Apply Deposit to Different Reservation?

We have two room reservations right now and need to cancel one. I don't want to lose money on the exchange rate and wonder if anyone has tried to apply the deposit credit from the cancelled reservation towards the reservation they are keeping? Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

I believe my wife had to call direct and they applied those funds to the other room. But that was many moons ago but I call them.

Yes, if you call they can do that. Might have to put you on hold a minute to get guest services to help.

Yes, they can do that. It will involve, as someone else mentioned, placing you on hold while they get Guest Services so call when you have plenty of time for waiting. It could take a couple of days for them to get the transfer complete, so make you sure you do this well in advance of when your final payment is due.
