I got an offer in the mail yesterday for a Disney visa card. If you spend $500 in the first 3mo you get a $200 Disney gift card. I went online and applied and got accepted.

My question is if you spend the $500 in say the first month how long does it take to get the gift card? We are going to Disney Dec 8th and would like to have it by then. My DH travels for work so we should get the $500 pretty fast. i just wondered how long it takes to get.

Thanks

DH and I both did the $200 offer in the past. It won't take long to get the gift card after you spend the $500. I think it only took a few weeks at most.

We got ours a couple of days after the first statement posted. We booked a DCL cruise so had no problem spending the $$$. So, we got it about 4 weeks after first use of the card.

There was a similar special last year when I applied for the card. Not only did I have to contact Chase for the gift card, but they didn't facor in the "extra $50 for adding an authorized user to the account." My trip was quickly approaching too, so Disney (not Chase) managed to get me the cards in time.

I'm not sure what the previous poster was referring to with the $50 fee to add an authorized user. DH and myself on ours with no addl. fee.

We got our gift card just a week or two after we paid the bill for the $500 in charges that are required. You will probably even have time to build up some more rewards by your trip in Dec. One of the cards they offer gives 2% on gas, groceries and restaurants. We put all that on it every month and it really adds up fast.

There is no charge to add authorized users to a Disney Visa.

Does anyone know if you add an authorized user to your card would they increase your credit limit? I guess this question would apply to any card, I'm just wondering if they figure its like getting a second account almost if two people will be making charges.

No it won't

This post is giving me hope!!!

We leave on 9/18 for WDW & I just applied and was approved yesterday. Since my final payment is due tomorrow, my TA charged our balance to my AMEX. When my Disney Visa arrives, she is going to credit the AmEx and charge the Visa. I'm hoping that all this can be done in the next 10 days so that I can get credit for the $500 needed and then have my $200 GC mailed to me before we leave. It seems like it doesn't necessarily take the 6-8wks to get the GC as written on the CC application!

I know I'm cutting it close, but I'm hoping that all the stars align and everything works out in my favor :)

I think the previous poster meant that their family received an extra $50 gift card bonus for adding an authorized user to the account.

Just a follow up to this... My $200 GC arrived TODAY!

8/2 - applied/approved over the phone
8/8 - received the visa & had vacay balance applied
8/19 - received gift card!

11 days from purchase to mailbox...not bad :)

I got in on this promotion and it didn't take that long once you hit the $500. I love the Mickey n Minnie card, it's too cute and get lots if compliments:)
