We already have a room only booking at BC at the full price in early October.

We are getting AP's for the first time this trip so i do not know how it works.

When the AP rate comes out are we just able to apply that to our booking? Or are the AP rates only available for certain room categories at certain resorts?

I have checked BC for our dates as we thought we may upgrade to CL or lake view. But for our dates there isn't any availability at all, for any room type. So I checked YC (we could change our ressie to there) and it too shows as no rooms available. So with the resort being booked out and no rooms available for the time we are there. Will we be able to apply the AP discount to our room? Or will they not have it available for BC and YC because there are not any rooms available for the period we are there?

Having never used AP discount before I am not really sure how it all works.

Thanks :goodvibes

There are a certain number of AP rooms allocated, and I am certain that they do not cover all room types and perhaps not all resorts (not sure about this).

What I do is call Disney when the AP rates come out and have it applied against my current Reservation. Never had a problem with this yet ...

I would simply call and try to get this AP rate applied against your existing reservation ... and if some minor change in room type is needed, then do so!

This, too, had been my past experience with changing a current or just booking a new reservation with an AP code. We made a res. at WL in Oct of 2009 for this past Feb with a 40% off code where the least exp. room was a Woods view (booked the day we got the code) When the AP codes came out, the very first day, I checked to see if a standard room or even a Woods view was avail and neither ever were. We were going the first week of Feb so I thought there s/b no problem. Well, I check every day and nothing was ever out there so we kept the 40% code on Woods. I was surprised since if checking without any codes, standard and woods were both avail. My guess is for that timeframe WL did not have any rooms avail at Standard or Woods. AKL did since I did check just to be sure the 45% was even out there!

I guess where I'm going with this is that at times all room type/resorts may not be avail to apply a code to and you may have to make changes to get the code. Good Luck!
