Thank you for the welcome, I am from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Wow, it will be busy in St. Thomas!

I just booked the April 12 cruise this morning :) I am so very excited. I am going with my Mom. We usually do WDW every two years so this will be a first.

Has anyone booked a meet for this trip yet?

Lynda,

Welcome to the thread!! You are very lucky to be traveling with your mom! I would love to do a mother/daughter cruise one day but I don't think my husband or my son would like that one bit! Our entire family loves Disney so how could I do that to them?? :lmao:

We have not officially set a time or day for the meet but I'm sure we'll get some opinions on that very soon.

As far as docking in St. Thomas...last night I was on the DCL website while chatting with DS (who was there 2x this year) about shore excursions. It said that the boat will be anchored in the harbor on April 16.

If the ship is anchored and passengers are tendered in how does that work? How many people are tendered at a time? Are you able to get on/off the ship throughout the day or only at specific times? Just curious as it may effect what we do that day.

Well that stinks. I hate tendering although it is a good chance to get some great pictures of the Magic.

Tendering at any island usually works like a water taxi. They often have multiple boats running and you just take the next one. Rarely a long wait.

The only thing---if the seas are too choppy---the tenders may not run. We had one time where we anchored in Grand Cayman I believe and the tenders were delayed by a few hours until the seas calmed down. They don't want people getting hurt transferring to the tender.

Hi All, I have a TON of questions about clothes for kids. I started a thread on the main Cruise Forum about what kids should wear to dinner, and would love replies from any of you with advice...

I am really trying to figure out what Childrens clothes/shoes I need to shop for and what I already have that will work.

TIA! :yay:

That is a question you can get pretty much any answer too. What do you want to do? You can go as crazy as you want or you can pack a few pair of capris or khakis and a few shirts and do laundry. It is really up to you.

I had them wear a shirt to dinner and then it was their shirt for the next day of activities. Then a new shirt for that nights dinner. Who cared a the pool if last night's dinner ended up a little on the shirt.

I would suggest bringing 2 or 3 swimsuits. That way one is drying while one is being worn.

I bought some cute dresses for my dd 10 for dinner time. She doesn't usually wear dresses to school so this was kind of a treat for her to feel fancy and dressed up to go to dinner. During the day she is planning just to wear shorts/skort and t-shirts/tank tops.

I shopped at JC Penney yesterday-they were having a great sale on dressy dresses and casual dresses.

HOW dressy are you dressing your kids for semi-formal night? I plan to bring DD's xmas dress for formal night, but will a cotton easter dress be good enough for semi formal night?

Do you all bring dress shoes for your sons. I hate the idea of bringing a pair of shoes for him to wear a total of 6 hours. I feel like bringing a pair of black shoe covers from his Halloween costume to put over his white tennis shoes (or maybe some of these

You can get as many things autographed as you want. I don't think that one item per person is too much.

I am suprised that no one has declared today's holiday!

I am so ready to start packing! And I know I am driving people nuts because I keep talking about the cruise!

Luckily we have a niece that is 2 years older than my daughter so we get her clothes when she grows out of them. They are all really nice and probably rarely worn, but we also get some nice dresses too. So my daughter picked out 2 dresses that she wants to bring. Both are light velvet, and simple. One has short sleeves and one has a mock jacket over it with sparkles. My daughter hates wearing dresses, but since she picked these at least she will wear them. Now I just have to buy her a pair of dressy sandals. Of course, it she is anything like the last cruise, she'll end up staying in the kid's club, we couldn't drag her out of there!!
For the baby I was looking on ebay for a cute tuxedo for formal night, but I decided that it would be a waste of money for a few hours, so we have a vest type suit someone gave us, and I will just buy a different shirt that matches so he has one outfit for formal and one for semi-formal.

Now, if the next two months would hurry up and pass I'll be all set! :rolleyes1

I ordered a long formal black dress with a a sash that is fushia for my DD10 for formal night and for semi formal night she has a shorter dressy dress that is light pink with a little bit of black lace overlay at the top. My DS13 will wear a suit for formal night and then probably the pants, another shirt and tie for semi formal and skip the jacket the second night.

My DS has a pair of black loafer dress shoes that I bought last summer, that hopefully will still fit in April that he will wear to dinner those two nights. And he will probably wear a different more casual shoe other nights.

I still have to shop for shoes for DD. The problem is that she wears a womens size 7 1/2 and most of the dressy shoes are to old for her. I will have to find something that is flat or very low that looks dressy enough for her dresses.

During the day they will either wear bathing suits with tshirts (ds) and a coverup (dd) or shorts and tshirts.

My problem is that my guys wear the same size shoes - which happens to be the same size my dh wears - so lately they have been wearing his shoes for concerts, etc... but I don't think the 3 of them could share one pair of shoes for the cruise! LOL

My dh has to get a sport coat for the cruise, we won't be doing really formal. The boys will be wearing dress shirts, dark pants and ties.
I have some things, I will do a dress up in March and then see what I need.

I was out looking online for pirate garb last night... Just have to see if the boys will wear it!

Same here for the pirate gear. My dd10 wants a costume, but I'm not sure if ds13 will wear one. Maybe a pirate shirts and the bandana and eye patch that I think they give out on the boat. Probably the same for DH. So I haven't decided yet.
