I've been gone to my conference for days (and days and days, it seems!) so I've gotten behind and have just caught up on four pages of posts. You've all been busy!

I noticed I finally got "Mouseketeer" in my handle! Yea! Being from the original Mickey Mouse Club era, becoming a Mouseketeer is very important to me! :yay:

Anyway, Utah had great weather for my conference last week, but we're back to blustery and cold now. We are supposed to get up to the fifties by the weekend.

We also got attacked by Girl Scout cookies, so that, combined with conference food, has me still stalled on the weight front. Something's gotta give--- and soon!!

Three of our group were on the cancelled 5-star excursion. We were FINALLY able to reschedule them for other stuff.

I sent Disney a "comment" about how difficult their website can be. (It kept saying "error" when we tried to reschedule our niece.) I got back a nice "your e-mail is important to us" reply. Whatever! :sad2:

Last comment for now.

I love the thread site that Kat posted -- bottom of page 43 -- about rules for the kids. There are some great ideas for teaching our kids to be a little more aware of being polite in large groups. I recommend it to all!

OK -- one more post!

My one DSis-I-L wants to know what kinds of life preserver equipment may be available for her 6-year-old both on and off the ship.

I know that, if you do a snorkel excursion, you get a life vest. But are there rentals on the beaches? Are there rentals on board? Can you take an onboard rental to the beaches?

the ones on ship are very bulky and not the thing a kid would want to have on at all...At CC they have the vests and my granddaughter (4) at the time did not have a problem with it snorkeling. It is flater and very easy to wear. You rent it for all day. There is nothing for the ship. I would suggest bringing flotties ( the arm things) or a swim suit with removable float inserts. That's what my grandkids used. If you are renting snorkeling equipment for the tours then you should get the vests with all the other stuff.

Over the weekend I started cleaning my house I usually do this around now but I am more motivated this year to come home to a really clean house. I cant wait another second. I started to pack too! I just read somewhere that a person was leaving in 10 hours and needed the packing list! wow I would/could never wait to pack. I was really excited about my weight loss until I went shopping for a bathing suit and shorts. Can I get a tummy tuck and lipo on my knees before we go? I will have to break down and get them I think I just have to do it without a mirror.:)
All of your posts make me just a bit sad that we will be traveling without kids. I remember how much ours loved our last cruise. Maybe one day our kids will take the old Grammy and Papa along on a cruise.
Back to packing and cleaning.

Yes, the teens are finally warmin up. I can see them all standing in their cyber corner trying not to look un-cool (they don't say that now--do they?). They'll get there. That is why the email before hand is so nice. It makes the weird time on board shorter.

I am enjoying the warmer weather. With lightening last night, I think we are finally heading into spring. My daily walks can now start up again. It helps me and it helps get the energy out of my dogs. They love it.

I will start packing after Easter since we have both sides of the family here. After that I will lay out suitcases in the living room and start packing.

DH (pecosbill) is a last minute packer. We leave Friday night and he will probably start packing Friday morning. Looks like he is going to Orlando for a busniess the Sunday before the cruise and fly home Wed night. Just enough time to pack and fly back.

If it wasn't for missing school I would take the kids and go with him on Sunday, but it is too much school for Tommy to miss. We are going to stay until the Monday after the cruise, so they will only miss one day.

The 9/10 year old emails have been coming along nicely. Kayla is very excited to hear from everyone and see the pictures. Amazing how similar their interest are.

I am also a last minute packer. I have tried packing early, but then I competely forget what is in the bags and what isn't. My mom and dad meet us at Universal on Wed before and usually brings me up some laundry soap and other stuff. Saves me shopping. I do laundry the first full day on the ship. Hardly anyone there and we have already been vacationing for 5 days at that point.

Does anyone have a really nice rolling carr-on bag that they can recommend? I always end up carrying my purse and another big bag but it always gets so darn heavy that I can't stand to carry it around so I am looking for a rolling carry-on.

Both my boys (9th and 10th grades) made the high school JV soccer team this year and their first game is in about an hour. The temperature is 38 degrees with a very strong wind, so I'm guessing the wind chill is way down in the teens, or maybe the twenties if we're lucky. So, if you see me sniffling on the cruise you'll know why!

I'm so tired of the cold!!!!!!!!

I will meet you there! That was my plan as well!

We got lucky and they scheduled an extra day for spring break this year so we are leaving after school on Wed and they will only miss Thursday. Plus it is the first week of the last quarter, so should not be anything major that Will is going to miss.

Just wanted to make sure that we are meeting at 1:00 at the Seals? Are husbands going too? My husband wants to make sure so he isn't the only one!!!!:)

As far as I know, my dh is going as well.

The only time I have heard is 1 pm at the seals---so I will be there then.
