Applying for Part Time then Declining

Hi everybody,
I didn't know where else to put this, so apologies if it's in the wrong place. Disney is having an online job fair for a variety of part time positions. I'm a former CP who wants to get back to working for the company (didn't go seasonal because I'm out of state) and I'm considering applying. However, if I got a job it would require moving out of state, which is something I'm not sure I can realistically do at this time... does anyone know if declining an offered position would hurt my chances of getting hired again in the future? I know it doesn't hurt for the CP, I was just wondering if part time was different. Thanks guys!

I wouldn't apply unless you truly want to be available for working at least 3 days a week. If you decline, they probably won't consider you again for 6 months, but after 6 months you would start the process all over again. I'm no expert, but I would say after one or two times of declining, they will begin to not take you seriously about wanting to work for the company. I would wait to apply until you can truly commit to moving to the Orlando area.

I want the job, but it requires finding a place to live that I can reasonably afford in a completely different state. The application closes in 4 days, which isn't really enough time to find a place. I'd be applying to keep the option available, basically. I genuinely want the job, I just don't know if a place is going to line up at this time or not.

Just an FYI- they are always hiring. They may be doing a push for certain things now, but this won't be the last time.

IMHO you should get everything worked out and then apply when it works best. No need to feel rushed to do it.
