I applied for a redcard to get the 5% discount on DGC.
It said I had 300.00 limit.
Well I have no card information to go ahead and use before I get the card.
I don’t know if I closed the page and lost the info or what.
I need to order now because our vacation starts Nov 14. If I call can I get the numbers for the card?

Why not call and find out as you'd have your answer by now. Not sure anyone here is going to know. There's not many card issuers that give the number before hand.

Yeah I guess I can call I didn’t know if they would answer on the weekends

You applied for what is basically a credit card with Target. You qualified for a $300 limit. I am questionin g if you thought you tried for a Target Red card that is tied to your debit or checking account. A red card connected to your checking account, you would not have a limit (,it's basically your checking account balance). Then you could purchase $100 worth of gift cards for $95 each.

as previou s poster said, you are only saving $15 on $300 worth of gift cards. It is a chart card (the one you currently have), so if not paid off in full, you will be paying interest.

It was the redcard credit card not debit.

Here’s part of the email.

Congratulations, Mary!

It would seem the $15 discount is not going to balance out the interest paid if you max this out and don't pay it in full the first payment date. Probably cheaper to just pay for the vacation items you need out right and not tie the money up in gift cards that appear they may cost you more in the long run.

If she does pay it off on time, which OP has not given us a reason not to believe, she would save $15.

That said, OP, your best bet is to just call and see if they can help you.

I plan to pay it off in full. I called and they said I would be receiving a temporary card in the email. Well no email yet.

I never did get a temporary card, but it said my card was mailed yesterday. It may not get here in time to order gift cards. That would be a disaster if I ordered them and they didn’t come until after we leave. Hmmm I think they have e-gift cards

Just use the app. It gives you a barcode to scan in store that is your card number for payment. It will also automatically apply the discount.

You can also order the cards online via the app.

I don’t have the numbers to add to my account to use the bar code.

Can't you buy the gift cards at the Target store, when the card arrives?

I would just order the ecards...you'll get it within a matter of hours and it's super easy to use. We did this for our last 2 trips, no issues.

Why not just purchase a e-giftcard? If it’s linked to your Target log in you should be able to purchase that way.
I no longer buy the physical gift cards. The last time we did they said my $1500 in DGC were showing as active but none were when I went to merge them on the DGC website. That was a pain to sort out. Never again.
