cruise ships are in and that its not all that clean. But we were interested because the water is supposed to be very clear, so clear that you can see the fish without snorkling....if you have something to feed them with. Of course right now we're thinking of Magen's Bay, but still keeping Coki Beach in mind. I keep checking out the message boards for posts on both beachs, hoping, I guess, that Coki Beach will have more good reviews. We won't be snorkling, mostly just hanging out on the beach, and I'd like to do it in the prettiest spot possible. :goodvibes

Is anyone planning to make a magnetic door sign for their stateroom door? I scrapbook so I've been planning some out in my head, but haven't hit on the final product yet. I'll probably end up changing my mind a dozen times before I finally settle on something.

I'm a scrapper too. I was thinking about doing a door sign. My daughter turns six on the 16th and I am going to do a birthday sign. I haven't given it any thought yet, other than Happy Birthday. :bday:

I am thinking of making some signs (though, I never tried making them before) and probably printing some of my dd's favorite pictures of her pets on magnetic paper and using those to decorate the door too.

CTFamilycruisers: A Dismeet would be fun! Thanks for offering to put it together :earsboy: that would be great!

:wizard: :wizard:

Wow!!! I can't believe how fortunate we are to have someone volunteer so early to set up a meet!! Thanks alot CTFamilyCruisers, we are looking forward to meeting everyone!! :wave2:

I'm concerned about transportation since I have severe allergies. I think I read somewhere that the taxis are larger vehicles, open to the air. Even a short drive, with the wind hitting me in the face, could cause me to get sick. Has anyone been to St. Thomas that could give me any info?

We were on St. Thomas last year and have been there many other times too. Some of the taxis are the open air type but many more are enclosed vans with a/c. There are tons of taxis. Just wait for one that is to your liking. The driver will probably even offer to come back and pick you up at your drop off point.

Thanks. That relieves my mind. I don't want to spend the second half of the cruise sick and now I don't have to worry so much about it.

Does anyone know how many cruise ships at port will make it unbearablely crowded? According to the ship docking site, there will be 4 ships docking on St. THomas (including Magic), of course ideally we would like to be the only one, but does 4 shiploads of people make it unbearable?

So far the Magic is the only one docking at St. Maarten on the day we're there, let's hope it stays that way.

Which website were you looking at? The one I have for St. Thomas doesn't have the April schedule up yet.

I'm like you. Lets keep our fingers crossed that we're the only ones docking at St. Maarten that day.

Okay, now I am wondering exactly what I have volunteered to do!!! Actually, I'm a genetically inclined planner and coordinator - so I am happy to do this. Just curious when people want to get together. This is my 1st Disney cruise, second cruise ever, so I welcome your input. Does 1st day before the safety drill make sense? Will everyone be there by 3 or so? Or is Sunday better? Might be nice to do it before the Palos Tea a few have decided to attend. What do you think?

As coordinator of the Dis meet you would need to draw up charts with everyone's name/or e-mail, print up some welcome to the cruise type brochures, make each person a button with name/family name, help everyone get Ressies for Palo.....

I hope u guessed I am just kidding!!!
:rotfl2: ;)

No, really, just helping us all to figure out a place to meet is pretty much all that would be required :teeth: heh!heh! I put in my vote for right before our Tea time on Sunday (Tea at 3:00)...on my last Disney cruise, we had a Dis meet on the first day but not too many showed as there is so much to do/get ready for on the first day...whew, just thinking about it is making me tired but happy

Thanks again!!! :wizard:

Before Tea sounds good to me. I think the first day would be too difficult. I so can't wait. :cool1:

I don't have the link here at work, but I think it's the same one you're looking at. the program has a small bug where you have to put in the period for st. thomas whereas st. maarten didn't need the period.

Ok, I'll check it out again. Thanks.

I was checking out DCL's website and it looks like there is still a lot of vacancy on our cruise. They have cabins in all categories other than 7 & 8 available. (Those of you in those categories may get upgrades!!!!) :flower:

I also noted that the early dinner option is available again. I guess some people must have cancelled as deposits came due. If anyone wants to make changes, now may be a good time to do it.

A DISmeet on Sunday before tea sounds good to me. I saw another thread had cool nametags which I would be happy to print up and bring with me. I'll see if I can post it here - so far I have had no success - they are really cute!

Here are the nametags I was talking about. I hope they come through clearly enough for you to see - but it includes your DIS Username, your real name, Hometown & State and at the bottom it reads "Disney Magic - April 16 - 23, 2005"

If you send me a PM with your info, I'll be glad to put these together.

Thanks to another DIS member for the idea! I am not this creative!

How can you tell on the DCL website that the early seating is available? Please let me know. Thanks!
