April 12, 2008, 4-12-08, 4/12/08 Eastern Magic

I am not good at figuring out the day marks. I know this is a leap year. You can pre-arrange your "wish list" which may make it easier.

Ok--I had a dream last night that we were on the cruise and we managed to forget that we had Palo reservations and went to eat at the rotation dining instead. I have no clue where all that came from. LOL!

It would be fun to have some of us on the regatta.

Here's a great website for you for day calculation:

calendarhome dot com ... there is a small link for figuring the number of days between two dates - it's on the left, towards the bottom ... it's a very useful site!!!

kat

I don't think they allow links in the postings. You may be able to pm her with it.

Deb

90 days out is 1/13/08 and the 75 days out is 1/28/08.

Sorry about the picture. I see it on my computer and I'm not sure how to fix that.

This was posted on the main boards ... it's the schedule for the Eastern that includes what shows are on what day, etc ... thought it might be useful to repost over here for us!!

Whoa! I’ve been out of touch for a while and you people have been zooming along!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the 12th – three months!!!! (Actually, it is already tomorrow for all you east-coasters. I’m in Utah and it is 10:02.)

To CVPSYCH – we have visited Kennedy Space Center a couple of times and absolutely love it, but then we do like things like that, so it may or may not interest your crew. We also visited the Houston Space Center when we took our boys on a different cruise line in fall of ’06.

I have a friend who loves the jewelry from St. Thomas, but I’m more interested in the Belgian chocolates she told me about in St. Maarten! Has anyone else every indulged?

To: TaraMom22 -- RE: Pirate costumes. We gave all 36 of our group eye patches that we got from the Oriental Trading Company – very cheap and you can order online. Another SIL may be working on another bit of costuming, like a vest or soemthing, but if you’re in a pinch for something the eye patches are good!

Can't wait! Thanks again for all of your input.

Bev (I don't think I've given my name before.)

I have a tipping question. Tips are per person, but what about infants? One of my nieces has two babies -- 2 years and 8 months a the time of the cruise. Do you think she should tip the same amount per person for the babies as she does for herself and her hubby? They didn't have to pay anything for the babies to come on the cruise and be in their stateroom, but I'm sure the servers will do some little extras here and there for them. Has anyone ever had this experience before, and what did you do?

Bev

I would say to tip for them---maybe combine them as one person per the quote. I imagine the clean up in the room will be more due to infants----more trash, cribs, etc. The servers will probably have the high chair all ready for the kids when they get there and coloring supplies for the 2 year old. They may also perform tricks to help entertain the kids.

Plan for more and then see what happens.

Well, the 90 day mark is today and there's some good and some bad.

Palo was WIDE open ... no issues there. It's our first time so hopefully it will be worth it.

Parasailing ... NO GO. There are no reservations left for the day. I had NO idea it would go that fast, otherwise i would have gotten on the computer at 12:01 and booked them ... especially since last year, we booked at 75 days out and had no problems. This is a big disappointment for sure, but I guess I will keep checking back.

We booked our couples massage ... registered Gabi for the kids club ... so now we just wait!

I don't think they release all the spots immediately. I know with the spa and such, they hold some back. Keep checking and check once onboard. Also, you can put your name on a list once you get onboard.

I can tell you that is the one thing on the island that seems to cancel often. It doesn't take much wind to get it cancelled.

Also, check back right before or when the next ressie round is booked. They may release more then. Also Also, the 3 day before sailing mark when things become non-refundable--check then.

Deb

Ok, after staying up way past my bedtime, I still was not able to book anything online. I was worried that my ressies made through DVC had something wrong and knew I couldn't contact member services until tomorrow. I took my chances and called Disney Cruiseline and the reservationist found out the problem, DVC did not register us return cruisers and only they, DVC, are allowed to "touch" our ressies.:scared1:
Thankfully,:woohoo: Tinkerbelle was spreading her pixie dust, the supervisor was able to correct our ressies:worship: and all was made well.
Went online and now booked for Palo's dinner and brunch; spa times on ship and cabana massage and regatta:yay: :yay: :yay:
Now, that all that is done, it is time for serious exercising.

See ya soon! Kim

Hello everyone,

We have been promising our granddaughter this cruise for the past 5 years and finally we are taking her on this date. She wanted to be aboard the Disney Cruise for her birthday which is on the 17th, when she will turn 12. Her first cruise ever our third on Disney. Hope there are some girls her age, she is so excited and counting down. We are flying from Vancouver so will probably fly on the 11th and stay overnight at the airport.

Hi, TrishV! And Welcome! I love this disboard site. The people here are so helpful -- I can't wait to meet them in real life!

In case you haven't seen yet, there is a great list on about page 20 of this board showing all the kids from the current "boarders." And that's only about 18 families so far, so you can bet there will be even more the same age as your granddaughter.

Our next problem is trying to figure out seating arrangements for dinners for our group of 36. The younger kids need to be with their parents, but some of the older ones can probably do a table of 8 on their own. So many details!

Bev

Hi Everyone! Time is getting closer.:dance3: I just made my final payment! I am ready to go! I have been making lists after lists of all the great information that I find on these boards! I keep a stack with 'Post It' notes right next to my computer. Thank you everyone!:thumbsup2

TrishV-My DD's(Hannah) birthday is on the 18th, she will be 12 also! So your GD will have a birthday mate!:cheer2: We are flying in from Phoenix on the 11th and staying at the Radisson. Can't wait to put faces to names!

Karen

For those celebrating birthdays onboard, go to the guest service desk in the am and tell them your daughters/granddaughters are having a birthday. You will get a birthday pin (not a trading pin--but the old fashion pins). They wear it all day and all the crew wish them a happy birthday.
