I have been home from Disney for almost a week now and I am still deep in Post Disney Depression! But on the flip side now we get to talk about the cruise. Tonight DH and I were discussing where to stay after the cruise. We are going to WDW from 4/5 - 4/9. I have reservations booked at WL club level but we are rethinking... Maybe we need to take it easy this time and stay somewhere cheaper! Because we just realized that since April 2011 - we have gone on 1) 4 Nts. Dream cruise 2) 2 Nts. post cruise WDW Beach Club club level 3) Bought Annual passes for the three of us, 4) WDW for 5 Nts in May (DH had a conference), 5) WDW for 7 Nts. Polynesian last week, and upcoming 6) April 2012 - 4Nts. Dream cruise followed by 4 Nts WDW. So I think we need to slow down. After April it may be a year before we head back again. We are considering Port Orleans or Coronado and also Hyatt Grand Cypress (we stayed there in May). Anyone ever stay at Port Orleans, I know it always gets good reviews. We stayed at Coronado in 2009 but when we got there we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite and so we really have no idea what a real room feels like.
I need to update the fish extender and the roll call list. I will get that done this weekend.
Question - why is everyone paying off their cruise already? I didn't think we had to make a payment until January.

I was wondering this too. We have 120 days to go so do the Platinum people have to pay in full by today to start online booking stuff? I've only been on 1 cruise so I don't get to do any of that stuff until January.

Nancy, you are correct - Platinum booking starts at midnight tonight. I believe final payment isn't due until January 15th.

I think that some people might also be trying to get their cruise paid off before the dreaded Christmas bills start arriving!

I know that my guests don't have to be paid until Jan 17th, but I guess DF and I are considered Platinum because we're having our wedding on the cruise so we get to start tonight! I personally can't wait to start planing all the cruise fun and in a few, weeks when he comes home for Christmas, we get to finish all of our wedding paperwork and send it in!

"Begin online check-in on January 2, 2012.
Start booking onboard fun and Port Adventures on January 2, 2012. Your vacation must be paid in full."

Regarding paying up now: we're just ready to get it done and paid for so I don't forget...our final payment is due Jan. 17. Don't want to run into any problems, and we've had the money sitting in savings just waiting, so we're ready to get that part done.

My hubby did buy the gift cards at our grocer the other day, and we just got our first 30 free gallons. Love it!! It was funny, though...he said he wasn't thinking and went through the self-check out lane. The automated lady kept shouting out "five-hundred-dollars" nice, slow, and loud. At the end, she belted out, "Your total is two-thousand, five-hundred dollars" - he said heads turned and stared at him, wondering what on earth he was buying. He thought he might need security to take him out to his car!!

We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and loved it, and are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter for the first time over Easter weekend (staying at Boardwalk Villas for 2 nights post-cruise, then POFQ for 2 nights). We are excited to check out both, as we haven't stayed at either one. My parent's are DVCer's, and are cruising with us and staying for those 2 nights after, before they fly home for Easter. We're spending Easter with Mickey.

We just got back from the Nov. 12th 7 day Western Car. cruise on the Magic. We got the my parents-in-law so excited they have talked us into going on a cruise with them on April 1st on the Dream! So we are the Chavez family. I don't know what your abbreviations are and we've never done fishhooks or meets but we want to this time. It's me (age 47), husband (41), son (10 by then) and daughter (8 by then). Also MIL and FIL. Hello everyone. Tell us what we need to know to join in on this thread, get excited, and maybe do fishhooks. Thanks! It's our third Disney cruise.

I just picked up my cruise confirmation and guess what - I wrote in big letters, deposit due 1/2/12. I thought it was later than that! That is my DH's birthday, hmmm sounds like a Birthday present to me.

Well we have spent all weekend going over and over and over this trip and we still haven't reached a decision on the post cruise hotel. Now we are thinking - cancel Wilderness Lodge Club Level (ouch that really hurts, but I'll live) and either go with the Swan or Hyatt Grand Cypress Regency Club Level. The Swan would be an "on property" experience where as the Hyatt would be the level of service we wanted with the breakfast, snacks, etc... DH is a platinum member of Hyatt and we can book a room for the low standard rate and then spend 3000 points, total, to upgrade to Regency Club Level. But, and this is the important part, both of the hotels are in my opinion "Deluxe" but cost 1/2 the price of a regular room at Wilderness Lodge. Decisions, decisions, decisions...don't know what to do!
We are also spending Easter with Mickey. Flying home late on Monday.

Ok, I am going to have to sit down and read up on the messages here and figure out this FE thing. See if we have time to participate. I also wanted to update that we have our room number now. It is 8522. Can't wait to be on the cruise. It's been 8 yrs since we cruised. I sure hope our DD loves it like we do!

Holy smokes! Just got notification that our kids' passports are on their way, and should be delivered tomorrow or the next day. We just submitted them the day before Thanksgiving. It's nice to have that done!

Still trying to figure out what I want to do for our FE gifts. Will have to be something I can put together after the kids go to bed, since they don't know we're going on this cruise! I'm waiting to see how big the group gets before I decide how involved the gifts will be...

Thought I'd catch up on the latest and greatest. Ya'll have been busy! We're in the thick of the Christmas season here in Wyoming, one orchestra performance down, one more plus one vocal still to go! Crazy time here.

All paid up for the trip, flights purchased. Trying to decide where to stay before and after...going to save some money (hopefully) as we're staying off-Disney as well.

Can't wait to finally meet all of you! Excited for the FishExtenders, trying not to purchase anything YET so I get all covered.

I'm ready for some Disney magic!

Hey!!
Well finally got the post cruise hotel reservations finalized! The winner was....
The Swan! So we went back and forth with Hyatt Grand Cypress and The Swan and last night made a decision and then booked the rooms. Got a really good rate at Swan with an educator discount. Plus I was able to reserve a room for my parents at the same rate.
After the holidays this trip is going to come quick!!
