April 10 2010 Disney Magic EBTA "Bound for Barcelona" - Part 5

We are still traveling through Europe, and still thinking about the great times we had on the Magic. We are in Milan and are finally at a nice hotel with a decent Internet connection.

It is so easy to get spoiled on a cruiseship. At our hotel in Florence, we threw our towels on the floor. When we returned, the towels were still there. When we went to the front desk, we were told, "No new towel every day." We miss being on the Magic.

Dee, thanks for posting my message.

Woody

Haha... "No new towel every day"!!! Regardless, sounds like an amazing trip!!! I can't believe you are still away!!! So jealous!!!

Just finally checking into this thread now, I've been so busy since we returned.

We LOVED out trip on the Magic, it was truly the trip of a lifetime, and I'm not sure we'll ever be able to top it. Our cabins were incredible, food was great, and we just had tons of fun onboard. We also loved the ports of call. Madiera was a wonderful surprise and we all fell in love with Seville.

After the cruise, most of my group spent a week in London (actually running into bound2travel at the British Museum) and we loved that as well. We rented a house in Kings Cross, saw lots of London sites and daytripped to Windsor and Paris. The three people of my group who travelled back to the US early must have caught something on the plane trip because they were terribly ill back home while we were living it up in London!

Hello there! I was wondering if any of you scanned your Navigators from your wonderful cruise. As I prepare for the WBTA, I would enjoy looking at them if you did. :)

I hope your memories are still making you smile!

I brought all of them home but I have a new scanner/computer. I have never had a scanner before and I can't figure out how to get it to scan. When I try it gives me an error and tells me to try getting it from my computer. But I can't figure that out either. When I open up Works and try to insert an image, the "insert from scanner" option is greyed out. If you or anyone else reading this have any suggestions, I would be happy to post them. I'm not sure if I should post on the regular board as this is really a "technical" problem but the technical board questions all have to do with DIS specific problems-not general computer stupidity. :sad2:

Ok everyone I totally forgot! I have not sent out the copies of my ebook to those who wanted it and came to my talk! If you will send me an email with your email on it to: kblair@christmasorganizing.com I will email it right out to you. I will look for my paper with everyone's email on it too but emailing me will be quicker! Sorry I got behind! The flooding 2 days after returning from the trip really messed me up.

Jackie, thanks for the youtube link. Loved the fireworks show.

Does anyone have a picture of the navigation map that was outside of Treasure Ketch? I thought I took a pic and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Also, I looked through the trip reports section and did not see any for our cruise. Does anyone have a trip report posted? I am just starting to work on my photo book and would like to read other reports. It helps me remember things that I may have forgotten.

Thanks to everyone who posted their pics on the photobucket site. That was a fun way to relive the cruise.

And thanks again to everyone for the fabulous FE gifts!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Thanks for any and all advice. We are on the EBTA next May (10 months) and currently have airfare booked (round-trip from Atlanta) for $735 for adults and $625 per child.

If you used DCL for your airfare:
  1. what airline did you fly home from Barcelona?
  2. How many plane changes/layovers?
  3. Were you seated together (have children with us).
  4. Would you use DCL again for your airfare?
If you booked airfare home on your own:
  1. Where did you fly from (Barcelona, London, Paris, etc)?
  2. Which airline did you use?
  3. What was your price?
  4. How did you find the best deal?
  5. Was it good or would you have rather flown with airfare arranged by DCL?
Thanks so much!

1. Barcelona
2. Swiss Air
3. About $500 each
4. I kept researching until I felt that we had reached the best price possible :surfweb:
5. It was good

We flew from Barcelona to London and stayed there for a week. Then we flew home (NYC) from London (about $450 per person on Aer Lingus)

We bought hte airfare through Orbitz

This worked better for us than booking through DCL because we had more flexability on when we left Spain and where we were going afterwords.

Thinking about the great time we had and scanning some photos tonight. I hope everyone is doing well!
