Hi,
Me, my husband and 12 year old daughter will be on the Easter cruise as well.
Can't wait! Just found this board and am getting even more excited. Was up till 2am reading all the posts! Still haven't gotten documents yet, but have a room number, so I guess we're good to go. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Guess I'll have to post a few more times before I can be added to the roll call.

Thanks for the greetings - yes, I think this site is great. Have been going to Disney on a regular basis (at least once a year) for the past 10 years and read Mousesavers and ALL Ears, but somehow missed this site. Talk about your hidden mickeys! BTW, we're also from NJ.

Big Willie - my daughter will be happy to hear about other kids in the Ocean Quest group. I didn't even know about this until I read this site - thought there was only the Oceaneers Club and Lab and that she would participate in the lab. From the Disney Cruise website it seems that the lab is still for her age group, but that the Ocean Quest room is a "come as you please" option for the tween ages. Have you had any experience with how this works? Would love to hear a first hand account. Thanks.

Glad to have another "Jersey Girl" around! My DS is 11 - 6th grade - He spent his entire time in the Ocean Quest room last year! He never even made it into the Oceaneers Club/Lab - I tried to convince him that there might be some really fun things to do in there and that he should give it a try this time around - he said he might! The Quest has a ton of video games, great counselors, lots of activities and a 'simulator' (which he LOVED!). We gave him 'sign-out' rights so that he could bounce back and forth between the clubs and the pool as he'd like - I didn't realize just how much he really got around until we stopped in Shutters and saw his pictures with a very wide variety of characters (that I hadn't seen!!)... BTW- the beeper system worked great for us...

Hi all...

With all this talk about clothing for Formal Night, my question is: what do people wear on the Semi-Formal night? I found a beautiful Calvin Klein cocktail length dress at my local Nordstrom Rack which I will wear for formal night and my DS will be wearing a suit for formal night (he is looking forward to wearing his "fancy suit"). I am looking forward to the two of us taking portraits in our snazzy gear. But how dressed up do people get for the Semi-Formal night? Do I need a similarly snazzy outfit as Formal Night, or can I take it down a notch?

As far as FE's go, I am planning on doing tiny little things on multiple days. I think the whole point of the FE is to enjoy the surprises and "magic" that come your way by participating. DS is looking forward to making deliveries!

Is anyone taking the Disney Cruise Line shuttle from Orlando to Port Canaveral on Saturday morning? We will be. Although we have received our docs, I haven't personally laid my hands on them because they were delivered to my mom's house. I will get the details when I go over there this weekend.

Oh and by the way, we will be on Deck 7, cabin 7116.

5 days to Disneyland / 23 days to Orlando / 24 days to the Disney Magic!

DS is 7 but will turn 8 one month after we sail. I know that DCL will allow kids to go up to the next group if they are within a month of turning the older group's minimum age. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I don't have any experience with it, but my understanding is that the information on the website is correct -- but only for the Wonder. ON the Magic, they have the Quest program for 11-13. It is very misleading, but we called Disney to confirm. On the Magic, the Quest is for 11-13 and the Stack is 14 and up. On the Wonder, there is the Lab up to age 12, and the teen area starts at 13.

Welcome Goofy'sGrl! Glad to have another cruiser! Holy cow, I posted something last night, went to bed and then work today and really missed a lot!!!! I am wearing a knee length dress for formal night...something I would wear to a wedding. My DH is wearing a suit....he is not a tux kind of guy. I have no idea what to wear for semi-formal night....any ideas?

FE UPDATE:
Currently 10 cabins/families and 20 kids. We decided to leave it open until the 27th for those that wanted to join. I will send everybody a list then.

I'm glad some other DHs will be wearing suits on formal night. I still might try looking around for an inexpensive formal dress for 'formal' night but I've decided not to stress over it. Thanks everyone!

We will be giving out small little trinkets once maybe twice. We have a wide range of ages for the kids so I'm aiming more towards a cabin gift.

All parent are given pagers when they register their kids. For the younger ones who do not have sign in/out privileges the counselors will page you if your child wants to leave or is upset, tired, etc. For the older ones who can sign themselves in/out they can ask the counselors to send you a page when they are leaving letting you know. Ex: "Justin is leaving the Lab and going back to the stateroom." It looks like your DD will be in Quest. I don't have any experience with that program but I would imagine it's along the same lines. I'm sure someone who is more knowledgable about it will post soon.

We've got our docs so we can do the dace too
It's starting to warm up here, but no matter how warm it gets it will not compare to sitting by the pool on the ship or sitting on a beach. . .
I CAN'T WAIT!

My extended family (14 of us) will be dressed up for formal and semiformal nights but nothing extravagant. The guys will have shirts and ties and the women will be wearing short dresses.

I'm excited about pirate night. My mom has made outfits for all of us!

I'm in for the FE. I will PM to be added to the list. I plan to do a small item and candy during the cruise.

A new question for our group: Does anyone scrapbook? I want to buy the cruise album but I've been told it is hard to find replacement pages. Can anyone help me out with this question?

Thanks Grumpymom73. Read your previous post - my DH will also be wearing a suit for formal night, but I'm in the "same boat" as you regarding having to figure out my outfit. The FE thing sounds like a lot of fun. My DD the artist is already deciding on a design.

Wow i really have missd alot and the last time i signed on was last night!
We plan to get pretty dressed up for both formal nights since we dont dress up very often. Sorry we have no experience with the oceaneer lab one is older and one is younger. As far as the FE goes we have never done it before either but we plan to just buy small items and go from there.
