April 12, 2007 anyone?????

wow, I was started to think we would be the only Dis family having fun. We have kind of a large group going. We were able to convince some family/friends to join us. It will be me(32), dh (34), dd (4) and dd(7). It is a surprise trip for the girls. We were able to get a set of fairy godparents, fairy god-grandparents, and some bestfriends with a new baby to join in our surprise trip. Tell me about your crew. Do you want to plan a meet?

me (46) - dh (50) - ds(15) - ds (12) - I hope I get all these abreviations right, half the time I can't figure out what people on this board are saying! We are travelling with another family with 2 kids - a girl 15 and a boy 13 - it's the first Disney Cruise for all of us and then we're going to POR for 8 days after the cruise. 4 weeks and counting - I can't wait :)

we have 24 days before we leave. I have a confession. I have already packed half the kids' clothes. :jumping2: I am a little excited. This is dh and my second trip. This is the girls first cruise. My oldest turns 7 during the trip. We will celebrate during dinner the first night. Are your kids as excited as you are?

no, they are more excited about Disney World as the love going there each April. I am dragging them all (including DH) on the cruise but am sure they will have a great time once they get on and see all there is to do.

My DS(13) finally talked me into the cruise... Usually, we visit the parks every April during Spring Break for 9 or 10 days. Dad loves to stay home with the dog.

This year Animal Kingdom 4/7 - 4/12 and cruise 4/12-4/15. My only fear is that the cruise is mostly geared toward the little ones. My DS is thirteen and 6'1". Will he be bored?

I don't think so. They have a club for his age group. If you sign up for the excursions that should keep him happy. All age groups loved the shows. The pools are nice. We loved Disney's private island. I hope to see you on board. I will attach a green diser tag to my bag.

From everything I read on these threads I don't think our boys can possibly be bored. If your son is 6'1" I assume he may like basketball - the 3 boys traveling in my group are planning on spending most of their time at the court up on the top deck. Plus it just sounds like there is lots of other things for them to do. We fly out next Wed and I can't wait - they are predicting snow up here tonite :goodvibes

Today it is 80 degrees. Thursday it is suppose to rain and drop to lower 50's and upper 40's. We leave on Friday. I can't wait to wave bye bye to the cold and unpredictable weather and head for sunny Florida and Bahamas.

Wow,Toy - you get to leave Friday - lucky you! - So are you going to the World first and then the cruise or are you spending some time somewhere else in FL? We're doing the cruise first, then going to the World. The news tonite up here in Vermont said Winter Storm warning for 3-8 inches of snow tomorrow. I don't think this winter will ever end (at least until I get to the Bahamas!)

OMG 3-8 inches  That is crazy. We didn't get as much snow this year but we definately got the cold. They are calling for flurries in the mountains (that means me) Friday and Saturday. We are leaving just in time.

We are going to the World first. My oldest turns 7 the day before the cruise. We are going to have several celebrations. We have lunch plans in the castle on Monday and family party planned at 1900 Park Fare on Wednesday night. We will then meet up with other family and friends on board and have cake for dinner on Thursday night. I wonder if I can convince them to let Mickey bring her cake to her on board. She would be thrilled to the core. I have been secretly wrapping presents while she watched tv in the next room. This is the ultimate birthday. I wish I was this spoiled. :goodvibes

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to meeting!

I just found out that you need to make reservations before boarding...:confused3 ...and of course everything is booked up. I should have read the boards right after I booked.:scared1:

Funny, We have been to Disneyland 50+ times and on several WDW vacations and always secure the priority seating, we just dropped the ball on the cruise. Any suggestions for securing a reservation for dinner at Palo so late in the game?

BTW - my DS13 is relieved to hear that there will be other guys his age on the cruise!:yay:

Get there early and let them know you want to book a reservation for Palo. They will direct you to the right place. See ya on board.
