April 14, 2007 Eastern Cruise!

If anyone is having trouble finding sea sickness stuff...the Walgreens in Cocoa has a HUGE supply of everything you could ever want. It is right down the road from the Port.

Yogibigdog you said that you got changed to the main seating did you call to see or was the site updated? We have been waitlisted for late seating and are hoping to get it changed to the early seating...

Have a safe trip...only 5 days to magic...

I called DCL. I have done that in the past I don't wait to see if the waitlist comes through.

Have a safe trip.

After a year of planning this vacation I have no words other than
I am praying our flight leaves on time Thursday morning from Manchester, NH I'm starting to freak since the weather forecast keeps changing.

Let's Talk - I will keep my fingers crossed. I know on the 3/17 cruise that over 100 people didn't make it because of weather in NE - I hope this won't happen again.

BTW - I love your area of the country. New Hampshire is one of my favorites

You and me both. We fly out of Portland Friday morning. The storm is supposed to be over by then, but the plane we leave on comes in Thursday night. We figure if all else fails we can make Port Canaveral in 24 hours driving. OMG I can't believe this stupid weather!!!!!

I found the kids bonine at CVS, now hopefully I can get the chance to use it.

We are driving down(could not get flights due to late booking!) did not anticipate snow...we are taking the big van(most comfortable to ride in...but a gas guzzler). I DO NOT want to drive in the snow!!!!! We plan to leave at 3:00 Thursday afternoon!!!! I still have a gazillion things to do......pack, finish taxes, laundry and make my door sign!

We are so excited!

Have a safe drive down. The storm is changing more to rain by the hour it seems. Don't forget those takes! I have a lot to do still. Have to run out now and get my errands done.

See you on board!

Greetings from the Nickleodean Hotel!

We've actually had a decent 2 days in the parks. Wilderness lodge Villas for one night was way too short. I loved that place!

Parks were not that bad. I thought it would be way worse, but we have a GAC however I thought that even the fastpass lanes would be awful but their actually faster when the parks are fuller.

Flyinging out of Providence was wonderful. I may never go back to logon. Southwest was like Jetblue without the TVs and we brought our laptop.

The only downside was that I lost my glasses in the rental car!

See you guys tomorrow at the port! Safe journeys!

Arrived yesterday evening after a smooth, uneventful flight from the West Coast. Today we went to the Kennedy Space Center. DH and I enjoyed ourselves and probably could've stayed there longer, but DD6 and DS4 were not as interested as we were, LOL! Oh well...maybe they'll be more interested on our next Disney Cruise when they're a little older.

DH just watched the Weather Channel and it looks like a storm is heading for Florida Saturday. Good thing we're here now because the storm is currently over Dallas/Ft. Worth, which was one of the stops on our flight yesterday.

Crossing my fingers and hoping everyone makes it on the boat tomorrow!

We're here!

Well, it's actually Thur and I figured I'd check out this internet thing.
Please stop the ship from rocking, my DW and DMIL are getting sick.
I seem to be fine.

Were in 8518.

Drop us some fish mail...

Hello All!
I hope everyone enjoyed our magical cruise! I am so sorry I was not able to attend the meet. We ran into some issues with our stateroom bookings, my MIL was not satisfied with her room and we therefore had to do some shifting around. But all turned out well!

Is anyone planning on doing a Trip Report?

We also missed the dis meet as we couldn't get our kids out of the mickey pool...we had a great time even though the rockiness made my DW a little sick...but no lunch was lost...also one of my twins fell on Deck 9 under the jumbotron during the High School Musical when the boat was rocking on Thursday..the stage was wet from the ice carving and they were up there with a new friend dancing and doing cartwheels when the boat dipped she fell split her chin open and had an escort by the disney cruise people down to the infirmary for three stiches...I may try to do a trip report....how about friday night we were up (just me and the DW) from 2 in the morning to 2:30 with the boat hitting the waves and wind...it sounded like the boat was going over...

hope everyone had a great time....

We had a great time as well. the boat was really rocking friday night. We forgot to shut one of our bathrooom doors, and I woke up to it slamming. It was quite the roller coaster. It was great meeting some of you. We had a fabulous time and we are saving our money to do it again.

I had never snorkeled before we got to Castaway Cay, but I will tell you it was one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks to everyone for all of the great memories.

Did we get lucky with the weather or what?

I don't know if any of you were able to go walking along the Serenity Bay beach, but mother and I strolled along the far end for a while and saw some amazing sea life right along the beach...it was truly amazing. First I found a starfish...then some kind of eel....but then we saw the most bizarre thing, it was kind of like a slug on one end and had these big gill things opening and closing on the other end, probably about a foot long. We stared at this thing for the longest time trying to figure out what the heck it was. As luck would have it, the lady from Animal Kingdom (Dr. Anne Savage) that had been giving those discussions on board in the Buena Vista theater was just over from our chairs! So, I went and asked if they knew what it was...I found out it was a Nudibranch. Never heard of it before, but it was REALLY interesting.

We got back Sunday. I was late to the Dis meet by the time I got there mostly everyone had gone. I did get to meet Pershing.

I did me Let's talk Disney in the terminal and I saw her though out the cruise. She was even in line with me for the Budget shuttle and I saw her again at the MCO Hyatt.

If anyone saw the Remember the Magic show in the Walt Disney Theatre (2nd show)it was "Let's Talk Disney's" son who got picked to be the puppet. It was so funny:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: he did a wonderful job.

That was our fourth cruise and by far the smoothest. The waves we hit Friday night coming back into port was typical of what we experienced on our previous cruises.

I wish we all had a chance to get together.
I did rebook onboard for next April 19 this time it is a western.

DD, DS and I stopped by for a few minutes at the DISBoard meet. It was really neat seeing a bunch of lime green shirts! I hope all of you had as wonderful a time on the cruise as we did. We can't wait to go back again. Now I know why so many families cruise with DCL over and over again. As we were waiting for the "Disney Dreams" show, we met a family that was on their sixth cruise! WOW! :thumbsup2

We're scheduled to do the "Mexican Riviera" cruise next summer. While we won't be able to visit Castaway Cay, we wanted to take advantage of not having to fly to meet the Magic since we're from SoCal. We can't wait! :cool1:

That last night was an interesting one, though. I felt like I was on a roller coaster, especially since our stateroom was in the Forward Section. Thank goodness our two kids didn't have a problem with being seasick.

Did any of you still feel like you were on the boat after you got off? We were at the airport waiting for our flight and I still felt like I was rocking from side to side, LOL!

Take care everyone!

LOL....I can still remember grabbing some Burger King at the airport before heading out and feeling like the entire building was rocking from side to side. We were on Deck seven all the way in the back of the ship and we were really moving Friday night.

Getting back to reality this week stinks. To think, a week ago we had a great day in St. Thomas. :sad1:

It was nice to meet you all :grouphug: and hope to sail with everyone again.

Yogibigdog: It was great running into you on the ship, St. Martin, at the Port and the Hyatt.

As far as the rock-n-rolling of the ship Friday night...we were on Deck 2 (middle) thankfully BUT the waves were so big that they were practically crashing onto our porthole  :scared1:  Needless to say, I couldn't sleep a wink that night laying there trying to remember what muster station to run to if need be.

We had a fantastic vacation and are very sad that it is now over.

I hope to chat with you all again soon. :surfweb:

I wanted to say it was great to meet you all. I wish we'd had a second get together on Thursday to talk about how the cruise was going for everybody. I was curious how it turned out for some other people with excursions and what not.

We never ended up on St. John like we planned because of a late start but had a wonderful beach day at Sapphire Bay. Somebody on this thread recommended it I think and I want to thank that person. Def. was a highlight.

So did anyone else get to see Adam Viniateri on our cruise? We had to be told who he was by other people because we are not football fans but my sons were making their friends envious on Monday by saying they stood in line behind him.

Yogibigdog I got a survey from Country Inns emailed to me after I got home and was able to say how disappointed I was about our night there! I wonder if I'll hear back from them about that.

I was so tired from packing on Friday, I slept deeply and didn't hear anything or feel anything.

Let's Talk Disney Your cabin was pretty close to mine! Could you hear the engines every night? I loved the porthole and the aft location was so convenient but the shifting noices of the engines. Oiy!

I'll probably do a trip thread like I always do-titled for single mom's and in bullet form rather than story form. Emphasizing tips and new things I did and learned about rather than all the details. I know when I'm reading other peoples trip reports that's what I'm looking for-the recommendations and tips!

Really love the Eastern Cruise more than the Western! Those days at Sea set you up to be really relaxed!
