Apply package deal to current reservation??

I've never stayed on property at US before but after reading your posts about how wonderful it is, my husband and I decided to splurge plan to stay at the Royal Pacific Hotel on January 5-11, 2010. I have 2 questions.

1. They only have queen rooms available ($153) unless we upgrade to king club level ($223 - huge difference in price). There are no standard king rooms available. Is there something going on that week - some convention or something going on that I should be aware of that might impact our vacation? I surely don't want to share my hotel with a cheerleading convention or something like that.

2. If I book a room now and then in the next few months a package deal comes out like the "Stay4, Play More" deal, can I call and change my booking to reflect that package price?

As long as you are booking through Loews directly and not the Universal Travel Agency through www.universalorlando.com, you can have your rate changed as you please.

I just called to change my rate at 888-464-3551. I thought that was the Vacation Planners from the Universal site phone #, not Loews direct.
