Apr 19, 2015 Western Caribbean (Jamaica)

:dance3::dance3:I'm so excited! This will be our 2nd Disney cruise; we did the WBTA in 2010. I travel with my dh and my ds. Both are disabled. The lesson I learned on the WBTA is that I need another adult on the trip or its no fun at all for me. So I'm not sure at this point who the other adult will be. I've reserved 3 rooms, hoping my dd will come and bring her 4 kids (15, 13, 11, 8. Her dh is not a fan of cruising). But if that doesn't work out I'll let one of the rooms go and just bring a professional respite provider. She is a good friend, but I'd still prefer my dd comes. Keep your fingers crossed!

Looking forward to the FE, and any other stuff that we get organized. I saw that one family is planning to do Universal in the days before the cruise. So are we!

I just updated the welcome post to include the following but thought I'd post it here as well....

My apologies for not having updated the cruise list / who's sailing with us and not responding to PM's in quite some time. I have been dealing with some pretty significant health issues within my family and have had to put many other things in life aside and deal / reprioritize things for a while. I do have everyone's PM's and promise to try and update the list ASAP (I'm hoping to get to it this weekend after my mom's surgery on Thursday).
Please forgive my inability to keep everything up to date, but sometimes life happens (more than once in this case....).

Boy I need this vacation more than you know!!! I can't wait!!

Hi everyone!!

My husband (N365PA) and I will be joining ya'll for this cruise! This will be my 13th Disney cruise and my husband's 14th.

I haven't read through all of the posts yet, but I'll do it sometime today. We'd like to join a FE group/list if there's one going already--if I need to send a PM to someone, just let me know who.

When I looked today, the Pirate party was listed for the first day at sea (our 2nd night), which has me confused because formal night is usually on the 2nd night.

Off to sign up for some port adventures. There are some cabanas at Serenity Bay still available, but the family beach ones are gone.

Hi! Joining in - this is our first cruise and can't wait! We are a family of 4. (DH, Me!, DD5 & DD3

Our plan is to fly down on Saturday and use DVC points for one night and spend the evening in Epcot.

I'm excited & nervous - and I feel so in the dark! I still have a lot of researching to do and it's hard when we are heading to WDW in December :)

We're flying in on the 18th and using DVC points for the Boardwalk the night. We'll be going to EPCOT too, so we'll see ya there!:cool1:

As far as excursions go, we've signed up for two so far. On CC, my husband will be doing the fly fishing excursion. In Cozumel we're going to do the XPLOR park for the day. We're not sure about Grand Cayman or Jamaica yet.

Grand Cayman: We've done Stingray City in the past (a highlight of the cruise)
Cozumel: We've done Tulum Ruins (wonderful trip but long day) and the Mexican Cooking class

We are also joining the cruise in April....

My husband and I - plus our kids - 5yo girl and twin boys 4yo. We are from Maine as well and cannot wait to get on the Magic with the kiddos.

Welcome to the cruise!

Happy Holiday's everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah. As my holiday present to all, I have just finished going through ALL of my PM's AND reviewing all pages of this thread for those that have not PM'd me and I believe I have all cruisers on this thread added to the cruise list on page 1! :faint:

My apologies for it taking SO LONG. Between my knee replacement that is still giving me grief, and my mom being diagnosed with cancer and having surgery 3 weeks later, it's been a rough 4-5 months. But I am happy to report that everyone is on the UP SWING and we are looking forward to starting off the new year in a much better place than we were months ago!! I may not be dancing on this cruise, but I sure as well will be having the time of my life! :yay:

For those of you interested in the FE Exchange, I was originally asked to include links in my initial post to external meet sites and google docs that contain FE Exchange info, as I am not managing those. As you can see, they are no longer part of this thread. DIS Boards has a policy that those are not allowed.

To be added to the meet thread please continue to MESSAGE ME! As we get closer to the cruise this thread will get busier and busier, making it more difficult for me to read through every post to find new people who have posted "Add Me!" posts within the thread! (although I will try). If you see a new member, PLEASE Encourage them to PM Me in the event I miss their post. I can promise that from here on in, I will not take MONTHS to update the thread!!!!! :hourglass

Unfortunately, posts have been removed from a number of Cruise Meets threads including this one.

PLEASE review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions).

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

If no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, perhaps someone can start that right in this thread.

Enjoy!

Doc thanks for clarifying (I couldn't have written it that well!).

So....Anyone wishing to participate in the FE please PM BeerManZ. If you post in this thread that you want to participate, you will most likely not be included in the list!!! Letting him know directly is the best way to ensure you get on the list!

I will work with him as we get closer to the cruise to ensure there is a final call and list posted on this thread!!!!

Happy 2015 Everyone!

Our Cruise is THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Time is going to fly by now!! I'm excited because our booking window opens in 17 or so days! LOL! So jealous of the CC gold and platinum members who are already booking excursions and palo dinner/brunch ressies!!!

I have a question for those of you traveling with children!! My DD is 9 and a bit shy. Her brother usually goes into the club/lab with her but this year is 11 and will be venturing into "Edge" - even more-so since he found out that a classmate of the same age will be cruising with us. My DD is afraid she will be in the club "alone" and not make any friends. I keep reminding her that she feels the same way at the start of every school year and she's a very sweet likable kid, but timid at first. Does anyone else have an 8-10 year old daughter in a similar situation that will be club-bound?? I want her to know she isn't alone!!!!!

Happy New Year everyone!! Only 105 days until we set sail!

If you're staying at WDW the night before the cruise, how are you getting to the port?

Greetings Everyone. We are quickly approaching the 90-day out mark for the cruise. Around that time we will start closing the FE lists. If you would like to be added (and to be compliant with theDIS), please post your room and guest information on this forum and I will reply to it once I add you. If additional information is needed, I was ask for it on the side. We have nearly 100 people in about 25 different rooms so far on the master list! The group will be split into at least 2 groups, but we will allow for those wishing to be on both lists to do so. More information to come toward the end of January. :3dglasses

I signed in last night and Pirate Night has moved again (to night 5). Hoping now that we are closer, it will not change again. Looking so forward to our cruise and to meeting some of you!!

I wish they would make up their mind! I cannot even see it anymore - when I click Cruise Activities, it just says I can add/edit after 1/19. I thought I saw it before - oh well, soon enough.

If you're staying at WDW the night before the cruise, how are you getting to the port?

My mom is staying at WDW the night before - we are flying in the morning of. DCL has transportation between the WDW hotels and the cruise terminal but I believe you have to pay and book it as part of your cruise (unless it was included as part of your cruise package). From what I remember, it's about $70 round trip (whether it's hotel to cruise ship or cruise ship to airport). It's seperate than Disney's Magical Express which will take you from hotel to airport (or vice versa) for free if you are staying on WDW property.

Make sure you book it ahead of time (you can do this through travel agent or however you booked cruise) as you will be given assigned time for transportation and you have to be ready and waiting with your luggage.

If you're staying at WDW the night before the cruise, how are you getting to the port?

There are plenty of options to get from WDW to DCL including their official bus transfers. They can be expensive, depending on your party size. If you are with a bigger group, it may be cheaper to utilize another private shuttle company. It's only about an hour drive to the port from WDW.

I believe we're already signed up for the DCL transportation from WDW to port and PC to MCO. We've almost always used DCL transportation when coming from WDW or MCO. I think we've only not used it once or twice. Some might consider it sad that we can recite from memory the video that they play aboard the bus, but we just consider it a part of our disney bubble.

I was just wondering what other people were planning.
