Apps + more Only At Disney Fine Dining

So I have a ressie for Cali Grill and Jiko next month- but I srsly don't want to spend the crazy amount.

My DF and I were going to get each a flatbread from both places and a dessert + glass of wine or beer.

Do you think this will satisfy us? I may get one more app from Jiko bc the flatbread is cheaper too but it's better than a $50 entree + other stuff right?!

What do you normally do to keep prices low when you still want to dine at the signature restaurants?

If you're trying to save money, skip wine and beer at table service restaurants and have a glass of water.

Split an Appetizer the flatbread's are $16.
Deep six ordering an alcoholic beverage.
At Cali Grill the lamb is $55 and the filet is $49 skip dessert and get a mickey bar in the park. IMHO
A flatbread and a dessert would not fill me up I would rather eat a great meal than a great dessert DW is the opposite

If you don't want to eat the food, why did you make the reservation?

Honestly I don't get the point.

That said I often order two appetizers as a meal at Disney, say a salad and the flatbread. But I do that because so many of the entrees have been "dumbed down" to the point they don't interest me. But I don't think the savings have ever been that substantial.

Personally I would skip the desert and/or booze first. But the Disney deserts have also suffered lately so not much appeals to me (I hate coffee so the vaunted "Zebra Domes" are a total waste for example LOL!)

I had flatbread and soul at cali previously and found if filling. With two of you I'd go the app route and share one before flatbreads as it is more filling than dessert and get that if you still have room. And don't forgoe the alcohol, totally makes the meal ; ) You may also want to consider sitting in the lounge just do you can share and nibble and linger.
